@Kelli_Deluxe: oh Hun, I'm so sorry it's still so fresh in your heart, do you think you'll take his deployment as time for a break to heal or do you think you guys will freeze a sample incase you decide you want the option of being able to try again before he returns? You've got a little while to think about it before you have to decide. I'm so very sorry, big hugs to you & yours

@Kelli_Deluxe: *hugs*
Bad news here too, I didn't seem to respond to Letrozole at all. Now I'm regretting pushing to try it. Just came back from the monitoring session, it's CD13 and nothing. She didn't even bother to measure any follicles, there was nothing to measure. DH gets home tonight, and now I'm just so down I've lost all excitement, which is terrible. But this disappointment has just totally taken me over. I was so prepared for the trigger and iui this week.

@FliegepilzHut: When I first started looking at the IVF thread it really overwhelmed me. I then pretty much started at the most recent and started with those replies, and gave a little update on my situation. If you want to start some month boards I think that's a good idea too though!
@lazypanda: I'm sorry your beta was low! *HUGS* Those are some GREAT positives though!
@Kelli_Deluxe: I am so sorry, sending lots of hugs and prayers your way!
@PurplePumps: I'm sorry!! *HUGS* I know how disappointing that is. I know it's not much consolation right now, but I am sure they will find something to help you stim better than the letrozole. Fortunately there are a lot of options out there!

@PurplePumps: I'm sorry Letrozole did not work for you. It didn't for me either, even when they upped the dose. Do you have anovulatory cycles? If not, is it possible for you to ovulate on your own this cycle? The highest dosage of clomid is what works for me.
@Sunshine1810: thank you. How are the injections going?

@Kelli_Deluxe: I was sad to read this, and understand wanting to take a little break away from HB. We'll miss you, but take the time you need to get a game plan together and heal. I'm so sorry for your loss.
@PurplePumps: that is really frustrating. What did your doctor have to say?
@lazypanda: you are a blessing to have here! I hope you get to graduate very soon.

@lazypanda: Actually much better than I thought, thanks for asking! I am only doing the lupron right now, so those are pretty easy. The needle is tiny and they really don't hurt!

@Sunshine1810: cheers to tiny needles! How are you feeling about things?
Results from this morning's beta are back--they wanted that number to quadruple (so 144), and it was at 238. I cried.

@Happygal: YAY!!!!! That's so awesome!!!!!!! I am really happy for you! Yes, the tiny needles are great! I am actually feeling pretty good about things right now. I am not as anxious as I thought I would be, but that could change as I get closer to retrieval/transfer!

@Happygal: I've been checking this thread waiting for your update. SO happy to hear this news! You, my friend, are for sure knocked up

@Happygal: I'm so happy for you! Yay for the great betas!!! and thank you, I do hope everyone on here gets to graduate!
@Sunshine1810: yay for tiny needles! How big are the other needles? Are they like the trigger shot needles?
AF has decided to show up today! So I'm hoping it could still be an auspicious month in the sense that I get to drink my wedding wine tonight on my anniversary as well as at this week's wedding.

@lazypanda: I am attaching a picture I found that looks like the needles I am using so you get to see. Really thin, which is great. Smaller than trigger. So sorry AF decided to show up!!!

@kelli_deluxe - I am so very sorry to hear this! I understand needing to take time, we'll be thinking about you and here if you need us!
@purplepumps - that stinks that letrozole didn't work. I think it takes some playing around to get meds right, hopefully you'll get a good regimine and some results soon!
@happygal - yayayayayay! I'm so excited to glad to hear that! Keep growing little one!
@lazypanda - I'm sorry to hear that AF came. I'm glad that you are able to see the positive! Our second anniversary is today, when is yours??
I go in for my ultrasound tomorrow afternoon! I am so nervous that this little one is in the right spot! I feel like I've been holding my breath for a week!

@lazypanda: I do ovulate on my own, just fairly late, usually CD 26-30. The previous unmed cycle was the earliest ever for me at CD18. Clomid @100 worked for me to trigger around CD15-16, but I'd done 2 already, plus 2@50 (first worked, second didnt)... so after 4 rounds of Clomid, I was giving up on it.
@Happygal: aww, that's great news! So happy for you. I'm still waiting for my doc to call me back.

