@mrs. bird: Oh my, I'm so sorry! Why can't you go home early and take some good pain meds? You need to rest. Sounds like you are having a terrible post-op recovery. I'm sorry. I hope you feel better soon!!!! (((hugs)))

@lindsayinny - spotting; progesterone - I was a late ovulater/irregular ovulated so it mostly happened on those long cycles 40+ days for me. Regardless of why, my RE has me on progesterone now. So maybe that will help?? Have you tested yet?
@owlteach - good luck Thursday! I hope that you get some answers and have a speedy recovery! You're trip sounds super fun, where in Europe will you be going?
@cupquakewalk - That is great that you were able to get in early. Waiting for appointments is the worst! Wow 40 cysts is a lot! Do you have PCOS? I have heard of lots of antral follices - I had 33- but never that many cysts! Hopefully, you get some answers and start moving forward soon!
@mrs.bird - That sounds awful! Are you able to take some time off to rest? I am such a whimp about that stuff, I'd lay myself up for a while. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this!
As for me, I had my ultrasound and we saw gestational sac in my uterus! Woohoo! But there was nothing in the sac, but my RE said that is to be expected since I am only 5 weeks. I have another ultrasound in a week, and hopefully then we'll see a yolk sac and fetal pole. Anyone have an ultrasound this early? I am just so happy nothing is in my tube!

@septca: Thank you so much for the reassurance Especially the part about the quick recovery...dh just lost a great aunt, his grandmas sister. He really wants to be at the service on sunday, but it is about 4 hours away. I am really hoping that we can go, even if I just chill at grandmas the whole weekend. He is very close with her and wants to be there to support her!

@owlteach: based solely on my experience, I think you'll be fine. Just take it REALLY easy and bring lots of pads, stretchy pants, and Advil. The car ride will probably be the worst part. You should bring a pillow to put between your belly and the seatbelt (for the ride home from the hospital too). Good luck!!!

@EmilyE: I had an us at 5w1d to rule out an EP. Same experience as yours - all we saw was that the sac was in the right place. Had another at 6w1d and saw the hb! Good luck and congratulations again!

@Happygal: That's a lovely number! Do you suspect multiples or is it just one robust LO???
@EmilyE: Congrats on your scan results! Sounds perfect!
@owlteach: Your trip with the high schoolers sounds like tons of fun! Where will you go? Wishing you a speedy recovery (and good news) from your lap!!! And it does feel good to have a plan...now if I could just stop feeling so impatient.... At least I've got plenty to do in the meantime!
@CupQuakeWalk: What a lot of (helpful) information!!! Hope you get a good plan going at your 2 week follow-up!
@mrs. bird: I was getting ready to ask...I'm so sorry that you're feeling so rough!!! Is the any way you can take a personal or "sick" day? FX for a great-looking post-op scan. Feel better soon!

@CupQuakeWalk: I'm glad you had a productive appt. I hope your RE will help you come up with a plan for how to approach your situation. If your LO was conceived by a slim chance, that means it's possible to still have that chance once again.
@lindsayinny: I hope your spotting is a symptom of BFP! My FX are crossed for your update tomorrow!
@sunshine1810: those insulin needles are the same ones I used for my trigger shot! DH gives me my trigger shots and it's done on the back of my arm so I can't see when he is injecting the shot.

@MrsMcD: when will you be starting clomid?
@sunshinemcc: I'm sorry I have no experience. Will your RE have you guys do TI with the two cysts? How do they know it's a cyst and not a follicle?

@bhbee: good luck with tomorrow's u/s! Tomorrow will be when you "graduate" from your RE right?

@owlteach: good luck with your lap on Thursday! When would the Europe trip be & to where? What grade(s) do you teach?
@mrs. Bird: I'm sorry your recovery is not going so smoothly. I hope it doesn't stay this way & that you are getting a lot more rest & relaxation this week.
@emilye: yay for seeing a gestational sac! I hope you get to see what you want to see next week! When do you find out the results of beta #3?
@happygal: you were so worried earlier this month about only having one follicle & it really did just take one Sperm (or maybe more!). What is your take on multiples?
As for me, my RE asked me to do my beta #3 today & I'll get my results tomorrow morning. The nurse just said that they want to make sure I'm no longer registering pregnant before they have me start the next round of clomid. I'll know more from them tomorrow. My cycle is super weird on clomid though, last month AF was only 2 days & it seems like it's only 2 days this time as well.

