@owlteach: Yeah, that's strange! Like you, there's no way I would wait that long! Was this an OB then? I hear that after a lap you're more fertile than normal, so hopefully you'll get your BFP before you know it!

@bluestriped bee: Sending you lots of good thoughts!!!

@mrswin: Not yet...but I did talk with the coordinator today. It sounds like we should be able to set our schedule in the next few days or early next week!

@lazypanda: Thank you again dear! A Hawaiian vacation sounds great!

@owlteach: I'm sorry for the depressing meeting with your doctor. Do they think that maybe meds & IUI would boost your chances in the next few months (rather than waiting so long or going straight to IVF)?

  4. owlteach

    apricot / 390 posts

@Mrs. Pinata: Yes, it is with an OB. We will have to travel at least 4 hours to get to an re.

@FliegepilzHut: Based on our first appointment, they are fairly certain that I am ovulating strongly on my own and we know that we have no male factor issues, so he doesn't feel like there would be any real benefit to an IUI. My only concern is that we haven't done a lot of testing of my hormone levels.

In 3 months, if I'm not pregnant we are going to have to look at plan b, this is already the second OB, and the thought of switching dr's again is exhausting. I do think the next step, if we get there, will have to be finding an RE.

@lazypanda: Ohhh Hawaii take me with you

@owlteach: oh man! That totally stinks to be so far from an RE! I wonder if theres one that would treat you remotely, like tell your OB office which tests to run, etc? But, hopefully you'll get a bfp in the next 3 months. If your insides are clear, you ovulate well and.no DH issues, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Wishing you luck!

@FliegepilzHut: Yay! It's getting close for both of us

@owlteach: What testing did they do for you? I would agree that maybe you can fine an RE who would do satellite monitoring for you, but there is no way I could imagine being told to wait another 2-3 years

@bluestriped bee: @Leialou: Good luck today ladies

@FaithFertility: thanks, but BD while cramping is not my idea of fun. I'm all for BD when my tummy isn't feeling so crampy & bloated.

@owlteach: I'm sorry you have to wait so long. I would echo everyone else to see if the RE can give your OB some info about what they could do for you while you guys wait.

@bluestripedbee: @leialou: FX for great results!

@Leialou: Great to hear!! Can't wait to hear the next beta Monday. Hope you are feeling well.

I go in for a blood test in two weeks! Is this a beta or is a beta only for people who are pregnant? I have no idea. Never had blood work after an IUI before. My clinic will be looking at my hcg levels.

  17. lazypanda

    kiwi / 636 posts

@Leialou: yay for the beta! FX for Mondays beta results!

@winter_wonder: Welcome! Here's a link to a thread regarding some of our diagnoses and history if you would like to include your information as well. http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/if-diagnosis-amp-treatment-history

@bluestriped bee: FX that this is our lucky cycle. Does that mean your beta is already scheduled for 6/20? My RE told me to go in for a beta if I get a positive HPT after 6/16. They already have it in my file approving me to complete betas at any time I go in.

  18. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@bluestriped bee: Yup, that's a beta (hCG) level... How long is your luteal phase usually? Do they have you on progesterone this cycle?

@Jenn23: @mrswin: I'm getting really excited! More details to come soon...

@lazypanda: Um yes, please put me in your suitcase too!

@FliegepilzHut: I'm so happy things are moving right along!

@Mrs. Pinata: Sounds like you've got a good plan, and an awesome potential OB!

    @Leialou: Congrats again!

@bluestriped bee: Ahhhh so excited for you!! I would consider it a beta if it's positive since they'll be using the levels!

I guess I'm *technically* *possibly* in the TWW. My 2 tracking apps had two completely different peak times, since my loss threw things off, so we just kind of bd'd to cover all the bases. Our chromosome results STILL aren't in so I still don't have answers; I'm supposed to call again Thurs if I haven't heard before then. That still gives us a little time to figure out freezing vs donor.

DH is officially in San Diego. On his first day they switched his orders from deploying in a month for 6mo, to deploying in 3mo for 7mo, so that's fun! I have no idea what I'm doing with my life, moving-wise etc so any prayers and positive thoughts are appreciated on that front.

