I think I'm finally comfortable joining.
Very brief recap: Married Aug 2011, began TTC Dec 2012. Just started cycle #16 TTC. DH had an SA Nov 2013 which came back normal. I have an HSG scheduled for next cycle on May 9th. Other than b/w to check iron levels, thyroid levels, etc. (which were all normal - I had a slight vit D deficiency, but I'm taking a daily supplement to help correct that), I have had no other IF tests (yet).
My current favorite TV show is The Walking Dead.

My current favorite tv show is Star Wars The Clone Wars. It isn't on air anymore, but I'm catching up on Netflix. I only have a season and a half left to watch. I'm going to be sad when it's over.
I'm still taking the pill and waiting. I've been having some mid cycle spotting, which is unusual. I hope this month flies by because I'm ready to get started.

Favourite show right now is Scandal!
I have my hysteroscopy tomorrow afternoon. I am a little nervous but this is the last test before we can start scheduling our IVF cycle. We are in the final stages of planning our trip and I am getting really excited about it now

@doxielove: Glad you decided to join. Good luck with your HSG. Did you have CD3 and CD21 blood work done too?
@Leialou: Do they monitor you at all while you are on the BCP?
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@mrswin: they don't. The first monitoring appointment I will have will be to make sure the pills worked and everything is "quiet." Then I start Lupron followed my estrogen and progesterone. I hope your hysteroscopy goes well!

@doxielove: Welcome friend!!
I just got back from the RE... I started a post will all my questions Our next step is meds, IUI and trigger shot (if I understand it all right...) I haven't quite wrapped my head around all of it.
Current favorite TV show? Hmm... A lot of my favorites have ended or been cancelled. I like Glee and Hell's Kitchen lately!
persimmon / 1388 posts
@mrswin: Not yet! I'm still working w/ my OBGYN and things have been moving kind of slowly (not complaining - I haven't felt the urge to get super aggressive as far as testing goes).
@LindsayInNY: Going to read your update now!

@LindsayInNY: I'm sooo excited that you have a game plan!! When do you think you'll move forward w/ the IUI?

@doxielove: welcome & woohoo, walking dead is one of my favorite shows! I was a little disappointed with the season finale on Sunday though.
Another favorite show is Downton Abbey. I love the period pieces and watching the drama unfold for each of the characters.
@mrswin: good luck tomorrow! I hope it's what helps you in this IF roller coaster!

@doxielove: Next cycle. Eep. It hasn't really hit me yet... I think it was just a lot of info all at once. And it kinda bums me that it won't happen "naturally" either. =/
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
favorite TV - I'm excited Mr Selfridge is back on PBS as my substitute for Downton Abbey. Have a bunch of Modern Family on the DVR. and I'm excited for Mad Men to come back even though I don't always get that show.
updates - BFN for my third IUI and 8th lifetime clomid cycle, thinking AF will show up this weekend. I'm pretty sure we're done with clomid. planning to go unmedicated this cycle (cue sigh of relief) except for metformin, and have an RE appt on the 16th to discuss next steps (since we're moving we probably won't do more cycles there, just want his opinion on things). I feel ok about not being pregnant this cycle, just crappy about the prospect of starting over in Texas. hopefully we can find an RE who will let us jump right back in.
but in great news, we bought a house in Dallas and things seem to be almost finalized. our inspection didn't bring up anything crazy so we're just negotiating for smaller repairs. I'm a little worried about the appraisal but at least we'll know that by Monday. then I think we just wait for our Apr 29 closing date. I'm so excited to have a house! there are great things about city life and we love Boston, but I'm also ready to not have to do coin laundry in the basement, not have to park 1/2 mile away with groceries, etc. and I figure all the house stuff (we need basically everything under the sun, including a second car, since we've never owned or had a big place) will help distract me as we do work through the next steps for IF stuff.

@LindsayInNY: Good luck with your first and hopefully ONLY IUI! I love Hell's Kitchen. My husband and I have been watching it for years. Nothing cracks us up as much as that show.
@mrswin: Good luck tomorrow! I just scheduled mine for Monday, the 14th. Were you instructed to take 800mg of Advil one hour prior? That's my RE's recommendations and what I've done in the past.
@bhbee: Congrats on the big move! That's exciting!
Just waiting on my hysteroscopy and then waiting to start the pill end of May for our IVF cycle.
Favorite current shows are Survivor and Hell's Kitchen.

