Ladies - I think it's time for me to join this thread if you'll have me.

@septca: I want to say "the more the merrier" but that seems a little odd for this situation? But, you know you are completely welcome here!!!
My positive thing is that tomorrow is my last day at my job! New one starts on Monday and my parents are visiting for the weekend.
ETA: OMG, I forgot one of the most positive things! DH's genetic test results came back and he is NOT a carrier of the thing that I am. That is such a huge relief!!!
pomegranate / 3809 posts
hmm, it's kind of sad how hard it is to think of something positive that happen this week! The best thing about this week though is that it's the last week DH is away on his 4.5 week trip for work and he'll be back on Monday!... just in time for an IUI sometime next week.
bananas / 9229 posts
@PurplePumps: We all have weeks like that!! But, DH is back in time for IUI so that is positive for sure!!

@septca: welcome and hope you aren't here long!
My positive is that our grant application got in on time! I was really worried it wouldn't since it was due Wednesday and the doctor got it done at like 4:20 on Monday. I'm excited! We should know something in two weeks!
Going to call a clinical trial today to see if we can do the smaller monitoring here and then things like the ER/ET there (it's about a two hour drive) We will see what comes of it. I just want to get started as soon as we can.

Here's my positive...my dog wanted to be part of the photo shoot. Waiting now at the RE's for a beta. I always thought I would have restraint and wait to share, but I just couldn't do it!

@Happygal: woohoo! I'm so excited for your positive & we'll both have a happy & healthy 9 months!
@MrsTal: yay! I'm glad the grant got in on time! Good luck with today's call to the clinical trial!
@PurplePumps: having great timing is always a good thing!
@LindsayInNY: yay for the new job and hopefully no more stalking drama!
@septca: you are definitely most welcome!
My positive this week would be the outpouring of support from everyone on this thread!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
Thanks, guys.
@LindsayInNY: Congratulations, again! I am so happy for you. Enjoy your weekend and good riddance.
@PurplePumps: Ugh. I'm sorry. My husband also travels for work and is usually gone in big chunks. It sucks, but I do like to catch up on my bad tv while he is gone.
@MrsTal: Congratulations! That's great news!! Am I misremembering, or do you have a lap soon?
@Happygal: and @lazypanda:
SOOOO happy for you.
@lazypanda: It's always nice to have a stalker. Thank you very much for sharing your story (on the 05/08 thread - I am crossing over) - it does make me feel hopeful.

I got behind on replying to everyone on the last thread, but I tried to read along as best I could!
@EmilyE: @TheReelDeal: @Happygal: @lazypanda: Oh my goodness, SO many preg tests on the last thread, I hope I didn't miss anyone, but, CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! So thrilling when IF ladies get their
!
@LindsayInNY: SUCH great news about your DH's genetic test!
My positive this week is that I obtained a professional certification that I've been working on since August! (certified management accountant). I started studying last summer as a distraction from TTC. Now that that's finished (for now, I'll have to keep up w/ CPE's next year...)...what will be my new distraction!?
TTC updates: It's CD13 and I have had a gross amount of EWCM the past 2 days. I'm really not sure what's going on (ovulating waaaay early, or just fluke EWCM?) I didn't think that HSG's affected ovulation, though.
pear / 1846 posts
@MrsTal: great news about the grant!
I've off to my regular GP in a bit to see if she will refer me for my HSG. If she does it it is free if not it is £700, so fingers crossed.
I have also been dying some wool and now realise just how important the 'wear gloves' instructions were. My hands now look jaundice...oops.

@septca: welcome!
@LindsayInNY: woohoo!
@PurplePumps: wow, that is a long time to be apart! you must be thrilled to be getting him back!
@MrsTal: good luck with your grant, i hope you get it!
@Happygal: i love that your pup was eager to be involved with baby i'm so happy for you!
@doxielove: i O'd early (for me) after my HSG, sounds promising! congrats on your certification!