@Kelli_Deluxe: Is there family housing available at Pendleton? Would it be possible to live with your DH for 3 months in SD? If I'm not mistaken, your DH should be getting a housing stipend right? I remember that my friend told me he was getting paid the cost of living amount for our hometown which was almost 3 times the amount of some of his other Marine friends who were in more remote areas with lower cost of living. FX for a rainbow baby! Oh, and while I was looking up hotels for Hawaii, since you are a military wife, if you have your civilian military spouse badge, the hotels are so much cheaper! They also have some great camping and private beaches that are exclusively for military personnel and their families.

  22. Kelli_Deluxe

    apricot / 288 posts

@lazypanda: The problem is, even though his orders are to SD for a year, they may not give us SD housing pay. I think the wait lists for their housing is 3mo so that would be semi-silly. I can give up our house here (our housing allowance goes straight to it) and go down and rent an apartment.... I've also been looking up corporate/short term apartments so I wouldn't have to deal with moving all our stuff around & around. My head is kind of spinning!

I will def look into Hawaii! That sounds awesome! Thanks for the tips!

  23. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@lazypanda: It's scheduled two weeks from yesterday since my first insemination was yesterday ... so 6/19!

@FliegepilzHut: My luteal phase is usually normal at 14 days.

No progesterone for me. Just metformin and dex.

    @Kelli_Deluxe: Thanks!

  24. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@owlteach: I'm sorry that it's not easier for you to get to an RE... Mine is also REALLY far way! Maybe summer would be the perfect time to get a consult/finish up your testing (unless you have summer school)?

@bluestriped bee: That's great! Will you plan to test early?

@Kelli_Deluxe: Sorry things are still so up in the air! Having DH home a little longer sounds nice, though.

  25. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@FliegepilzHut: No. At least, I'm going to try not to test early.. Gonna try to not symptom spot, too. Just going to not think about it. I'll probably be fairly quite during my TWW, unless I see weird symptoms. I was pretty sure I was pregnant last TWW but it was BFN. I know my body tries to fool me.

I love opening these check-in threads and seeing good news!!

My updates: I'm pretty sure AF will be arriving this weekend, as I started spotting today. I've been working on some paperwork for discount medication programs - the plan is to fax the forms on Monday and *hopefully* get a good discount so we have a better idea of how much $$ we need to save for IVF drugs

I got my IVF schedule (on Friday, but just hadn't had time to write all of this down yet)!

    Currently taking BCP's
    June 11: Start Lupron injections
    June 14: Stop BCP's
June 20: U/S to confirm suppression; if adequately suppressed, start stimulation (Follistim & Menopur)
    June 23, 25, & 27: E2 level bloodwork +/- U/S
June 28: U/S; receive instructions for timing of trigger
June 30 - July 3: Projected egg retrieval. Start PIO.
July 3 - July 8: Projected Day 3 vs. Day 5 embryo transfer

I am VERY excited to get started and am only the tiniest bit anxious that there's a possibility that I won't be able to get someone to cover for me at work. Otherwise, I think this schedule will work really well for us, especially considering DH's school schedule. (He starts back in early August.) I'm feeling really good about my choice of clinics and had a great experience on Thursday with my orientation, meeting/seeing 2 of the other partners (whom I may very well see again during ER/ET since they alternate weeks "on-service"). Hoping for a smooth ride through IVF and a BFP soon... I will keep you all posted!

@lazypanda: thanks for adding me to the list! The date of DH's TESE is actually June 19th - less than 2 weeks!

I'm getting a little nervous for for DH. I'm afraid I'll feel very anxious about him going into surgery, even though his doctors agree it's perfectly safe. I know I'll have flashbacks of his accident and the brain surgeries

I'm also worried that they won't be able to find any sperm and that he'll go through pain and stress for no reason. Luckily he isn't nervous yet, but I know he will be when the time comes. At least I know I can baby him a little after the procedure :). At least once the surgery is over we will have another question answered.

In the mean time we have a lot going on this week. Tomorrow DH has an appointment to get a custom orthotic for his left leg to help him walk. Then he has to do pre-surgery testing on Tuesday. I'm glad this is our slow time at work. This time next month I'll be packing to move to our new house!

@Leialou: FX for great betas today!

@FliegepilzHut: so exciting that you have your plan laid out now!

@just_ju: good luck with the discount meds programs!

@bluestriped bee: FX for the both of us! Just have to survive another week! I've been good about not POAnyS, but if I go by my last 2 cycles, the trigger should be out of my system already. I can't ignore symptom spotting though. I started craving pickles again this weekend & have started my second jar yesterday.

@macintosh: you're welcome. I'll make the correction tonight!
