@mrs bunchy: Thanks!! Yeah, I had an HSG on Friday and I was on Clomid for a Clomid challenge test. So there's a lot going on this cycle!

@bluestriped bee: we'll be/are in the TWW together again! I'm sending positive thoughts your way and will hope for all of us on here. I recently learned that my friend's old roommate got her BFP after 2 years of trying, medicated and IUI, and her BFP came from an unmedicated cycle when they stopped spending money on IF treatments. FX for you!

@mrswin: Barcelona and Paris sound so fun! DH and I went to Paris last year. If you like meat and fries, I highly recommend http://www.yelp.com/biz/le-relais-de-l-entrecĂ´te-paris-3 They only have steak frites as a main course and you just let them know if you want it rare, medium rare, medium, well. It's delicious! If we don't get KU this year, we're planning for a trip to Spain.

@FaithFertility: yay for the TWW, sounds like the cruise was magical and FX you got a permanent souvenir!

@MrsTal: I hope you get a permanent souvenir from your cruise as well!

Ugh, I just had to vent a little and didn't want to start a new post. My wondfo this morning was positive. It was faint but there and DH saw it too. But knowing my luck with wondfo I took another wondfo and a FRER and both were negative. I think I might be just using FRERs from now on. Might be a good thing, I won't be tempted to test early then.

@FaithFertility: thank you! That makes me feel better. I think it's good we will redo the SA since it's been a year and something could have changed.

Wow, I missed a lot the other day!

I'm all about funny these days, so I like The Mindy Project, but we never watch when it's on. I don't know any show times! And this is kind of embarrassing, but we get Workaholics from Netflix and laugh a lot. Any other funny shows I should be watching?

My update: I went to the RE yesterday to discuss my lap results. I'm most pleased that he removed endo from a spot that has been hurting for years, and from my cervix, which caused serious discomfort sometimes during sex. The plan is to crank up the drugs to get at least 2-3 follicles through injectables and another IUI.

@Leialou: That is my husband's favorite show right now! He just discovered it.

@doxielove: welcome! I watched one episode of that show and was anxious the entire time. I don't know how your heart can handle it!

@MrsWin: good luck today! Please update us with how it goes.

@LindsayinNY: glad you have a plan! I peeked at the thread you started and you got a lot of good advice. Hope it was helpful in making a decision. It is a lot to learn, but you'll quickly have it all done. People freak about the trigger shot, but it's no big deal.

@BHBee: congrats on your new home! Moves are super stressful and super exciting. I am glad you're done with Clomid--you two were not friends. I think Femara is much better, and think you'll have success with it.

@Jenn23: hi! That picture you posted of your little boy is beautiful. He looks like a soulful little man. I've always been a sucker for big brown eyes.

@mrstal: you'll love a med free month! Has your husband ever had a bad SA before? It could be a fluke. I heard that the pressure for preparing an IUI sample could result in lower numbers. Have you, ummm.....aided in the collection before? I put on the sexy lingerie from our wedding night and tried to make it romantic. My husband laughed, but appreciate the gesture.

@faithfertility: I always smile when I see your name pop up here! A magical cruise baby sounds lovely. Patience is probably one of the top requirements to surviving infertility, don't you think? Mine has been so thin at times.

@owlteach: let me know if you have any lap questions! I'm happy to share advice and info with you. My only regret, honestly, is not having done it sooner.

@mrs bunchy: oh, bikini season. Yes, it's fast approaching! What is your workout routine?

@mrstal: just saw about your wondfo madness. I'm so sorry. That's a punch to the stomach.

Here's my update - I got a call from my doctor to go to an actual fertility clinic to arrange an IUI rather than the gyno that was too far from me. Appointment is in JUNE. Ugh.

  12. MrsTal

    clementine / 901 posts

@Happygal: No his first SA a year ago was fine. He did say he was super nervous before the IUI but the doctor didn't think that would have anything to do with his results this time. (Which I'm not sure I agree with. I did offer to assist him but he said he was too nervous.

@babycanuck: JUNE??? Ugh I'm sorry, it's not that far away but it's far enough away that it sucks.

@MrsTal: Yeah and this is just the consult with the new clinic. Thank goodness I had all of my tests done already. Sigh.

