@TheSwissWifeStyle: That sounds really beautiful!
The short story is: Tried for 10 months, through a lot of pain, to conceive, then had a lap - discovered endometriosis and that BOTH of my tubes were blocked (doh!). Doctor was able to clear one tube. Got KU on cycle #13 with DD, who is 16 mo. Started TTC #2 seven months ago when I had to ditch my BCP because it was making me really depressed. Had an HSG in December - right tube still clear, left tube clear, but dye pooled in a way that makes my doctor uncertain whether I can get KU on that side (may be scar tissue blocking egg from getting out of ovary). Everything but the endo checks out clean. Had a CP last cycle and am still emotionally recovering.
Also, this is totally random, but I always get you confused with one of my IF friends from HB who was Swiss (but living in Canada). I don't think she ever made the switch over the HB, and I miss her.

@septca: Oh thanks for the update! Sorry for your CP And sorry you miss your friend! I'm American but live in Switzerland. Blah, sometimes I think I'd have a baby by now if I still lived in the US!
Best of luck!!

@TheSwissWifeStyle: That's interesting. I have a few friends who went through IF treatments in Europe (all in France, actually) and though the treatment was WAY better than in the US.
nectarine / 2600 posts
@septca: Well maybe you can give me some recommendations in France, if needed! I just don't get how a fertility clinic completely misses the fact that you have polyps! It's happened to a couple of people that I know, actually! Plus the laws regarding IVF here (in case we ever do go down that road) are simply insane.
But for now, I guess I'll stick it out with this OB. I think we want to do injections again, if it's a no-go this month. Because hello, we've "wasted" all this time already, we are so anxious. But my current doc is kind of against fert. drugs b/c of the possible side affects down the road. ::sigh::

@LindsayInNY: Hang in there!!! It's truly exhausting, but you've got a great plan!
@TheSwissWifeStyle: I don't know how they check for polyps...although hysteroscopy would probably be the most accurate way. I'm surprised they put you through general anesthesia though! Your tattoo sounds really lovely...and I don't think too many people would be bothered by the inconsistency...
@septca: I'm so sorry... Can we safely assume that your tube is currently open b/c of the chemical pregnancy...? Good luck to you!

@FaithFertility: Yay for graduating from your RE! I bet they can't wait for you to come visit with your baby!
@lazypanda: It is Pendleton! Are you in So Cal? The likelihood of him having to check-in Tues morning then being able to get off and come back 2 days later is next to zero. I did tell my doctor's office he's deploying.... I'm on the cancellation list and that's about all they're going to do I think. Boo. Also, I vote for not peeing on all the sticks this weekend. Enjoy that you ARE pregnant and enjoy your anniversary weekend! (I tested twice this week and had 2 meltdowns.... Lesson learned)
@FliegepilzHut: So glad you've got a plan with your RE!!!
@mrs. bird: Thinking of you today!! Prayers for an easy recovery!
nectarine / 2600 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Oh I wanted the anesthesia! lol I knew that's how he did it, so that's one reason I sought him out in the first place. And it turns out that I was full of 'em, so he was able to cut them out right then and there, and I was none the wiser. I'm a huge, HUGE wuss!
So if he's planning on some weird procedure to look again when I'm awake, not sure how on board with that I will be!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@FliegepilzHut: Yep - my right tube/ovary is good to go! It's the left that is a big question mark right now. So I TTC like crazy on "right side" months (like last month) and kind of lay low on left side months (like right now). And I spend a lot of time around O pushing in on my sides to see which is bigger/more tender so I can confirm side... On one hand, it would be awesome to get a "surprise" BFP from the left, but on the other, I would be super nervous about an EP until we had an u/s.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@TheSwissWifeStyle: I had two hysterscopies with no meds (well, the second time I took a ton of Advil first - lesson learned). The first was so painful I could barely handle it. I spent the whole time cringing and thinking how the hell I had managed an unmedicated labor. I would absolutely ask for serious meds, or at least Xanax!
nectarine / 2600 posts
@septca: oh lord! Yeah if he wants to take another look-see, I'm going to have to schedule it for sometime in the future when I'm properly drugged up! My former RE told me the HSG wouldn't hurt. She lied. Lesson learned.

