Good morning!
What are your updates this week?
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I think everyone knows my update this week! I got a BFP and my beta is tomorrow.
Do you think it matters is my line on a FRER hasn't gotten any darker? It's an obvious line, just not darker or lighter. I'm 8dp5dt today, or 13dpo.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@Leialou: Congrats again, I wouldn't worry about the line darkening...everything I have read says the concentration of colour has a lot to do with the dye lot, etc. with your beta tomorrow

Nothing major happening for me. This is a natural cycle for us and I will be starting BCP for IVF when AF shows around the end of the month
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@mrswin: thank you. I'm trying not to turn into an obsessed person. It's a little challenging. Yay for getting close to IVF! It seems so weird to go on BCP in preparation to get pregnant, doesn't it?
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@Leialou: I am so excited for you. Like as excited as I get for real life friends. So basically we're real life friends and I'm so excited.
I haven't been around much. AF finally showed and then never left so I went back on BCP just to stop the bleeding. The new dr I tried to make an appt with has a 6mo waiting list, so in the mean time I'll be on bcp. Life is hectic enough anyway without worrying about all that.
I hope you're all doing well!!
nectarine / 2433 posts
@Leialou: Yeah BCP is a mind warp in this situation but if they told me standing on my head would help I would be all over it
@Mrs. Polish: I'm glad you stopped in! I'm sorry AF was such a B, hopefully this new doctor will be able to help you but the waiting sucks although I'm sure the LO's will keep you from noticing too much
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@mrswin: You're right, the waiting does suck...but you're also right about the los keeping me busy. It's nice to talk to you again.
clementine / 901 posts
@Leialou: I don't think it matters. My FRER didn't really get darker until this week. Probably like 16 dpo? with your beta tomorrow! Keep us updated!
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@Leialou: Yay! Congrats! And I have NO idea about the darkness of the strip.
@Mrs. Polish: I'm glad you'll be able to see a new Dr. I'm sorry the wait is so long, but I know you have lots to keep you busy! I'm doing a candida cleanse right now (I know... I'm a goofy, crunchy person) and looking for tips I stumbled upon a lady that naturally got healing from her PCOS. I thought of you. It would probably overwhelm you, because it overwhelmed me, but I'm happy to send you the link if you're interested.
@mrswin: That's so exciting! I'm so glad you're getting close!

Well, after our failed IUI and my disastrous progesterone levels, we feel like we're starting over again. Which is discouraging. But, we do have a plan. Last week I was feeling like maybe it was just time to give up on getting pregnant, but DH still really wants to keep trying since his numbers are a lot better now. But, this time our plan is kind of complicated and very unconventional. ha!
We actually visited a naturopath last week (who we have seen before and really like) who found out we both had little infections in our reproductive areas, so we are taking homeopathic remedies for that (I realize I sound kooky as I write it). I'm also selling essential oils now, so we're both on essential oils for fertility. But, we don't want to do all this stuff on our own, so we are both going to see a chiropractor/Kinesiologist that has had a lot of success with fertility patients.
AND finally, there is an OB a couple of hours away from us that specializes in fertility and we have heard really good things about him getting to the root of the problem (which is what we prefer to try to do at this point), so if we don't have luck the next couple of months with our more natural route we'll go see him. Apparently he does really detailed hormone tests at all points in the cycle to see exactly where you're cycle is off, so we're glad we found him.
I know it all sounds silly after we were on the IUI track. It felt SO GOOD to be doing something that actually felt like progress, but if my hormones are off, I'd really like to get them fixed before trying IUIs again. Plus, we aren't necessarily in a rush to get pregnant. Of course it would be wonderful if it happened soon, but our goal is to heal whatever is going on in both of our bodies. We ARE also waiting to adopt again, so if that happens first we would be thrilled. It's just hard when all my friends are getting pregnant with #2, but I'm trying to stay focused on OUR journey and not look at where everyone else is.
Sorry for the novel!