@doxielove: Welcome! I hope your stay is short and sweet.
@Leialou: I'm ready for you to get started too. When are your next steps?
@mrswin: I hope your hysteroscopy goes well! One step closer!
@LindsayInNY: Good luck with your IUI! I'll head over to your other thread and see if I can add anything.
@bhbee: I'm excited you guys found a house! I'm sure that everything is going to keep you so busy you won't have time to think about all this other stuff for a while. I hope you find a good RE in Dallas so you can easily move to your next steps when your ready.
As for me I'm 13 dpiui and BFN this morning. Fully anticipating AF to show up this weekend. Hooray. Next cycle will be unmedicated as we are going to be on our cruise during my fertile week (woot!).
We are currently trying to decide what to do next because DH numbers for our IUI were so bad. I am pushing for a second SA but the RE's office just wants us to do another IUI since we essentially get a SA with our IUI. However, it's $800 per IUI cycle so I don't really want to spend that kind of money if they are going to tell us that his numbers are bad enough we should go straight to IVF (which is something he said during our IUI this cycle). We are trying to get the numbers from our IUI and the first SA to see how they compare to the WHO standards, which I think will heavily influence our decision on what to do next.

@Jenn23: I was given an antibiotic to take one hour before with instructions that I can also take two Advil at the same time. Hopefully that will be enough! How does the procedure compare to the HSG in terms of pain/discomfort?
@LindsayInNY: I will have to go check out your post but I am glad you have a plan. We are going to France and Spain!
@bhbee: Sorry about the BFN. I am happy you were able to find a house, so exciting and I'm sure it will keep you busy!
@Leialou: Thanks! Are you on a long protocol? (ETA: Sorry I have a ton of IVF questions!)
@doxielove: Well the HSG is a good step since you had the SA done already. I would suggest getting at least the CD3 blood work done because that will give you a lot more info especially if your HSG is all clear.
@lazypanda: Thanks!

@MrsTal: We have MF issues as well....let me know if you have any questions once you get the numbers
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@MrsTal: I think the first week of May. I don't have my official schedule yet.
@mrswin: don't apologize! Yes, I am.
persimmon / 1085 posts
@mrswin: I didn't have an HSG so I can't compare the pain. My remaining tube blockage was seen during a lap cyst surgery. I believe from what I read a few years back, that HSG's tend to be more painful overall? But I know the pain varies greatly for both procedures from woman to woman so who knows? I would take at least 600 mg advil, though. My RE office says 800mg and I've always taken the 4 tablets. I had just what felt like bad cramping for about 2-3 minutes both times I had it done. Once the camera was in, all was good. Good luck tomorrow!!!
@Leialou: You are doing the long Lupron protocol? That's what I'll be doing. How long will you be on the pill? Good luck!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@Jenn23: yep! I'll probably go off the pill the first week of May when I start Lupron. They wanted me to start it by April 16th. My cycles have been long ever since my failed fresh cycle so I went ahead and started the pill with my last period a couple weeks ago. So I think I will be on it for about 6 weeks total.

@lazypanda: I agree, the finale was very anticlimatic. I was disappointed!
@LindsayInNY: Oh my goodness, that it awesome! How great would that be if next cycle is "it" for you!?
@bhbee: @MrsTal: Sorry about the BFN's
bananas / 9229 posts
@Jenn23: Same here!! We started watching in season 2 or 3, when we first started dating
@mrswin: Ooh, I'm jealous!! If nothing happens this cycle, we're thinking of going to London to visit friends over Thanksgiving. This cycle would be an early January due date so I should be safe to travel one more cycle out...
@doxielove: It's a mix of awesome and nerve-wracking for some reason... I keep telling myself we have one more chance before it gets to that!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Leialou: Hope it flies by for you too!
@mrswin: Prayers for an easy procedure tomorrow!!!
@bhbee: I am sorry about this cycle not being it! Sounds a if you have some awesome things going on right now! Congrats on the house and I hope you have/find an amazing RE and hit that road again soon!!!!
@Jenn23: Good luck with up coming cycle
@MrsTal: Pray you get a cruise baby!!!!!!
@LindsayInNY: That sounds like a good plan, I read on your other post about all the questions and it looks like many were answered, I too wanted to do TI first, but one of the reasons my RE does the IUI with all the meds is the meds can make your CM hostile to sperm, go figure, so the IUI helps the swimmers get to where they need to go! I know it is solo overwhelming at first, but I promise after it all you will think that was not too bad, I pray you are one and done!!!!!!!
Update: Finished our antibiotics today to kick that bacteria we have urea plasma that can cause m/c, on my new aspirin and new pre natal vitamins for my MTHFR diagnosis, so hoping this works!!! I go to RE Monday to get "swabbed" again to make sure the bacteria is gone, if so I am hoping to start another IUI cycle soon, I am getting impatient!!!
AF is due this weekend so let's see if she decides to come on her own, which would be great, unless we Magically made a cruise baby

Ohh favorite show: Greys Anatomy and Scandal
My favorite week day IF board update and my fav shows!