@lazypanda: FX for beta #2. I know it's hard but try not tow worry.
@MrsMcD: We should hear something in two weeks(!!!). Glad your DH SA was nothing to worry about!
@Happygal: I love the pop out box suggestion!
@Mrs. Pinata: Ugh, our RE office workers leave something to be desired as well! I really want to scream sometimes, it's bad enough we have to deal with IF can't you at least be courteous? Sorry for that, I hope you got your IUI scheduled.
@Shutterbug: I think I'm going to buy that little buzzy shot thing for my IVF cycle. Although I showed DH and he was like, well why don't we just grab a vibrator to put in the freezer, it's the same thing. I was like haha, yeah not so much.
@Leialou: 3 days, hmm, is that standard protocol do you know? My RE didn't mention anything about that for our IVF cycle but we haven't hand our in depth meeting yet, I'll have to ask.
@TheSwissWifeStyle: Hello again! I love your tattoo idea
Update(ish) about the IVF clinical study, it wasn't compensated and you only got a video of your embryos developing, which is cool but not for a two our drive to the clinic. She said there was another one but I would have to have at least two unsucessful IVF cycles to participate. Oh well, I'm hoping and praying that the grant foundation will give us something.

@TheSwissWifeStyle: hiii there I was seriously just thinking about you the other day,wondering how you were. I'm sorry your RE is a pain. I hope you are well, though!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@TheSwissWifeStyle: I see...and that totally makes sense, if it allows him to address the problem then and there! I am just always concerned about when my next meal is...and you have to wait longer (before and after) for general! About the side effects, was your dr. any more specific about his concerns?
@MrsTal: I really hope your grant money comes through!!!
nectarine / 2600 posts
@LovelyPlum: Hi!
@FliegepilzHut: I feel like he HAS no concerns! Like if I never contacted again he would forget I ever existed. The last time I saw him, I was in the TWW from the first cycle of trying again after the hysterscopy. I was about to leave for vacation, and I was like, "maybe I'm pregnant? Who knows?" He gave me some progesterone and aspirin to take IF I was pregnant. (I wasn't, obv.) We never made a plan.

@MrsTal: hahahaha @ the frozen vibrator!! I suppose that could work in a pinch

@TheSwissWifeStyle: ugh. That sounds terribly frustrating! Maybe France would be the way to go????

@BhBee: thanks for sharing your beta number with me. I went out and told my husband and he smiled.
@purplepumps: why thank you! I have to open two windows--one for reading along, and one for just replying. The only problem is that I sometimes comment or ask questions for things that are later answered on the next page, but it's the best solution I have!
@lazypanda: I can feel anxiety trying to take over, and I try to stop it. I'm not super zen, believe me. My husband said I should meditate, so I think I'm going to buy some Circle + Bloom today.
@theswisswifesteyle: oh my gosh, I was just thinking about you today! Maybe in part b/c Hellobee also tells me I might enjoy your "Blah. Also, Follistime advice?" post. So happy to have you reappear. How was the de-polyping?
@FLIEGEPILZHUT: defensive pessimism has definitely been my MO as well. This cycle, I had the thought, "I think I'm pregnant," but immediately squashed it b/c I couldn't let myself think about it. Honestly, I think DP can be a good thing!
@MrsTal: do you know when you'll hear something back from the grant foundation?