@lazypanda: We will be going June of 2016, and I teach mostly high school, but a little bit of middle school too I have all ages, which is pretty cool because get them as 8th graders or freshman and they usually stick around, so I get to build some pretty cool relationships with both students and their entire families. This is my 3rd year teaching and my 2nd year in the same school and I'm already so sad to see this years seniors go, I can't imagine what it will be like in 2 or 3 years!

@CupQuakeWalk: @Snowdrop: @Jenn23: @EmilyE: @FliegepilzHut: @lazypanda: & @Leialou: thanks, ladies! I'm a nanny, so it makes it hard to be able to just head home early since I'm dependent on someone else coming home to relieve me. I'm up at 3 because my stomach is killing me from the antibiotics and now I have hives up my arms, possible from stress, I've been getting stress hives lately. Or from the antibiotic, not sure. It says right on the bottle that it causes diarrhea, but that if it becomes severe to call your healthcare provider. It would be one thing if I just had to go frequently, but my belly HURTS and is so bloated, and I don't know if the vomiting is because I ended up sweating bullets with a fever yesterday or more likely related to the damn antibiotic, but heaving with the damn balloon in me is miserable. Being positive: 1130 tomorrow morning the balloon is getting taken out! And I finish the antibiotics tomorrow! Negative: I'm out if Percocets which are the only reason I've slept through some of my discomfort. Boohoo. Oh well, she was pretty generous with them.
@lazypanda: good luck tomorrow that is really short, is your lining holding up while on clomid?
@EmilyE: wonderful update!! So exciting!
pear / 1846 posts
@mrs. bird: roll on 11:30 tomorrow! You will make sure you mention the fever tomorrow won't you? Also if you have any take ome codeine for the pain as this will help your diarrhoea also and maybe some live yoghurt and cold pasta/potatoes for your poor bowels, antibiotics can wreak havoc on them.

@lindsayinny: it seems like I started spotting with medicated cycles before my period. Maybe 1-2 days of brown stuff.
@owlteach: good luck with you lap! The best advice I got was from Mrs.Win about having a heating pad ready. That really helped with those trapped gas pains. I recovered from the major pain quickly, but it took my body awhile to deflate and feel back to normal. I was scolded my the nurse to be patient with myself.
@cupquakewalk: that is a lot to take in, but it's so great they were able to pinpoint things and help you out! What is the plan going forward?
@snowdrop: it's a balance--keeping some hope, but being prepared for that BFN. I hope AF stays away!
@Mrs. Bird: oh no--that sounds miserable. I'm so sorry. how are you feeling today?
@emilye: what a good moment! I'll wait until 6-6.5 weeks to get an ultrasound. When is your EDD?
@fliegepilzhut: oh lordy, I hope not! I guess I would work towards being excited, but I would prefer a singleton. My husband, on the other hand, says to bring on the twins!
@lazypanda: have you gotten your results back yet? Are you feeling up for another Clomid cycle?

