I'm making a tulle tutu skirt for a friend's daughter. It's lavender. Plus the Dollar Store had lavender fairy wings, and I have a wand and tiara that match. Perfect for an 8 year old?

I'm going to start "making" the baby's curtains soon. By making I mean washing the Ikea curtains I bought and using iron on tape to hem them and add a grosgrain ribbon border, then hang them up with the blackout lining. That's making them, right??
I also want to paint my own version of this thing from Land of Nod, and personalize it after the baby is born. We are team green so I'm thinking I'll do in neutral colors then add purple or blue accents when I add the name.

I tried to "make" a gift for Father's Day, but it didn't go as planned.
I've started making a couple of up-cycled baby leggings for K, out of old clothes. Need to have my Gma sew them for me though since my machine is broken and "glue tape" didn't work - lol!

@autumnlove:
The waist band is white and super stretchy (DH put it around his thigh so I could make sure it was even...pity he wouldn't let me take a pic!). The tulle is lavender with the flower being a darker purple. All told, the skirt cost about $10 and took less than an hour to make. The wings were $1, and I already had the wand/tiara.

@autumnlove: If you google "hooded towel tutorial" a bunch come up including some pinterest boards.
I always loved the tutorials on Prudent Baby. This link has links to two hooded towel tutorials from them. I really like the beach towel with the designer fabric on one side. You could easy scale it down to a baby towel! http://prudentbaby.com/2011/06/baby-kid/towel-time-2/

I'm working on a hexagon paper piecing/embroidery wall hanging. A girl that does embroidery patterns (Wild Olive) is doing a summer stitching thing for the next couple months, where she sends you a little embroidery pattern every week, then you piece it all together to make a little wall hanging. It's pretty easy so far, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do when it gets to the stage where you put it all together! Ha.

@autumnlove: the easiest hooded towel process I found was 2 wash cloth sized towels attached to a bath towel (you sew the washcloths onto the towel and then sew the washcloths together to make the hood. I know that's pretty vauge, but the Internet will have your back.
I just finished a project last week for "paint chip" garland. I used scrapbook paper instead, but it was So Easy and So Cute! I can't wait to have a reason to make more!

I just made some Instagram coasters using 16 cent bath tiles from Home Depot, modpodge and the free 4" prints I got from shutterfly a few months ago. They are awesome!

Burp cloths and hooded towels are on my to-do list. We have a homemade hooded towel that we were gifted and it is my favorite towel for DS! It's so much better than a baby towel! Here's the tutorial I plan on using. It's very similar to the one we were given.
