@Snowdrop: that's about the same for my RE, although I think they said 7 is do-able. They also like to see that triple stripe. Where are you in your cycle right now?
My understanding is that progesterone in the luteal phase helps to sustain, but not build up, your lining.
pear / 1846 posts
@Happygal: I was 4dpo yesterday when I had my scan. The endometrium was really clear, I could see the triple stripe you mention. I know the progesterone won't thicken my lining, though apparently it could develop it with better blood vessels which sounds good I guess. I think I will have to be happy with 'doable' this cycle...as long as it isn't impossible!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Snowdrop: it definitely isn't impossible! I know from googling "uterine lining thickness+pregnancy" and spending A LOT of time reading people's positive stories that it can happen for you. Mine got down to a measly 4 on clomid, so when I built back up to 7ish, I was feeling pretty good about things!

@Happygal: Thanks for suggesting Femara/letrozole. That is something I will seriously look into and ask my doctor about. You are a gem. Thank you!

Thank you so much ladies! Since I'm on my phone, I'm not able to copy & paste to respond to everyone. I'm kind of on my toes waiting for the day to end so that I can go get my betas done.
@lindsayinny: this was my first IUI cycle. I've got my FX as I recall us both having started this December 2012.
@septca: I had a potential chemical last month so I'm hoping that you get your BFP this cycle as well! I'm a lurker of the POAS boards but those were a little daunting to me & moved so muh more quickly than the IF board. FX on your BD timing!
@MrsMcD: My first two medicated cycles ( on femara/Letrozole) were not monitored by ultrasound & only by cd21 bloodwork. Those were anovulatory so my RE then had me put on 150mg clomid with cd13 monitoring, trigger, & TI. This cycle was 150mg clomid, cd13 u/s, trigger, & cd15 IUI. I hope you are one of the lucky ones like my friend, but wonder if they'll let you do the cd21 progesterone test to see if you've ovulated.
@mrs bird: I'm sorry about the telephone consult today. I hope Friday's surgery goes well in spite of the office's handling of your pre op appt.
@Happygal: DH was not amused by my excitement at 4 am. He looked like he smiled, kissed me, then told me to go back to sleep. I texted him today & his response to my question regarding when he would be as excited as me was "birth haha." My DH has a dry sense of humor & is quite reserved. I know he's happy but also very cautious given last month's faint positive.

@lazypanda - YAY! I'm so excited for you! I hope our whole IUI thread ends up with BFPs!
I got my second beta back and it was 226!!! More than double, I am over the moon! We have an ultrasound scheduled Tuesday 5/20! I guess they'll do a third beta at the ultrasound? Did anyone else's RE do a third beta before the ultrasound?

@EmilyE: Awwww yay!!!!! Wow, this place is popping....lol yes I just said popping!!!!
I had 3 betas before my first u/s I believe they were looking for it to get over 1,000 I think that is when they think they can see a sac and yolk!!!!
Be prepared that is all you might see, completely ok!!!! I was a little scared at mine, but all is well!!!!!

I have been really bad about checking in with everyone! I will need to read through the thread and see how everyone is doing.
I went to my new obgyn today and she is ah-mazing!!! I love her and want her to deliver all of my babies. She doesn't seem concerned that we've hit the year mark. She recommended pregnitude and gave me some samples. I plan on ordering some soon.
She said that she thinks based on my shorter and inconsistent cycles that I'm either not ovulating every month or that I have low progesterone. I got blood work done today and I'm going to do day 3 and 22 bloodwork next month.
I also FINALLY got contacted for an interview that is in 2 weeks. That and the appointment have drastically changed my day for the better! I feel like things are swinging in the right direction.

@lazypanda: Hehe you put EmilyE's appts on my name! I can't blame you; you're doing fabulously at keeping up with all of us!
When do you get the results of your beta?
@EmilyE: That's an awesome number! Yay!
kiwi / 636 posts
Thank you again for all the well wishes. It is very much appreciated! The nurse at the RE's office said she'll email me my beta results tomorrow. She also cautioned that it is early & for me to not expect high numbers. She was so sweet and excited for me when I told her the news. I took an FRER again & it's a clearer faint positive! I'm hesitant to use the digital because I'll be sad if it reads "not pregnant."

@MrsMcD: just FYI: on the first day with our RE, the billet sat us down first thing and went over everything our insurance covers and everything they offer. We literally have a printout of every procedure and price and co-pay as according to our insurance. I hope they do the same for you because it was tremendously helpful.

@Happygal: Those are clear lines!! Congrats!!
So much good stuff going on here these days! I guess I should finally come out of the closet with my update...my first cycle of femara totally worked
and I'm currently 9 weeks 3 days. I had 3 great ultrasounds and heard the little gummy bear's heartbeat at all 3
Yesterday was my last appointment with my RE, which was a happy/sad day. Next week is my first appointment with my new OB. I'm just trying to take this one day at a time, hence the hold out of sharing my good news...

@TheReelDeal: Ahhhh! Congrats to you!
I totally said that if I got pregnant, I would wait until a little later to share. But that all went out the window this morning!
@bhbee: @Shutterbug: thank you! It's slowly sinking in, and the questions and comments have begun--could it be a false positive? When did you take the trigger? What would the EDD be? Should we rent a bigger home? What's a beta? What am I looking for with this pee stick? No dog, don't lick the pee stick!

@boopers: I've been taking Pregnitude for a couple months. I've slacked recently and am hoping I don't need the box that I have on hand... If so, you'll be the first to know, in case you want it! And congrats on the interview!!

@Happygal: Yay!!! VERY happy for you!!!
@TheReelDeal: I'm learning so much by being on here.... Wishing you & baby a safe and healthy 7 mos!!!
@MrsMcD: Nothing to add in terms of reasons to do some "monitoring...but I would second either temping or checking a progesterone level (CD21) with your first cycle, to confirm ovulation. Did you say DH had or was planning to have an SA? Wishing you success!
@Kelli_Deluxe: I'm sorry to hear that... FX for getting your appt moved up a few days!
@Boopers: I'm happy that you like your doctor! Sounds like you're off to a great start... Good luck on your interview!