How involved are your DH's in deciding what to do when there are options? Do you just sort of follow what your doctors suggest, or try to steer treatment in your own ways too? I was talking to DH this morning and he asked when we'd be 'trying' again, and I told him I don't know, we'll have to see after my next monitoring appointment on Friday. And asked him what if it doesn't work again, is he ready for the possibility of IVF (in other words paying for it). He said NO! I asked him what he wanted to do then and he said just keep trying. I just wanted to drop flat iron and strangle him. Keep trying... wtf, if *trying* hasn't work to this point, what the hell would we waste time just "trying" for nothing for. Would you force his hand and veto the decision, or do you think this is something he should agree to. I truly think it's the cost factor that is the only reason he is saying no. We have coverage up to 7500 for procedure and another 7500 for the meds, so it wouldn't be all out of pocket, though I'm not sure of the details of what we would have to pay.
ETA: I'm 35 this year, it's not exactly like time is on our side, I don't know he seems to glaze over this fact and not take it into consideration. Yes, people CAN still get pregnant even into their 40's but if I can't even now and chances certainly aren't going to get better for me.
clementine / 901 posts
@PurplePumps: I'm so sorry your DH is being stubborn. My own DH is big on listening to doctor's advice but he also is tired of trying. Could you bring your DH to your RE and have them lay out options and chances of conceiving with those options? I know numbers help my DH get on board with stuff.
pear / 1556 posts
@PurplePumps: You are not the only one who has had a reluctant DH when it came to moving on to IVF. My DH started off that way, but eventually came around. Would it help if you asked your RE for an approximate cost breakdown so that your DH would have a good idea of exactly how much you would be paying out of pocket? $7,500 might cover all of your medication costs. My meds were just under $6,000 but I know everyone has a different protocol.
@LindsayInNY: I am so sorry! I also have horrible cycles when I take Clomid.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@PurplePumps: I am so sorry. ((hugs)) My husband flat out refuses to discuss next steps until some vague point in the future that he won't set. I get where he's coming from given the specifics of our situation, but it maddens the planner in me. One thing that *really* helped with my husband when we were TTC before was having him come and sit with me in the doctor's office. Hearing my doctor explain everything and work through the statistics and probabilities really changed his tune. Maybe you could try that? (And p.s. that coverage sounds amazing! I am so jealous.)
bananas / 9229 posts
@Happygal: I didn't think of that! This heaviness SUCKS majorly but maybe that's the silver lining (pun intended!)?
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@LindsayInNY: I totally agree with @Happygal. Although it *sucks* I actually get really excited when AF is heavy... it means my hormones are working correctly to build a nice, deep, comfy lining. When we were TTC DD, my endo was keeping my periods super light (which, yes, is the opposite of how endo usually behaves). I'd have 3-4 days of light spotting before CD1, and then would only have 2-3 days of heavy spotting/really light flow, and then 3-4 more days of light spotting. That really worried me, and it felt like a needed a liner for darn near half my cycle. After my surgery, however, things returned to "normal."
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@septca: @MrsTal: @Sunshine1810: Wow, thanks ladies. So I guess it's not all that uncommon for us to be ready to move on earlier than the guys huh. He did go to my first appointment where we discussed what we could try up to the point of IVF. But I guess we need another to seriously discuss that if it comes to that. I just want him to be more open to it if it does. I'm just ready to have kids or say I've done all we can and move on with life if it isn't in the cards for us.
pear / 1846 posts
@PurplePumps: definitely think him being sat down by your RE is a good first thing o try. My DH has become so much more interested in the process since seeing the specialist. It's like he now 'gets' that we need help and that there really isa problem.

@LindsayInNY: i'm sos orry:( And yes, my HEAVIEST cycles were definitely clomid cycles. I like to think it is due to super strong O but who really knows.
@PurplePumps: I am so so sorry:( That is a tough situation. What we did (and it is too late for that now for you) is: we played the whole "decision making-game" BEFORE we went to the RE. I let DH be indecisive and I let him drag his feet and be super-slow in processing for a good 12 months. But, once we had our appointment set with the RE, we sat down and made a commitment that whatever the RE told us to do, WHATEVER he said, we would do. I just feel like, if it is to the point where people are seeking a specialists' help, then they probably *should* just roll with the punches and do exactly as prescribed. That doesn't mean you do things you aren't comfortable with, but if both parties are committed to the end goal and both parties believe in the expertise of the RE, then it shouldn't be a huge decision to even make.
Now that being said, we vowed that if ever it got to a point where we just couldn't afford it, we'd back out (until we saved up enough).
P.S: are you Jordanian? (I am) I see you're going there this year and thought i'd ask which city you're headed to:) I'm majorly jealous. Don't eat too much mensaf without me

@mrswin: Welcome back! Hope you had a great trip. I'm excited to hear about your upcoming IVF appt. and when you'll be starting. We could be cycling the same time!
@EmilyE: That is great news!! That is super early as others said, so not typical to see anything yet. At the next ultrasound you will probably get to see your little one!
@PurplePumps: I hope you guys are able to talk about moving forward. I don't have any good advice on the matter. Our only option was IVF after a few years of nothing working, then finding out my only tube was blocked, so we were both anxious to do it. I guess just be honest and tell him that you don't think trying any more is the best option and you are really eager and excited to move forward to IVF and what would it take for him to get to that point. Financially it sounds like you have great coverage. Meds and most of IVF should be covered for you which is great!!
@LindsayInNY: Sorry to hear. I hope as others' said, that this is a good sign that everything is working properly at least!

I can what-if myself to death though.