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@MrsTal: hmmm. I'm not a doctor (I feel like I say that a lot on here!) but it just makes sense to me that that would have an effect! I do think it's encouraging that it's been fine before and that other member's husbands have had this happen before as well.

I don't think I really helped at all with the collection. But I do think my husband appreciated the thought.

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@doxielove: thank you! It takes a bit of time and I'm worried I'll mess up info or leave someone off, but it helps me to keep track of what people have going on. I don't want anyone to feel pressure, so if I ever include something you don't want on there, let me know! I've asked people to include either update: or an ** so it's easy to pick out what to include.

Dog question--how many doxies do you have? It seems like people in my neighborhood with smaller dogs often have 2. I have just one German Shepherd who is at my feet and begging for food right now.

  17. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@purplepumps: I don't think I know anyone who has traveled to Jordan before. How did you pick that out as your destination?

  18. doxielove

    persimmon / 1388 posts

@Happygal: Ok, good to know about the "**," I'll keep that in mind!

I have 2 doxies! They are just fabulous as a pair 1 is mine (my avatar), the other is technically my parents'. They both currently live w/ my parents since we aren't allowed to have dogs in our apartment. When my husband and I eventually buy a house this fall, I think we'll leave the doxies w/ my parents. They've lived there for 6+ years so I'd hate to tear them apart now! They're best buds

I'm really jealous of all these awesome vacations coming up!!

My favorite TV show right now is The Blacklist. This first season is so good I don't know how they can top it season two.

No real update for me, except I did something super foolish, but you know how addictive POAS is!! So yesterday after an hour hold and with what I would call super diluted pee I used an OPK. I had innocent intentions, just wanted to see if the trigger was gone. But then the test line not only showed up before the control line it was so much darker. I am not getting my hopes up, but needed to share in a safe space

  20. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@TheReelDeal: picture?! I am cautiously very excited for you! When will you test again?

  21. lazypanda

    kiwi / 636 posts

@TheReelDeal: ahhh!!! I'm excited for you! I'm trying to test out my trigger with LH tests right now to see if there's a change. FX for you. I also like watching blacklist. DH started watching & I got hooked on that show (same with Walking Dead & Vikings).

@Happygal: It's super helpful to hear from all the ladies and their experience with the different treatment protocols. I feel like everyone is so supportive and the information provided is so much more personal hearing from those who are in the same boat. DH used to tell me that lingerie wasn't his thing cuz it all comes off anyway & is just another obstacle, but the appreciation is there. I'm glad your lap helped!

**i think I'm in the TWW now. My OPKs are still showing strong positives but it could also be from the trigger shot on April fool's day. I'm also trying to test out my trigger with OPKs cuz I don't have enough HCG tests. Progesterone b/w is on 4/9 as well as more b/w to prepare for an IUI next cycle if needed. WTF phone consult w/RE on 4/15 & hopefully I can POAS that day & get my BFP!

    Happy Friday everyone!

@lazypanda: this is the one matching set of lingerie I own, and it was given to me by a friend! I do feel pretty wearing it though, so perhaps I should invest in some more just for me. My husband also doesn't really seem to care.

In the lazypanda-Pollyanna spirit, here are my three positives for the week:

    1. I signed on for another consulting project, which should be steady income for the next year.

    2. It's not freezing and our farmer's market opens this weekend.

    3. My RE appointment yesterday was positive, and I felt a glimmer of hope for the first time in awhile!

@MrsTal: When you took the second tests was it the same urine from the original test? What DPO are you now?

@Happygal: Glad your appointment went well and it sounds like you have a plan

@babycanuck: Sorry for the long wait We had to wait about 8 weeks for our initial consult as well.

@TheReelDeal: Yay! Hope this is it for you FX

Update: The hysteroscopy went well today once they were able to get past my cervix.....ugh. It is affiliated with a teaching hospital and I had a fellow doing the test today and he couldn't get past my cervix so it was kind of painful. One of the doctors stepped in and was able to do it. The showed me the inside of my uterus which was pretty cool, apparently everything looks good and they will forward the results to my doctor and we will discuss it at my appointment at the end of May

My three positives for this week:

    1. I got a haircut today and I feel like a new woman!
    2. I got my mark back on my project and I did really well
    3. My SO is taking me on a "date" tonight

@FaithFertility: lol, I actually had to check. But no, I think Jordan is considered more of the middle east, next to Saudi.
@babycanuck: Wow June!? I was upset I couldn't get a next day appointment, I can't imagine waiting 2 months. Maybe a little miracle will happen and you wont end up needing that appointment!
@Happygal: I love to see amazing old ruins and Petra is next up on the list!
@TheReelDeal: @lazypanda: You can test out triggers with OPKs? I didn't know that! I though you had to use pregnancy tests. FX for you guys!

