@Warbler: Im sorry that things didnt improve
    @PurplePumps: mmmmm.....sangria
@travelgirl1: wahoo for af the crazy things we celebrate....

I just made my first apt with an re for aug 18...itll only cost is $425....I realize that is just the very tip of the iceberg, but it still pisses me off. Im working at a summer day camp to earn $ to help with if...and am watching the kids of people I went to school with...which also pisses me off. Im obviously easily irked lately I love the oregon coast and we have to go to portland for my re apt and its only an extra hour to the coast so were making a weekend out of it. My dad loved the oregon coast and my soul just feels at peace there

    @mrswin: For sure!

@owlteach: I know, ha ha, I literally want to tell everyone I know, I had to hold myself back from telling my family. They wouldn't get it. I'm sorry about the $$ and kids of your friends at the camp. But it's great you booked your first appointment!

@owlteach: Ugh, yes..Sometimes I just want to scream!! My God, the things we could all do with the money we spend on IF. It's just not freaking fair that it has to take us so long and cost us so damn much, when others seem to just look at each other and they get knocked up. Hope you can work it out to make a relaxing weekend out the appointment and relax on the coast.

@travelgirl1: We did acupuncture for about a year and even though we really like it, it didn't help with our IF issue (MF morphology issues).

Right now we're going to a naturopath and a chiropractor. We're kind of giving them 3 months and we'll see if there's a change in the right direction. We would LOVE to get to the root of the issue with DH (and me since I have low progesterone), but honestly, there may not be a "root." We'll just have to see!

@owlteach: Ugh. I know. DH and I were talking about that tonight. There is a potential adoption situation where we could show our profile, but there would be some big non-refundable costs if it fell through. It's so frustrating that in order to have a child we have to be ready and willing to spend at least $20,000. Blergh.

@FliegepilzHut: best of luck on the transfer!!

My favorite beach is one on base, back "home." But I will take any beach, anywhere!! It's my favorite place to be

Nothing to update here. We are in the middle of "trying."

Next week I meet with the new doc. on the 7th, and then I turn 34 the day after. Gag. Like, wtf. When did I start dreading my birthday? (Answer, about 2 years ago!)

Happy 4th of July! We're having a bbq tomorrow. ::eye roll:: always so stressful to throw a party!

I'm in a great mood, can you tell!? HA!

@travelgirl1: Absolutely! Give yourself plenty of space and time...you sound like you're doing really well! Thank you, again!

@owlteach: Thanks, lady! There are a lot of IF costs we have to just grit our teeth and bear...so aggravating! I LOVE the Oregon coast, too, BTW-- especially "tide-pooling"!

@Mrs. Pinata: Feel your pain about the $$! FX for good news in a few months!

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Thank you! Sorry things continue to be frustrating... Will you plan a nice dinner or something fun to enjoy your birthday?

Went for my baseline this morning and got my meds. I have a call in to a nurse because they noted a 10 mm simple cyst on my left ovary and I am wondering if I will still be able to start stims on time....

  18. BSB

@mrswin: I had a cyst this cycle. My last clinic would cancelled my cycle but my current clinic checked my estrogen levels. If it was elevated, they would cancel. Luckily it was fine.

I had a 24mm follicle on Day 2 and it was still 24mm on day 9.

    Fx they let you continue.

    Hi ladies!

I have kind of a silly question this week -- for those of you who switched RE's, did you personally request your medical records from RE #1 to take to your first appt with RE #2; did you go in empty handed to your first appt and had RE #2's office contact RE #1 and request your records; OR did you go in empty handed and let the new RE "start over" with testing, etc.?

My first order of business when I move to AZ next month is to find a new RE and I'm just kind of clueless!

PS I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! I will play catch up with individual posts in the morning

@PurplePumps: I'm sorry But I hope that sangria tasted good!

@mrswin: @bluestriped bee: That's interesting about the cysts, I also have a cyst this cycle, I don't know the measurement of it but they said large. They were banging on about how that meant I couldn't have Letrozole, which was frustrating because I was on,y meant it get Letrozole IF I didn't get my period on my own. I think either they hadn't read my notes properly or the notes weren't clear. Anyway, after a lot of back and forths we did get the go ahead for a natural, monitored cycle. However, we are in the process of visa renewal and if it isn't sorted in time my health card will expire on a july 19 and I won't be able to continue monitoring until it's sorted. Such a stress! That is around the time I *should* ovulate so it will be so frustrating if I have to abandon the cycle because of that.