@Happygal: Yay! Congrats!
Positives... the sun is out and I got a lot of things done in the yard. Taking a photography class this weekend
No updates for me. Waiting to hear back about the leukocyte test that was done on DH's sample on Monday. Hanging out on BCP until we get the results. Then hopefully IUI time!
I pulled the plug and bought some maternity swim wear on Zulily. I'm determined to be pregnant this summer. If it doesn't happen, I guess I can just save it... I'm saving a ton of baby stuff already. Haha. I told the DH that at this rate, we won't need a baby shower because I'm pretty sure I will have a lot of things already purchased. No shame here.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
@bluestriped bee: ahh, I've been resisting buying baby stuff. I'm eyeing a cute tote though that I *could* use as a baby bag, but it isn't really a baby bag so I can kind of justify it.
clementine / 901 posts
@Happygal: Two weeks from this past Wednesday. I'm really grateful it's not very long, because I would go crazy if I had to wait a few months.
@bluestriped bee: Good for you! I think it's awesome you bought some maternity swim wear. I told my husband something similiar, I'm determined to be pregnant this year, which is probably why I'm pushing IVF so hard. I've also been hording baby stuff, it's in a bin under my bed, every time AF shows up I go and buy something haha.

No updates this week from me. Literally nothing is happening.
I feel kind of disappointed in myself today. Today is a sad day for me and I told myself I wouldn't get sad this month since I am on BC and getting testing done, so OF COURSE I won't get pregnant this month (duh), but somehow I am still sad that I'm not and just wishing this month over. I am also dying of curiosity to know my u/s results which happen next Friday. Also dying to know what my 3m plan will be. It just seems like a lot of waiting for a girl who has waited all she can. I try to remin myself that everything happens for a reason, and that makes me feel better.
Anyway---my mind and heart need to be with @mrs.bird: today and her procedure. Wishing you luck, honey!

@CupQuakeWalk: I'm so sorry you are going through such a rough time right now. I know how much is sucks. The waiting and wondering when it'll happen is just awful! What are you looking for in the ultrasound next week? I hope you get a good game plan to move forward! I hope you have a nice weekend and feel better. ((Hugs))

@Happygal: Congrats!! So happy to see your news! I'm sure your 36 will double quite nicely!
@TheSwissWifeStyle: About the polyps, I remember an u/s tech who kept thinking she saw a polyp on the u/s. So that might be one way to look...you'd think it would be a no-brainer to find it but maybe they have to be looking for it? And I also remember having an SHG to look for them. I've missed you around HB and am glad to see you again!

So hard to keep up with you all!
My GP said yes to the HSG so that means I get it for free She was really interested about what the fertility expert said which was nice but then also kept saying that it can also take up to two years for a normal couple to conceive....yeah right....
@bluestriped bee: I've been knitting baby stuff the last couple of months. I find it actually seems to help!
@lazypanda: Sorry to hear about the nurse being so insensitive. It's the doubling that counts anyway isn't it? Sending you lots of
@Happygal: I'm only dying it because I didn't like the colour, not something I normally do. I'm knitting baby stuff as it helps keep me positive (despite probably being quite a crazy thing to do)

hey guys! thank you for the ! i will respond individually later, but right now i'm pretty coherent, so i thought i'd check in
i got there super early, so i ended up being the first surgery of the day instead of the second. everyone was really nice, i took some anxiety meds before arriving, they strapped me to the OR table and gave me a numbing injection before placing the IV, they also took blood that they needed from my IV port so i didn't have to get stuck again. the dr was thinking she wouldn't need to insert a ballon to keep things open in there, but i guess it was a little more involved than she expected so i ended up having a foley ballon left up there until it gets taken out next wk. it's really uncomfortable because it's pressing on my bladder. i kept insisting i NEEDED to pee and they were nice and put me on the bedpan to go but kept reminding that they'd emptied my bladder with a catheter while i was under and probably didn't need to go. they were right! she wasn't able to resect the whole septum. doesn't really surprise me, it wasn't narrow like many, it's wide and takes up a good portion of my uterine cavity. we'll talk about it more in the follow up appts (there are two), but she was hoping to create enough usable space in my tiny uterus for implantation and growth. not sure i'll be able to carry to term still, but we'll see how it looks once i've healed some. random, but when i touch the metal sides of my iphone or the metal on my macbook pro, i feel this weird buzzing vibration. no idea what that is all about! taking more percs now, so i'm gonna rest, but thank you for all your words of support, they mean a lot to me
** wed 5/21 follow up to remove foley cath ballon
ooooooo PS. mr. bird starts his new job on tuesday i'm very happy for him

