I had my membranes swept yesterday at around 11:30am, and had some cramping for most of the day afterwards
Right around when I went to bed at midnight I started having what I can only assume are contractions. They've been coming fairly regularly, but don't seem to have a pattern just yet at 4am.
It feels like my whole belly tightens and then it's like a really bad period cramp.
I'm cautiously excited, as today happens to be my daughters second birthday!

This is what it's looking like so far.. They come faster if I move around. Right now I've been alternating laying on my left and right side.

Thanks everyone, is it normal though for some to be so close and others to be further apart? I don't know what Brixton hicks feel like and I don't want to worry my husband for nothing.

This last one lasted for 3 minutes, and it was not just some cramping, it hurt! It just doesn't seem like one should last one minute and the next should last 3.

@Sophs Mama: I honestly can't remember what mine were like - I know I ended up looking at the average, but I don't know that they were as varied as yours are. I would call your OB for some advice.

how exciting! can't believe you may have two LO's with the same birthday! my braxton hicks were all in the tummy area, no deep pelvic period cramp.
i echo adira's suggestion to call your OB office to get their take on it.

I don't think my obs office works that way, I'd have to wait until the nurses get in at around 9. And my doctor isn't even in the office today, she only works Wednesdays and Fridays.

@Sophs Mama: Looking good! I had lots of braxton hicks and false labor. They were uncomfortable and hurt a little in the end but like @edelweiss: said, they weren't deep pelvic cramps. Exciting!!! I bet it'll be today!

@Sophs Mama: well who do talk to when you're in labor??? They can't expect you to go into labor during office hours...

Keep moving! I would head in to LD. soon
If you do lay down to rest I would suggest propping your hips open as much as you can. Google the peanut ball. It helped me progress a ton even laying down on my side.

@Sophs Mama: They don't have an on-call nurse? Or give you any instructions on what to do when you're in labor?? Definitely keep timing and finish packing your hospital bag if you haven't yet!

@Sophs Mama: I agree with Bao, keep moving if you can. I would probably think about heading to the hospital if you're still having them now. (I'm assuming you already did since this was written a few hours ago.)

@Sophs Mama: sounds promising good luck! My contractions were never consistent in frequency or duration.