Just waiting. 8 or 9 dpo now. DH gave me a chuckle yesterday. He asked me if it was the end of the 12 day wait yet. And I'm like what? 12 days, where did you get that idea?? He says he just thought it was 12 and I corrected him and said no, 14. And he goes, oh two weeks. And I'm like yeah, that's why I say TWO week wait. *smh*

@Mrs. Pinata: Not kooky at all! Both my and my SO noticed difference when we were seeing the ND during my break from the RE, she was the only one who was able to get my cycles back to normal and we saw big improvements in SO numbers. Hopefully the other OB can help figure out what is up and get you KU. Are there any restrictions while you are waiting that you cannot pursue treatments? I came across this frequently in my research here before we decided to try IVF

Today is the last day of school with the kids and tomorrow is my last day!! I'm ready to put this very stressful year behind me.
I sign my contract for my new job this afternoon- hallelujah!
I got my CD3 bloodwork done this week, waiting to do my CD22 and then hear back from my doctor.
Hubs and I are working on our diets to help out with his motility and just overall health.
I'm so excited to have the whole summer off!!!
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@mrswin: You mean, restrictions from the natural practitioners? I don't know. I guess we just figure if we're going to spend $400 on IUI we want our bodies to be in the best shape first. I'm sure there would be restrictions on hormone drugs just because they don't want too much "mixing." But, I know the OB uses stuff like Clomid, Progesterone, etc. We just figure we'd like to get ourselves naturally in a healthier place before introducing those drugs again. This past month on Clomid and Prometrium I felt AWFUL!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
@Boopers: congrats on the new job and yay for summer vacation!
@Mrs. Pinata: I don't think it sounds silly. You know your body best.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@Mrs. Pinata: Sorry my question wasn't clear at all! When I was looking at adoption agencies most required that we provide a letter from our RE that we were not currently undergoing any fertility treatments and that if we wanted to pursue further treatments we had to withdraw/suspend our application. I am assuming that your agency doesn't require this...
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@mrswin: Oh! Ha! Yeah, I'm sure they would prefer we not be pursing treatments. But, since the average wait is 1-2 years and we don't have to sign anything we're trying both. If we were going to do something like IVF we would let them know since that has a much higher chance of working.
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@Boopers: Yay for the summer! Good for you for making lifestyle changes. They are so TOUGH!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Leialou: I wouldn't worry about the appearance of you FRER. FX for good numbers tomorrow!
@Boopers: Hooray for being done with your school year! What will you be teaching next year?
@PurplePumps: Silly guys... Wishing you lots of luck! Was this an IUI cycle?
I had my orientation today and DH was really able to attend. Felt like we both got a lot out of it and had plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Afterwards, we both had our HIV/syphilis/HepB+C antibody testing done (necessary prior to embryo storage) and I had my mock transfer and SHG. The financials arrived today...now we just wait a little bit longer to get scheduled! I'm still really pleased with our decision to do IVF here, even though the drive for procedures is kind of crazy... Now I get to take a short nap!

@FliegepilzHut: Yay for progress and movement in the right direction!

@Mrs. Polish: Here's what I found. http://www.mynaturalfamily.com/symptoms/infertility-pregnancy/im-pregnant/
It's interesting because I just got back from a visit with my parent's chiropractor who also does nutrition and wellness stuff. He said he could tell my adrenals and thyroid were out of whack and gave me a BUNCH of supplements to get me back on track. Everything was done with chiropractic and kinesiology and very much about ME specifically and what my body needs. So, I wonder if the supplements that this lady was doing was also recommended by someone knowing exactly what her body specifically needed. I wonder if there's a chiropractor in your area that would do something similar? It's not cheap, but it's definitely a lot less expensive than the RE!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Mrs. Pinata: Thanks! Good luck to you, too!
@lazypanda: Thank you again for my lucky socks! I had them on today and the catheter for the mock transfer didn't hurt a bit (though I did have some cramping with the saline hystosonogram)!

Hello !!!!
Working tonight and Saturday then off to Florida Monday !!! Woot !! DH is having another go at his MRI this sunday. We are trying an open one ! Have been tanning at the tanning salon to get a base tan and feeling real good about being tan !!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
IUI #4 is halfway completed! Insemination 1 was done this afternoon and insemination 2 is scheduled for tomorrow. Got my acupuncture appt this evening and so everything is set. Though, I had a lot of cramping today. It's never cramped up like that for 10 minutes straight after the IUI. It was very uncomfortable laying there.
Got my toe nails and fingers painted (Thank you @FliegepilzHut:). I, also, recently picked up an assortment of different colored socks from Costco. (All my socks were just plain ol' white.) Wearing nail polish and blue socks! (My Cheri22 reading said I'm suppose to have a boy, so blue socks it is.) I should have taken a picture. Maybe tomorrow I will, if I don't have those cramps.
nectarine / 2433 posts
@bluestriped bee: Good luck! I had cramping with a couple of my IUI's. I found if they tried to rush getting it done it was worse. My favourite doctor would actually wait until the cramps subsided before depositing the sample
@mrs bunchy: Have fun in Florida, I hope the open MRI works out for your DH
@FliegepilzHut: Glad things went well for your mock transfer today. Did you get more of a schedule for your cycle yet?
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@mrswin: Oh, good to know. I don't think she was rushing. The time it took seem similar to my past IUIs at my other office. Maybe I'll ask her to take it slow if I feel lots of cramping.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@bluestriped bee: Yay, on IUI #1 DONE IS this the first time you have done 2 b2b?
IM excited for you!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@FaithFertility: Yup. First time. Didn't realize there was an abbrevation for it, too. #IUI-newbie! Thanks!

