*holding you*
Are you okay? What are you scared about? Just anxious/nervous? It is quite overwhelming the second you and your SO decide to start a family!

@Rubies: Thanks for the holding. I 'm sure I'll be fine - Anxious is probably a good descripter. I'm scared about numerous things starting with how something the size of a watermelon is going to fit out something the size of a lime, the fact that I have not lost those extra 30 pounds and doubt I will before then, that we are going to try and get KUed and I have only ever changed one diaper and know nothing about babies. The last one is downright terrifying. Why oh why didn't I ever get into babysitting?!?!
Is this normal? I mean I'm not going to have a panic attack but it is starting to freak me out a little and I don't even have all those pregnancy hormones to blame all this on.

@MrsH: Absolutely normal. Before I had my LO, I had NEVER changed a diaper in my life. I just did a lot of reading, researching, and talking to people and just did what I could do to gain as much knowledge as possible.

@MrsH: I think it's perfectly normal to be scared. It's going to change your life forever and that's nerving. I'm TTC and feel scared at times. I doubt myself whether we're making the right decision to try right now. I've never changed a diaper! You're definitely not alone!

@Rubies: Any goood books to recommend? I'm kind of nerdy and into research so bring it on.
@mrskc: Good luck on TTC. We have so much going on (I'm sure we aren't the only ones but we both work full time and are both going to grad school, etc) and I know a baby will change our life drastically so I'm just freaking out a little I think. What are you doing to get ready?

I was totally nervous and scared too. I felt like I didn't know the first thing about babies and taking care of one just FREAKED me out. So I did what I always do when I'm unsure of something. I read and researched like crazy! I always feel better after I'm better informed. If you like nerdy things, then I would def recommend going to your local bookstore and perusing through the parenting section. You'll see tons of books with different opinons/viewpoints that are very interesting to read.

@MrsH: Not much really. HB has been a huge source of info. I figure I got 9 months to research once I'm pregnant.

@mrsh: The "What to Expect" books were a good starting point for me. From then on, I branched into more theoretical/research-oriented books. I'll have to look at my bookshelf tonight when I get home and recommend some to you on your wall!

@MrsH: I've found the Mayo clinic guide really informative. And congrats on the TTCing. It's an exciting time.

@MrsH: ha! It's just that right now I'm obsessed/researching getting pregnant. I can only worry about one thing at a time.

@MrsH: yeah. You don't have much control. But for me I had a MC so I think that has fueled my obsessiveness.

@chopsuey119: Great minds think alike?
@mrskc: So sorry I've been obsessing for a year for other reasons.

@Mrs H best of luck!
We have decided to start ttc around that time too. We have good reasons to start in a couple of months but now that we have decided to start ttc I kind of want to start now! It's exciting.

Yay!
I was also terrified... but the excitment beat the scared so we went for it anyway.

@Mrs Rivera: Ever since we decided we wanted to have a baby last year I have been wanting to start! We also have good reasons to wait but sometimes that doesn't stop me from wanting to start sooner. Good luck!
@artbee: I'm glad I'm not the only terrified one.