Favorite TV shows now: The only ones I follow now that HIMYM is over is Greys and Scandal.
Update: First IUI was a failure, AF reared her ugly head today. DH is going on a business trip right when I'd O again, so we're out next month. On the brighter side, my consolation prize for not being able to have a kid this year since I have 3 weeks of vacation time to kill... a trip to Jordan.
clementine / 901 posts
I forgot to post my favorite show Call the Midwife! Love it so much!
@mrswin: I appreciate that. Did your DH have MF from the first test? His first SA was normal but then with our IUI his numbers dropped drastically. Which is really throwing me off.
@FaithFertility: That's what I'm hoping for a cruise/4th anniversary baby! Maybe you made a cruise baby already and you won't have to do the IUI, but I'm hopeful if you do have to do the IUI that kicking the bacteria out and the MTHFR diagnosis helps make a sticky baby for you!

@PurplePumps: I'm sorry about your failed IUI, fairly certain I'm in that boat too and it sucks. Way to look at the bright side tho. I decided we are going to see the new Harry Potter park expansion in the fall since we won't be having a baby this year.

@PurplePumps: I am sorry to read this I hope you are feeling ok, it s a stinky day!!! Jordan as in Africa?

@MrsTal: Thank you!!!!!
I just wanted to let you know out of our 6 IUI RE does 2 b/b per cycle so DH has given 6 samples all were good, but one time on the 2nd cycle his numbers went way down, I was upset, but they we right back to normal again, sometimes it is a fluke!!!

@LindsayInNY: Hopefully this next step is exactly what you need, even if it is stressful. Good Luck
@bhbee: Congrats on the new house What an awesome thing! I grew up in the country, in a house. I remember how thrilled I was to not have to do laundry in laundry mat, even when it was just a crappy little rental house.
@doxielove: Good luck on the 9th
@Jenn23: Your lo is just so adorable, your profile pic makes me smile every time I see it!
@FaithFertility: I've got my fingers crossed for magical cruise baby
@mrswin: I am so jealous of your trip I studied abroad in Northern Spain, and we went back last summer. After I introduced DH to Santander last summer, we both day dream about moving there some day. Where in Spain are you headed? I loved Madrid and Toledo, but never made it down to Southern Spain or Barcelona.
Update: I just posted on a thread that I had started earlier, I have a lap scheduled for May 22. My dr. suspects either endometriosis or scar tissue. Out of 4 progesterone tests, I have "passed" 3, so I am ovulating at least most of the time. That will take us to the year mark of ttc and hopefully it is what we need to finally have our baby.

@owlteach: We are heading to Barcelona and then going to Paris.
@PurplePumps: Sorry about the BFN. Your trip sounds awesome
@MrsTal: Yes, we have had MF issues all along. He has had the odd cycles where it is worse than others but it is usually after he has been sick. Its good that they are going to re-test
@LindsayInNY: Sounds like a fun trip too. FX this cycle is it for you
@FaithFertility: Thanks! I vote for a cruise baby

I'm a bit behind on watching my shows, so I don't know.
Between Grey's, Revenge, Glee, Scandal... it's just ehh.
Updates for me. I had some bad cramps today so I think I'm about to ovulate. We BD'd a couple days ago and will try to BD soon, so I guess I can say I'm in the TWW. It would be awesome to get pregnant before our IVF cycle. It would be a miracle, though. Just putting a smidge of hope but trying not to get my hopes up.

Favorite tv show: I have LOTS!! Our DVR is always filled up. Right now it's Teen Mom 2, Chicago Fire/PD, Survivor, idol, Real World, you know; legit stuff
Updates: CD21 today. This has been the 1st cycle without meds in 7 months!!! Goodbye headaches!! I started working out with the girls at work doing a 90 day challenge. I used to be really toned and I would love to get back to that. Bikini season is right around the corner !!!!!

@bluestriped bee: fingers crossed for you !! we have been lucky 2 times with getting pregnant the month before his SA, and last month of clomid. Sadly neither lasted, but it still happened !!!

@FaithFertility: would you feel obligated to name the baby the name of the boat if you magically got KU?