@Leialou: Congrats again! I'm excited for you!
@mrswin: a late March/early April baby sounds lovely!
@Mrs. Polish: I hope you'll be able to get in sooner with the new doc. How is the adoption process going?
@Mrs. Pinata: Definitely not kooky. While I was waiting for my IUI, DH and I started talking about all the "crazy" things our grandmothers did for us when we were younger. For instance, he told me that his grandmother chew up uncooked rice and then put it on him when he had full body hives once. He said that he was disgusted by it, but then he finally started feeling relief as she was massaging the rice on his skin. My grandmother used to do coining and spitting alcohol on my back followed by coining/spooning to release the toxins from my body. Then there's all the different herbal remedies. If I wasn't so averse to the Chinese medicine brews, I would totally go to the Chinese doctor to start the process.
@PurplePumps: Have you gotten your progesterone results yet? Will you test early?
@Boopers: Summer vacation time sounds awesome! Congrats on the new job again! Sometimes I wish I had gotten my PPSC while I was in grad school so that I could work in the community school setting and have all the breaks that teachers get. I still work with teachers but, its a year round school program.
@FliegepilzHut: you're welcome! I hope they bring you GREAT luck! and YAY for a great mock transfer!
@FaithFertility: I hope you're doing well? Are you in the second trimester now?
@mrs bunchy: Woohoo for your Florida trip! I hope your DH's MRI goes well!
@bluestriped bee: FX that your back to back IUI gets you your BFP! I also painted my toenails from @MrsTal: which I'm hoping will be very lucky. Will you be considered to be in the TWW beginning tomorrow? Are they having you BD after the IUI as well?
I'm just waiting and sitting pretty during the TWW, although DH has said that we should still BD EOD like the TI that our RE had told us when our first medicated cycle was to BD EOD from CD11-CD20. Silly husband, I know you just like the more frequent BD as we TTC our first child. Oh, I also booked my Hawaiian vacation for later this month!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@lazypanda: Yup, TWW will be tomorrow. (Woohoo! Finally after 2 months of waiting.) MIL is currently in town so I don't think we'll find time to BD. Maybe after she leaves tomorrow night, though.
Woohoo on your Hawaii trip. I need to go back there. I'm hoping we can go there next year as a possible babymoon trip.

@Leialou: Wahoo, this makes me sooo happy!!!!
@Mrs. Pinata: If I'm not pregnant by August I'm going to an accupuncturist...and am already seeing a chiropractor. I get the willingnees to try anything! I figure even if it doesn't get me pregnant it is probably good for my overall health.
@Boopers: I know the feeling...I switched schools after my first year and I couldn't get out of that first school fast enough!
Not much of an updates here. Had my follow up appointment with my doctor on Tuesday. He pretty much told me that my chances of getting pregnant were better than before, but that it just may take us longer, as in a year or two. I asked when we could look at other options, and he pretty much told me that in our situation the only other option was IVF. So, I'm trying really hard to hang onto my increased hope, but that appointment was pretty crushing. I'm just not sure I can hangle another year, especially if the pain is back in 6 months
blogger / pear / 1563 posts
@owlteach: Ugh. That's definitely discouraging. I'm so sorry! Remind me what procedure you just had done? Is it possible to do IUIs to increase your chances? I really believe in accupunture, so it was hard for us to let go of it after it really wasn't working for us. We'll see about this chiropractor. He's got me on about 10 different supplements to get my body "back in order"!

@Mrs. Pinata: I had a lap done where they removed all of the visible endo and removed scar tissue that had both of my ovaries pinned to the back of my pelvic wall. One ovary is now completely free and the other has increased mobility. Basically there was no chance for my ovaries to drop an egg into my fallopian tubes before. Because we have no male factor and I am ovulating with perfect cm he doesnt think there will be any benefit to an iui. At some point I may need to switch to an re though...Im not waiting 2-3 years like he thinks we should.

@FliegepilzHut: Thanks! Yup, it was our second IUI.
@lazypanda: Results for progesterone was good, 15.5. I trying to hold out testing early.
