So my original video monitor lasted me 4 yrs then the monitor went black - I got a refurb from Summer Infant for $50 and its been less than a year and now its going black too - warranty was only for 6 months =(
DD isn't even 3 yet and I used one with DS until he was 4 so I need one for about 18 months -
Anyone know of one that is around $100?

We use foscams and have had a good experience with them so far. You can also try looking at no better deal for video cameras. They usually have a good selection.

Eta: I just checked the price. Between $69-99.
I would also check no better deal for a cheap quality monitor if you're not interested in a foscam.

The infant optics one on amazon is typically around $99. We've used it heavily for 16 months, and it just now crapped out on us. The charging port just won't stay connected. But we abused that thing and it's been great.
My other suggestion is get something from target and buy their cheap warranty plan. They're like $7-29 depending on the item price and cover EVERYthing, even things like spilling your coffee on it or stepping on it. We just got it on our latest monitor and have it on a few other things too. Just peace of mind that we'll have it for 3 years.

We have the Levana Safe n See. It's $99 and worked perfectly for the 7 months we've had it so far!

Groupon right now available for a foscam monitor for $49.99 - we love ours! Has video monitor, recording video and still photos, sound (depending on the app you use it with), a microphone to talk to your kid, and you can move the camera and zoom.

@Mamaof2: we haven't had any issues with our wifi not working when it's on. That said we mostly have it on during the night when we are not online, but I haven't noticed any interference when both are on.

@Mamaof2: We did have some. It didn't kill our internet, but we had proximity issues. If the monitor was on, our laptop or tablet would have wifi issues if it was within a few feet. It wasn't a huge deal, but inconvenient at times. I thought it was a pretty normal issue, but our new summer infant monitor doesn't cause any interference.

@Mamaof2: We had the Infant Optics for a little over a year. We bought it for $99 off Amazon. It wasn't fancy, but it did its job and we were happy with it. The battery sucked, though, and we had to constantly keep it plugged in. If it wasn't plugged in, it would die after half an hour.
I can't remember how it broke, but after a year, the sound quit working. We didn't want to buy another monitor, but our house is like 3000 sq ft and LO's room is on the opposite end, so we can't hear her at all. We ended up buying the Levana Jena for about $100. The battery life is longer (up to 8 hrs, I think), but we feel like the night vision isn't very good. Unless the camera is just a few feet from the crib, it's pretty much impossible to see anything. It's definitely not the best monitor out there, but I think it's good for the price.
ETA: No wifi issues w/either monitor. We usually have 5 or 6 devices using the wifi and haven't had any problems.
