Thanks to @mae I'm having fun playing with my new canon rebel. I have a canon powershot g11... should I sell it? it seems strange to just have it around. WHat did you do?
Where do you sell used cameras? Amazon has a trade in of $150....

I'd either sell it or give it to someone. I usually just give my old electronics away.

I've always given my old cameras to my parents or brothers.

I would keep it! I have a dslr and a point-and-shoot. There will be situations where you want to take better photos than your phone can take, but won't want to cart around a dslr.

I kept it and I still use both cameras!

I have a Nikon dSLR and still keep my crappy point and shoots (some Canon... and a waterproof one) for little outings that I don't feel like lugging around my big camera for. We don't have iPhones (the ONLY good camera phones I've seen!) so we can't really rely on our crappy Droids for good shots on the go.

@ShayNanigans: that's the thing - the powershot is pretty big? almost the same size as the DSLR minus the lens. '
@HabesBabe: we both have iphones! i think its pictures are often as good/better than my powershot.....

@scg00387: Oh wow - my dslr is enormous compared to my P&S, which is small. In that case, yes, sell! (esp if your phone takes better photos anyhow)

I gave mine to my 13 year old niece, but it was only a cheap Kodak Point and Shoot. I don't think I would have gotten much for it.

@scg00387: we kept ours. We usually prefer to take that hiking/snowshoeing/kayaking because it's less bulky and less scary to be a klutz with.

@scg00387: Oh, here's a question. Do you ever take video? If so, you may want to keep your G around for that if you use it for video unless the new SLR does video as well. (I have no idea!)

@sunny: that is a good point! I think my iphone, again, takes good videos... I think I'm going to research places to sell it