Hi ladies - I want to join!! I'm on CD 21 waiting for AF to start so I can start BCPs for an FET in July. I guess there is a chance I could be pregnant without IF treatment this month, but sooooo unlikely!! My positive from this week is chatting with the nurse at the RE's office and getting the go ahead to move forward! But now the waiting/anticipation begins again...
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
A bit of an introduction, since I am "new" (although not really, let's be serious). I am joining this thread even though I am only at cycle 7 because it is time for me to start taking my health seriously. Last time around, I ignored my health issues for a long time and was slow to get help even though my gut knew there was something wrong with me. This time things started going well once my cycles regulated, but then two things happened that snapped me back to reality - I had a CP last month, which hurt way more than I expected, and then my pain showed up with a vengeance this cycle. I am so hesitant to share this stuff with DH (that sounds so terrible) because he gets really freaked out when it comes to my health and tends to (in my opinion) overreact. Then again, he would say that I am *under*reacting, and - based on those two things - I think I need to listen to him more.
So. I am 2 DPO of Cycle 7, but I am 90% sure this cycle will be a bust, so I guess whomever can list me as "just hanging out." Next cycle, we go all kitchen sink on this TTC business. In the meantime, I have a plan: I am going to email my endometriosis doctor today and tell her what's up. She obviously knows about the CP, but I need to check in and tell her about the pain and start a discussion about what's next. I think I want to "try really hard" next cycle, and if that doesn't work, then I think I need to have another HSG (my 3rd) to make sure there is no new growth and see if we can get a better sense of what is going on with my left side. I really don't want to start the IVF discussion yet, but I think DH and I need to have a serious talk about our IVF timeline if all else fails.
Whew. Sorry for the novel.
My positives for this week are many - I am feeling very blessed by the universe today. My husband and I have *finally* found a regular gym schedule that actually works for us, which means we are both getting fitter and firmer and have more energy and better mental health (EXTREMELY important in our lives). Work is insane for the next few weeks, which is great because it is keeping my mind off of the TWW. And I am really optimistic about my chances to get a new job soon.

@Happygal: can't wait to hear your beta results!!! I feel like your update here is my positive for the week LOL!
@septca: welcome
My positive for the week (other than @Happygal being pregnant!!) was my brother's wedding in Mexico. It was so amazing, everything was perfect and we finally got my parents down there (it has been our 'place' and my brother/SIL's 'place' for the last 5 years or so) and they loved it too.
IF related, I'm sort of dreading going back into treatment mode. During my last IVF cycle I stressed myself into Shingles (seriously, that's how you get it) and so I'll be working on stress relief tactics going forward. I have my **first appointment with my new RE next Friday, the 23rd.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@lazypanda: @Happygal: I didn't get to respond in the other thread, but a huuuuuuuuge congrats!!!
@septca: lol,I did catch up in tv! lucky for him, I've been mostly working on house updates while he was gone though! Fixed outlets, hung mirrors, and painted all the bathroom cabinets! ... though I need him to hang the doors since I got new hinges and need new holes drilled.
pear / 1556 posts
@septca: Of course we will! Sorry you have to join us, but we are a great, supportive bunch!
@LindsayInNY: Yay for new beginnings at a new job! Also, so glad that your husband's results came back fine!
@PurplePumps: Glad DH will be back for IUI. I know it's hard to think of positive things sometimes. Hang in there!
@MrsTal: That's great you got your application in! Fingers crossed for you!!
@Happygal: I said it on the other thread but had to say it again, I am SO happy for you! Yay!!!
@doxielove: Congrats on your certification!!
@Snowdrop: Fingers crossed for you!!!
@GreenThumb: Welcome! I know, it is so hard to wait, but once you get going it will move so quickly!
@Shutterbug: Oooh your brother's wedding sounds like it was wonderful. I have never been to Mexico, but definitely want to get there. I can understand that feeling of dreading getting back into treatments. I always feel that way after I take time off. I'm not going to tell you not to stress because I know that's impossible and I HATE it when people say that to me. Have you ever tried acupuncture? That has really helped my stress levels. The gym helps too, but I love acupuncture. Best of luck to you!
I met with the nurse at my RE's office yesterday to go over injections (yay for progress)! She is kind of spacey though and some of the things she forgot to tell me, and things I needed to remind her of, really freaked me out. Other than that, things went well. I start Lupron injections tomorrow morning. I am a little nervous, but excited to get going! In another couple of weeks I will start the Gonal-F and Menopur as well. I also had my mock transfer this week and that went very well. I am so nervous, but excited too!
No news on the puppy front, but just thinking about getting another dog is such a happy thought each day for me. My mom also came to my appointment with me yesterday (DH had to work), and then took me out for a wonderful lunch afterward which was great! I am going out with all of my college friends tonight for Mexican food (my fave), and I will have my last alcoholic beverage (a raspberry margarita) for a while. It's my favorite drink, so it's all very appropriate!