@Snowdrop: thank you!
wow. i shouldn't type on drugs, i misspelled balloon.... twice! my apologies!
@TheSwissWifeStyle: it's nice to see you back on HB, but i'm sorry you're in this neck of the woods surgery was to remove uterine septum
@Kelli_Deluxe: so hoping someone cancels
@MrsTal: hahahahahaha frozen vibrator, i'm dying!
@bluestriped bee: your photography class sounds fun! enjoy
@bluestriped bee: & @MrsTal: i have a baby hoarder half a closet in our spare room and a suitcase under my bed no shame in my game! though, i haven't bought anything in a while, but once i'm not the only one with an income (my PART TIME income ), i may return to my old optimistic ways, it made me feel like i had something to look forward to
@Jenn23: thank you!
@doxielove: thanks!
@CupQuakeWalk: aww, thank you so much! i'm so excited to hear what your 3 month plan is going to be, that is def something to be looking forward to!
@Snowdrop: two years my ass, maybe if you're unaware of your cycles and aren't having regular relations, but that sounds like crazy talk! hooray for free HSG! that's sweet that you're knitting stuff! what have you made? i can only do basic blankets, but i'd love to try something more involved, like booties! oooo, that could be a fun exchange in the future if anyone was interested, we could knit/crochet/whatever something gender neutral and baby related for an elfster exchange
@alohaorchid: oh hun, i am right there with you about the needle phobia! would it be possible to work with a counselor regarding your anxiety over it? they might be able to help you work on some coping skills that could help. anti anxiety meds maybe at a higher dose, numbing, distractions, maybe with the right combo you could find a way to make it work
@FaithFertility: congrats on graduating to your OB, that is an exciting step!
@MrsTal: thank you! i am starting to lean more towards IVF now that i've heard some reassuring testimonies re: the needle issues
@lazypanda: lots of reasons to celebrate! happy anniversary! i appreciate the positivity you bring out in all of us, it's infectious and a much needed thing 'round these parts. thank you!
@FliegepilzHut: thank you! congrats on moving on to IVF! that is very exciting!
@Happygal: thank you! i was very much blissfully unaware it's a good way to be!

@mrs. bird: i have knitted a pair if mittens, a hat, some wool soakers, a romper and two jackets. (Wow, didn't realise I'd done so much). I just do it whilst watching tv, it's really relaxing because obvs there's no deadline and when AF comes I can think at least I get more time to make even more cute knits.
and yeah two years. I would have asked if that statement was based on research involving ciuples who thought you got pregnant by sitting on a dirty toilet seat but she had just given me a free HSG!
nectarine / 2600 posts
@Happygal: The de-polyping was fine. I was out for it. Just a little crampy afterwards, but nothing major at all.
@spaniellove: Thank! Yeah, if it's just gonna be a TVUS, I'm fine w/ that.
@mrs. bird: Thanks, and I'm glad your procedure went well!

@Snowdrop: wait, do you mean to tell me i've been sitting on dirty toilets in hopes of getting KU for nothing?!? haahhaha. you are really talented! what a sweet little outfit
@FaithFertility: thank you! she didn't get it all, so i might have to have another one, but i won't be as anxious about it as i've made it out okay once

@CupQuakeWalk: thank you! me, too! i want to know if i need to do it again and how soon they can do it if it needs to be done.
@TheSwissWifeStyle: thank you!!

@Snowdrop: that outfit is adorable! Good luck with your HSG!
Well, im officially in the TWW. After a lot of stress about finding a sitter for little p, we were able to do our first IUI in almost 3 years! The nurses were super sweet! I'm thinking about getting the receptionist some flowers.when I go in next week to get my progesterone levels tested in hopes that she's friendlier when I call. Haha
It's good to know we've done everything we can to get pregnant this month and we are trusting if it's meant to be that God will do a miracle and Ill get pregnant. But definitely.not EXPECTING a BFP. We've done.that too many times and the disappointment was so awful. I think we'll try 4 IUIs, so please say some prayers for us. It would be such a crazy miracle if we got our first ever BFP!