@Kelli_Deluxe: I didn't switch REs but my ob/gyn did my initial testing before I went to the RE. I would ask current RE if they have a form for you to fill out to transfer your records to the new RE. If the new RE wants to redo tests, fine, but I wouldn't want to redo everything (or pay for it!).

  28. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@Kelli_Deluxe: My new clinic emailed me a form when I called them to arrange the appointment. I faxed it over to the old clinic and then they forwarded the records over to the new place. If you are moving you could just ask your clinic to provide you with a hard copy of your file since you don't have a new place yet.

  29. mrswin

    nectarine / 2433 posts

@travelgirl1: Uggghhh that sucks. I hope you are able to get the visa stuff sorted soon and a new health card so you can do your monitoring. If the cyst is large it is probably better that you are doing a natural cycle, hopefully it will resolve itself.

@bluestriped bee: @winter_wonder: @travelgirl1: The nurse called back yesterday and said that they want to continue because it is small and it appears that my E2 is normal. We will check it again at my next monitoring appointment.

  31. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@Kelli_Deluxe: This doesn't exactly apply to my situation...but when I first saw my RE, I brought hard copies of all of my records. I think some clinics would also have you (or the prior clinic) send or fax copies...but I think it makes a lot of sense to have your own set of records, just "in case." Hope you like your new RE/clinic!

@mrswin: Good news! Looking forward to hearing more details of your IVF cycle!

@Jenn23: @mrswin: @bluestriped bee: @PurplePumps: @Mrs. Pinata: Thank you ladies for all of the good and sticky thoughts!!!

Got an update yesterday...we had 3 embryos suitable for freezing!

  32. winter_wonder

    persimmon / 1479 posts

@Kelli_Deluxe: When I switched from my OB to RE it was really last minute so there wasn't enough time to get everything faxed over. But, I filled out paperwork so my records could be forwarded. I agree with what @FLIEGEPILZHUT said about having your own copies of records too. That doesn't hurt! Luckily I had asked for DH's SA results at his urology appointment and was able to take those with me at my first appointment. Good luck with move and transitioning!

    @mrswin: Yay! That's a relief!

  33. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@Kelli_Deluxe: My old office has online access to all of my tests and records so I printed everything and brought them to my consultation. I believe if they wanted something official from my office, they would have me sign the records release form and send and request it from the old office.

@travelgirl1: You could still have letrozole, but they may want to decrease the dose. Sorry about the visa stress. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

@mrswin: Woohoo! Glad your E2 was normal!

@FliegepilzHut: Congratulations on your transfer and your embabies for freeze! I'll be thinking of you during this wait!

@mrswin: I'm glad you are able to continue your stims! Fx that little cyst stays out of the way!

@PurplePumps: I hope that sangria tasted like heaven. Sorry about your bfn

@TheSwissWifeStyle: Good luck at your new doctor appt today!

@Warbler: I'm sorry DH's numbers haven't improved. I hope the new RE can guide you both in the right direction! Have a great time on your road trip!

@Mrs. Pinata: I've been feeling like God's thinking I need the same lesson

@travelgirl1: It's such a strange, happy thing when your cycle starts after a loss. The only time I'm happy my body works like clockwork! Glad you're feeling better, day by day. Good luck this cycle!

I had nice, long weekend with DH this week. We drank and ate entirely too much, and despite being right by the beach, we didn't even go! But it was relaxing and fun. I'm lucky enough to see him again this weekend, then again in 3wks before we spend another month apart.

No IF updates for me, other than beginning to hunt for an RE in Arizona.

My favorite beach is Victoria Beach in Laguna Beach, CA. We did our trash-the-dress wedding photos there and it is absolutely pristine!

@mrswin: That's interesting about the cyst. At my clinic, my RE drains the cyst (if it is large) during retrieval. My last IVF cycle he did that and it will probably be the case again since I have another cyst this time as well. Mine wasn't big enough that he thought I'd need birth control or to wait to proceed, so he'll probably drain it during the retrieval. I'm so glad you can still get started on time. When do you start stims?