@doxielove: congratulations on your certification!
@GreenThumb: hello! I hate the waiting that goes along with IVF and FET cycles.

Is it sad that I can't think of a positive from this week?? I didn't have a bad week, it was just ordinary. I've got the morning off and am going to story time at the library with my friend and her twins. That's pretty positive.
As for TTC, I'm heading back to the RE tomorrow for another blood draw. If everything looks good I'll be continuing with Lupron and Vivelle for another week. I'm two weeks away from transfer. I've been so busy that I'm still not stressing about it. When I'm on bed rest in the tww that will probably change.
I'm so happy to see all the BFPs around here lately!

@Happygal: your news is my positive for the week!!
I am in waiting mode for ultrasound next wed. Scared.
And I've reached the point where I will be crying daily about leaving boston friends - movers will be here a week from today and I take an evening one-way flight. Crazy.
I will try to catch up on replies at home later!

Hi everyone !!!
Currently hanging out waiting for AF to end. RE apt Tuesday 5/20- finance office from there called to let me know my insurance has no IF coverage (duh) and consult is $350 up front- which I already knew. I kinda tearwd up at work because I cannot believe this is our life..
Positives this week.... Boy oh boy- it's been a rough work week and not having time to have a plumber come by to put in hot water heater; but my parents graciously offered to sit at my house today while they come!! So my positive will be finally having a hot shower !!!!!
Also- DH and I have Friday Saturday and Sunday off together !!! Granted he is golfing 2 of the 3 days, he deserves it !!!
kiwi / 533 posts
@septca: glad you are feeling okay!! That's awesome to find a gym and feel good about your body! I am on day 55 of a 90 day challenge and feel so good about how toned I am getting!! Another girl at work and I are doing it and keep each other motivated every day of it!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@mrs bunchy: Seriously. Everything just kind of came together - a brand new, really nice gym opened 1/2 a block from our house, so it's really easy for DH and I to trade off mornings there. Now that I am getting back into running shape (I am thin, but not very strong right now), it feels SO GOOD.
kiwi / 533 posts
@septca: we probably have similar goals. I am also thin- but not strong at all!!

@Shutterbug: I know you're anxious about starting treatments over, but you've had a nice break between & maybe that will have a positive impact. If you want, I can give you the info for my old fertility acupuncturist, she's in westborough by Lyman st, could help with stress & fertility do find guided meditation helpful? I have this 'take a break' app & I do it before appts to center myself. It's a free app, but I really like it. I can't imagine shingles, I've been stressing myself into hives lately, you are such a trooper to go through everything while being sick!
@Sunshine1810: mmmmm! Enjoy that drink!
@Leialou: bed rest the during TWW?! Wow! That's intense hard to keep from thinking about it when you can't keep busy! So hoping it all pays off for you!