@EmilyE: same here! Happy 2 year anniversary to the both of us! Time flies by so quickly! DH was saying how it seemed so much longer! Good luck on tomorrow's u/s!
@PurplePumps: Will they increase the Letrozole to see if you'll respond? I hope that you'll get your BFP without the intervention this cycle then!
@MrsTal: thank you! When will they get back to you regarding the grant?
@jenn23: thank you! Would you like me to put you on the hanging out category until July?

@lazypanda: Next Wednesday I hope, they said two weeks from the deadline but I wondered if Memorial Day would throw things off a bit.

@lazypanda: Well, my retrieval/transfer will be in July, but I'll start BCP in June to begin the IVF cycle. You can mark me down how ever you'd like! I hope you are doing OK!

@MrsTal: I hope you get the grant!! It is full-coverage or partial? Crossing my fingers for you!!
clementine / 901 posts
@Jenn23: I think it can be either, as I think they give multiple grants for multiple procedures. There was a spot on our application that asked how much we could contribute ourselves, so I am thinking they take that into account

@lazypanda: I'm sure she would. She started me on 5, 7.5 is the max though right?

@MrsTal: Well, I hope you get a good chunk or all of it. That would be awesome!!

Hi ladies - I've been lurking lately (hope that's OK!), but need some input from you.
DH & I just did a medicated IUI cycle (our 3rd - low motility/morphology issues) - last Monday my hcg was only around 2.3, so that one was a no-go. AF came on Friday morning, and I had the most painful cramping I've ever had (even worse than post D&C). By Sunday afternoon, bleeding was done.
I had my baseline appt. this morning, as we were going to try one more medicated IUI cycle. They found two large cysts (over 25mm), and my estradiol is over 300.
So, the nurse called me back and they want me to take another hcg trigger tonight, to trigger ovulation and clear things up, as it appears that even though AF came for a couple days, it's a wonky cycle.
Does anyone have experience with anything like this? I've never experienced cysts before, and that freaked me out initially, but the nurse explained it's just a fluid-filled space, and that most of the time they go away on their own.
I'm curious if taking the hcg is necessary, or if it's OK to just wait this one out for the month? The nurse said that the same issue could persist next month if we don't deal with it, so I'm leaning towards taking the hcg. She also said that they can be painful (!) when they pop from the hcg, so that didn't sound fun either.
I so appreciate any thoughts, feedback or personal stories you can share. Thank you!

@SunshineMcC: I'm sorry that I don't have any advice. I just wanted to welcome you and send you my love & support! I hope this process isn't too painful and I hope someone on here can give you some advice as to how to handle it. Good luck:)

@SunshineMcC: hi, good to 'see' you I don't have any experience with cysts, but I've heard from other ladies on here that they just had to either pause treatments while they waited for the cysts to resolve, or go on BCP to quiet their ovaries. I haven't heard of using HCG to 'pop' them (not to say that isn't also a common treatment - like I said, I don't have any personal experience!) I agree with you though, that it sounds like a quick but painful approach

@SunshineMcC: Welcome! I haven't had cysts while TTC (at least not that I know of) but I do have PCOS and have had some in the past. Previously (because I wasn't TTC), I was put on BCP which worked. I haven't had experience with HCG though. I'm sorry you're going through this, and I hope they are gone quickly!

@SunshineMcC: Also coming out of lurkerdom to answer you. I've had that happen with the persistent cysts. They couldn't figure out whether it was the follicle from the previous cycle not going away or the next cycle's follicles recruiting and growing too early or whether it was truly a cyst or follicle. When they're as big as the two you've got I don't think you want to risk them growing and making you uncomfortable, so trying to get them to release with HCG sounds like a good idea. Will they do an ultrasound soon after to confirm? Do they think it could have been from your stim meds? I hope this doesn't happen to you again!

@Happygal: I'm so happy for your great beta!!
Thank you for all your kind words. My RE is back in the office Wednesday so I'll be calling him to discuss how to move forward. I'm going to push for chromosome testing for DH and I, and some girls in my FB group mentioned asking for a recurrent miscarriage blood panel to be done as well. Depending on what my RE thinks, I may go ahead & do the laparoscopic surgery over the next month or so, too. DH wants to freeze a sample just in case, so we will likely do that as well. I'll keep you all posted and continue to pop on & read all your updates!
