Whoa! So much to catch up on!
I'm on my last day of provera (finally), and just waiting for AF so we can get our first IUI started.
My favorite tv show right now is the Office. We had never watched it, until we started binge watching it last month. Now we are almost done with season 5.
The 3 things I'm excited about:
1. My BFF is coming to town today to play
2. Hubby is off all weekend, and finishing up some projects at the house
3. It isn't freezing cold/snowing outside!

@EmilyE: Yay to finishing provera I hope AF comes soon ans your on your way!!!!!!

@mrswin: heat packs are great! when you're warmer it helps your blood circulate better and then you're less likely for your veins to collapse, lots of fluid helps, too!
@Happygal: no wine, poor mr. bird got home around 9 & found me curled up in a ball crying because i was in so much pain. it sucked. i spent saturday on the couch. i'm sorry it's taken you so long to get a diagnosis! i have a couple appts coming up, tomorrow mr. bird has an appt at the RE for some blood work & one at the urologist. friday i have to go to a special clinic for the 3D ultrasound of my uterus and then the 28th we meet with the RE to go over the ultrasounds, HSG, blood work, SA, and figure out where we go from here. it seems so far away even though it's really not!
@EmilyE: exciting! you must be happy to be done with the provera, i hate that stuff!

@faithfertility: I hope you kicked the urea! Let us know how your appt. went.
@Mrs. Bird: your RE sounds thorough and it's great you're zipping along with things. I hope you were able to rest on Sunday and are feeling better. The poking and prodding with all this testing is no joke. Endo is now my official diagnosis, but I don't know if it's really going to change things for me....we shall see!

Hi! Figured I'd join this month.
We've been trying for almost a year. I'm currently on cycle 10. Hubs has had 2 SA so far, both with very low morphology and motility, although the second one did improve slightly. We just saw my OB last week. Wasn't really that impressed with him, the guy seems to think just because Hubs has low numbers, there's nothing wrong with me and I don't need to have any tests done. Was like pulling teeth to get him to schedule pelvic ultrasound. Long story short, we're currently waiting for more tests and Hubs is taking Fertility Blend.
My favorite show right now is Once Upon a Time. Total guilty pleasure show!

@mrs. bird: Good to know....I will file that bit of info away for later!
@TheReelDeal: Any update??
@MrsTal: How are things? Did AF show?
@Mrs. Polish: Hi! Nice to see you

@Warbler: Welcome! Is there anyway you could see an RE instead? At least you have identified part of the issue but you getting a full work up would help to rule out any other issues
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Warbler: hello and welcome! I second @mrswin:'s suggestion of seeing an RE. Is there one in your area? They can get you through the testing and

I do want to see an RE, but I thought we had to see an OB first. Warbler = newbie. I will gladly drop this guy in a heartbeat!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Warbler: I don't think it's necessarily a newbie move! Some OBs are great about getting testing done for their patients. But when someone is dragging their heels about it, I think it's time to move on.
bananas / 9628 posts
@Warbler: it depends on your ins. we have an HMO, so i made the appt with the RE and called my primary care & asked that they fax a referral in for me. since you haven't been trying for a year just yet, it might be easier to have your SO ask for the RE referral since he has a documented issue. do you have IF coverage?
bananas / 9628 posts
@Happygal: i hope she's thorough! oddly, i haven't met her yet! her PA did my initial appt (we didn't get along, i hope i don't have to see her again) and i met with another RE when i had my HSG and my RE just has her nurse call to relay things to me. i may have been a little pushy when i first made the appt, i requested CD3 labs from my PC to bring with me and asked to book my HSG when i was scheduling my first appt because i knew the window they wanted it done in and i would have needed to wait another cycle if i didn't get it done right away (my cycles are long & irregular, waiting would have been a pain). i am all about advocating for yourself in the craziness that is our healthcare system! were they able to remove much of the endo during your lap? are you more comfortable now?

@mrswin: I'm ok. AF showed up Saturday night. I'm ok with it, as it means I can drink and use the hot tubs on my cruise next week.
cherry / 115 posts
@happygal: Definitely agree with you there. Ain't nobody got time for that!
@mrsbird: Do you have Kaiser by any chance? I do and the way they explained it to me was that I have coverage for all of the tests and procedures EXCEPT for IVF. I will try to see if we can get a referral, thanks for the suggestion!
bananas / 9628 posts
@MrsTal: drinks and hot tubs sound like heaven! enjoy! where is your cruise to?
@Warbler: we have BCBS. we just upped our plan in march knowing we were going to use the crap out of it. i feel very fortunate to live in MA where ins companies are required to cover IVF, i hope you never have an occasion to need that coverage though
kiwi / 636 posts
@MrsTal: boo to AF but yay for a potential permanent souvenir from your cruise!
@Warbler: welcome! Definitely not a newbie move. With kaiser, you do have to see the OB before you can see the RE or at least call your OB to make the referral. But if your DH already has known issues, then you might want to ask for a referral from his doctor. I thought Kaiser has IVF as an option as well though? Or is it your particular plan that does not cover it?
cherry / 115 posts
@lazypanda Both the urologist and my OB said that they don't cover it. I think it may be a regional thing though, because I know there are KP IVF centers in Sacramento, Fremont and San Fran.
clementine / 901 posts
@mrs. bird: It's to Belize and Cozumel. I'm getting so pumped, no idea how I will make it through this week!
@lazypanda: I'd love a permanent sovenir
I was on the phone with our billing specialist today and apparently our doctor has changed our diagnosis code from unexplained to male factor. I'm not sure what to think of this, except was the SA from our IUI so bad that they decided it was MF? It doesn't make sense when his first SA was fine.
@Warbler: Welcome! I hope your stay here isn't too long.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Happygal: NO apt for me today RE had to be in a surgery and I wanted to chat with him while we were there so I go Wednesday!! Thanks for checking
@Warbler: Go with your gut, if you want further testing push for it!!! Welcome!!!!!!
@MrsTal: Sorry about AF, but I am glad you will be AF free for a wonderful cruise!!!!! I too hope you being home a cruise baby but no pressured, enjoy your time!!!!
Is there anything coded with insurance that would be covered if he switched it to MF??? That might be a reason!
Update: Going to RE Wednesday to get re screened to make sure we got rid of urea, was suppose to go today, but RE got called into surgery! I am CD 30 today from last AF 3/9 ..Praying for a cruise baby miracle!!!!
Anyone watch the ACM awards last night????

Also heard this on the radio: Remember a shadow is caused by the blocking of the light, even though it can't be seen in that one spot, look around the light is there!!!!!! It really spoke to me!!!!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@FaithFertility: When would you be testing????
@MrsTal: Yay for drinking and hot tubs!!! I hope you enjoy your vacation Weird that they changed the diagnosis but hopefully they can explain it to you at your next appointment
@mrs. bird: Good for you for advocating. It took me too long to learn to do this and as a result I wasted almost a year of time with my 1st RE
@Warbler: Hopefully you can just use the OB to get the referral.... if it has been 10 cycles/1 year already then it should meet the requirement
eggplant / 11861 posts
@mrswin: I don't know.....lol i think Wednesday before I go to RE....why not right....lol
nectarine / 2433 posts
@FaithFertility: Hahaha sorry you can ignore me! I am living vicariously through you since I haven't even O'd yet this cycle

@FaithFertility: I'm not sure what DPO you are but I'd hold off on a digital till tomorrow, the line is pretty light and you don't want to get a false negative. Congrats momma!!!

Ladies DH saw it..soooo I will re test tomorrow with a digi and I also go to RE here is to hoping we add a beta test to rhe mix
