what are you making and how?
Curious and want to challenge myself and oh because I have all this free time. (Sarcastic)

We as a family will go as sesame street characters, as LO loves sesame street. Dh will be Elmo, which is easy. Just wear all red and put some ping pong ball eyes on a red hat. I'll be cookie monster (I'll have a big pregnant belly) also easy, pretty much the same as elmo but blue.
LO will be Abby Cadabby. I've already made her a pink and purple tutu for a princess costume for Purim, so she'll wear that. For her shirt I bought a plain teal shirt from Target and I'm making leaf shapes out of felt that I'll sew on. She already has pink fairy wings from the dollar store, and she just happened to get a blue wand for her birthday so she can carry that. All that's left is the hair..... I have purple and pink yarn that I'll hot glue onto a pink hat and make it into pig tails.

Last years costume was super easy. We went as the muppets- I was miss piggy, DH was beeker, and LO was kermit. I bought her green pj's and hand sewed on the triangles, then after I removed them so she could wear the pj's to bed. I bought her a green hat and sewed some felt eyes on. It looks very hand made but I'm ok with that

Not sure what I'm doing this year, but last year I sewed W 's elephant costume and I was the ring master (DH was deployed).
I got the pattern for his costume at Jo-Ann fabrics.

@Mrs. Pen: Haha, C was Leia last year!
The 3 of us are going as Alice, the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat this year. C is going to be the Cat. Im going to make hers from scratch. I'm thinking a hooded dress made from stripes of pink and purple jersey with a cute fluffy skirt where the stripes would be tiers of ruffles. Then purple tights and I'd use pink/purple striped fur to make her a fluffy tail, ears, cuffs and shoe-covers. DH and I will probably be lazy and buy or rent ours.

There's no way I'll do it this year since Baby 2 will be coming a bit before Halloween, but last year he was an iPhone ... no sewing needed!

@Mrs. Yoyo: adorbs!
I made LOs costume for 2 halloweens. One was the Bruce lee - I made the yellow jumpsuit. Last year, I made him a Kung fu panda costume. I just kind of winged it both times. I took one of pj's I copy for size. My daughter recycled the Bruce lee costume last year and dressed up as Beatrix kiddo from kill bill.

@MsLipGloss: Lol, LO was too little to pick something an I wanted DH to have fun with it so I picked something he would like. He definitely had more fun then LO that Halloween