I'm CD2 and taking a 1 cycle break from meds, which means a loooong 45ish day cycle. In trying to be optimistic, my 3 positives this week:
1: My IUI which I was expecting to pay a few hundred for, was only $40, my copay.
    2. Work went really well. I'm almost done integrating/debugging my software.
    3. I have a huge glass of wine in front of me...

alright, so i think i'm finally ready to join one of these threads.

today sucked. it started with a 730 ultrasound, haven't heard results on that yet, then i had blood work and my HSG this afternoon. thirteen tubes of blood, it was insane! during the HSG the dr had trouble getting the catheter in, then she got it in but couldn't do anything so she took it out, had to clamp my cervix, then use a smaller catheter. she wasn't sure what was going on with my uterus, but it's either bicornuate (abnormal heart shaped uterus) or i have a giant fibroid. one tube was open, but the other couldn't even be found. i have to go for a 3D uterine ultrasound to figure out what's going on there. i'm also starting thyroid meds for mild hypothyroid.

favorite current tv show: hmm.... i don't really have one, so many great shows have ended recently!

    three positive things:
    1. my mom asked if she could play chauffeur to my appointments this afternoon, i thought it was a little silly, but she seemed to want to, so i agreed. i was really happy she was there after, she's amazing.
    2. i'm usually awful for blood draws, my veins collapse really easily, but today i drank 5 big water bottles and we used heat packs before taking blood and it was the best blood draw i've ever had (even with 13 tubes being taken!)
    3. it's raining and i always sleep best during the rain (i can only hope the kittens sleep better during the rain as well! winnie still gets me up a couple times a night)

@mrs. bird: Welcome! I'm sorry for all the hassle with your tests today and 13 vials is a lot... I only had to do 8 and I was freaking out. I'm like you and my veins collapse easily but I have never heard of using heat first. Hopefully the 3D ultrasound will give you some answers

@mrswin: Glad the hysteroscopy showed nothing wrong, but ouch with the cervix. As for the questions I'm 14 dpo and tested with the same urine. I started spotting this afternoon so I figure AF will be here in full force tomorrow.

@mrs. bird: welcome! Sorry about all your blood and tests.

I need to play the positive game.

    1. We are only seven days away from our anniversary vacation.
    2. My puppies have been super lovey and awesome this week.
    3. All my spring break programming is ready for while I'm gone and the kids are super excited about it.
    4. Since I've started eating cleaner I've lost 7 lbs total.

    @MrsTal: @mrs. bird: @PurplePumps: @mrswin: @Happygal: I'm loving everyone's positives!

@PurplePumps: I'm not sure we're supposed to be testing it out with LH tests but doing it for fun because I have so many OPKs & my RE had told me that the OPKs don't work well for me to see if I've ovulated on my own. It definitely picked it up this clomid cycle on the day of my ultrasound. At least POAS on the OPKs are cheaper than POAS on the FRER.

    @Mrs.Polish: hope you're doing well!

    My additional 3 positives are:
    1. I had a very productive day at work & was appreciated by the kids & staff I work with.

    2. DH & I followed through with RE's orders & got in some extra days too.

    3. I love that we have a great number of ladies sharing their positives! The optimism on this thread is contagious!

So I took the time to actually look at the instructions on my OPK and I've been reading it backwards hahaha!!! So lame. I've been thinking the everybody gets a trophy line is the test line. Just a reminder that reading (and looking at pictures) is fundamental. I'm laughing at myself so hard right now. False alarm!! Haha!!

But good thing--it sounds like they've already found what could be keeping things from happening, which is awesome! I just got a diagnosis this week, and I'm not sure how much that is going ot help me out. When will you go back? I'm feeling positive for you.