Surgery tomorrow. Getting things ready. Got a referral for mr. Bird to see a different urologist that works with our RE, got him an appt Monday morning. I'm going back and forth now, maybe we should just skip right to IVF. I really want to get KU the first wk of sept so I can have a late May baby & then be able to be back at school after the summer. IVF would increase our chances of that, frankly if it weren't for all the needles, I'd just do it. The needles are what's making me hesitant. Pathetic, I know. I guess my healing time will give us time to think about it.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@mrs. bird: do you mean the needles for blood draws or for medications? The medication needles are pain-free (assuming your Dr is like mine at our practice and doesn't prescribe PIO). The only thing that hurt was the Menopur, but that was the actual liquid going in, not the needle. If you mean the blood draws, ask your Dr (or nurse) about the saliva testing that they offer for estradiol (and I think progesterone) in place of blood work.
ETA: Good luck tomorrow!!!
pear / 1556 posts
@mrs. bird: Thanks! I most certainly will!
@mrs. bird: I start injections tomorrow, and I will let you know how they go. My friends have said that none of the injections are bad except like @Shutterbug said, the PIO. My RE does prescribe PIO and I am not looking forward to that, but the other needles look pretty small so I am hoping they won't be too bad. If that is the only thing holding you back, I would try to move on to IVF if you can. It will definitely increase your odds. Best of luck to you, and I'll update you on how my injections go! Good luck tomorrow!!!!

Our weekly check-ins are forever moving at light speed! I think I have more negatives than positives this week (that sounds horrible). I've just been so tired and anxious. I guess the best one is that we got approved via inspection to transfer housing. They said it should be less than a 2mo wait!
I mentioned in my last post that we finally got DH's date to leave--June 3. It's so soon! He's getting more details today at work but it looks like a month at another base then 4mo deployed. On the update front, exactly 3wk until my first ultrasound; I called this morning about bumping it up a week for DH but they have no availability. Fx someone cancels.
@LindsayInNY: That's so great DH isn't a carrier! Sounds like you have a good weekend ahead!
@PurplePumps: Yay for good timing with DH and your iui! Good luck!
@MrsTal: Good luck with your clinical trial call! And I'm so happy you were able to get your grant app in on time!
@Happygal: Congrats again! So cute that your pup is already an involved sibling
@doxielove: Congrats on your certification!
@Snowdrop: Good luck at your appt. Fx she refers you!
@GreenThumb: @septca: Welcome
@Shutterbug: Good luck at your upcoming appt! Your bothers wedding sounded like a great time!
@Sunshine1810: Moving right along to that retrieval! So exciting! Also, going out to eat is my happy place! Haha it just makes everything better
@Leialou: You're transfer is right around the corner!!
@bhbee: I'm glad you popped back in! I was thinking of you last night. Sending positive thoughts your way for your upcoming move & appt
@mrs bunchy: Good luck at your upcoming appt!
@mrs. bird: Best of luck tomorrow! And good luck to Mr Bird on Monday! Is he still waiting on that background check?
persimmon / 1085 posts
@mrs. bird: Good luck with your surgery. Let me tell you that I used to HATE needles and I mean HATE them. I've passed out over the years from them, when I got my ears pierced, it was rough. So you can imagine my thoughts about IVF needles. But honestly it is really not that bad. You really do just get used to them. I was giving myself my own Lupron shots after just a few days!! The PIO hurt, but only takes a few seconds. No biggie! Please don't let that persuade your decision. Anyway, good luck with the surgery!!
I posted on the other thread that I have to wait a month now for IVF because the lab is shut down. Not happy about this, because I was really ready! Well, now I just have to wait another month 1/2 to get started. Looks like late July will be our big week for retrieval/transfer now.
My positive this week is the nice spring weather we are having here! Temperatures are great.
@Happygal: I am just thrilled for you!! I love your dog holding the test! Can't wait to hear your beta!!
