I weaned at 17 months. It was too long. I was exhausted and needed my sleep. She would have kept going forever if I had let her. Haha.

I'm still nursing my big girl once a day at three years old and I'm also nursing my 7.5 month old. I have NO idea how I'm going to wean the 3yo!

15 months. He got his first cold and was having trouble latching because he couldn't breathe through his nose. By the time he was better I had dried up. My long-term goal was 12 months, and I figured anything after that as just lagniappe. We were down to one nightly/early morning mostly comfort session, and I'm pretty sure my supply was already very low by then, and I hadn't been pumping for a while. I was thrilled with how long we made it, and relieved that I didn't have to force him to wean.

DD1 weaned at 15 months. I just didn't offer one day to see what she would do. She just didn't do anything.
DD2 weaned at 9.5 months. My supply had mostly dried up because of DD3. She was never as into it as DD1.

I weaned DD1 at 25 months. DH and I had agreed 2 years is our comfort zone. And I was pregnant and had no interest in tandem nursing.
dD2 is 14.5 months and shows no sign of stopping...

I started cutting my son down at about 10 months with the goal of getting to just twice a day (morning and night) by a year, when I had to go back to work. That went fine, he didn't seem affected by it, and then I was willing to keep nursing indefinitely but he weaned himself the rest of the way by about 14 months - first he started fighting the morning session, then the nighttime one.

20 months, she self weaned. I'm really glad it went really smoothly- and turns out I was pregnant so glad I never had to deal with nursing and being pregnant at the same time. I do wish I could have had a bit of a gap between nursing and being pregnant again though- it's a lot.

18.5 months for DD1. It was a combo of me actively weaning and her being over it.

I was pregnant and had pretty much dried up at 13.5 months. I handed him a sippy one am and he never looked back.
@Foodnerd81: I feel you, I'm 6 months into nursing LO2 and I am so over it. I think a month or 2 break would have been so refreshing.

DS - 20 months- I weaned him, I was just done
DD - 15 months - self weaned, I was sad

Still nursing 1x before bed at 18 months old. I don't think she'd care if we stopped (I'm pretty sure it's just comfort nursing as I think my supply is non existent), but I'm afraid to stop as we are in a good place with sleep and I don't want that to stop (knock on wood!!)

@jetsa: I had one week before finding out I was pregnant and I was like, woohoo I can have ALL the medicine... Oh crap.

I weaned DD1 at 14 months. We were already down to one session and I was 3 months pregnant so I was also really sensitve. I just stopped offering and she didn't seem to notice at that point. She did keep her hand in my clevage as comfort for a few months after that though lol
6.5 months in woth DD2...I'm hoping to wean her around the same time line as DD1. I don't remember what it feels like to not have the extra hormonal/physical load of supporting 2 lives. I'm ready for everyone to be separate from me! lol

On her 3rd birthday. I was DONE and so I made a big deal about how once she turned 3 there was no more mommy milk. Worked like a charm.

@Foodnerd81: Yes! I got pregnant as soon as I weaned DD. I had a one month stretch of not nursing/not knowing I was pregnant and I wish it had been longer!

19 months. It was hard - she didn't want to but at the same time she was ready if that makes sense. Bittersweet.

Just a few weeks ago at 19 months on the dot. I'm pretty sure our short bedtime and morning sessions were pure comfort nursing anyway.

16 months. We were down to one session per day, in the morning. I was so happy to be done. FREEDOM!!!
It's been 4 months and he still asks to nurse most days.

DD will be two in a couple weeks and is still very attached to morning/evening nursing. Fortunately or unfortunately, I still have a pretty good supply (I had to pump for my own comfort when on a recent business trip and based on that I think she's probably getting ~5 oz each time she nurses) and I have a feeling she won't want to quit as long as she's still getting the good stuff. My head wants to push weaning but my heart won't let me. Sigh.

14 months. I went away for a work trip, and we weaned cold turkey over 8 days. I came home and still had milk, though. She wanted to nurse, but I cut it off at that point. I figured a clean cut off would be good for both of us. But I do still miss it sometimes!

13 months. He was no longer interested and refused about half the time, so I stopped offering. I was also newly pregnant, so that probably had something to do with it.

I weaned DS2 at 26 months. We were down to one session at bedtime (and i was not necessarily putting him to bed everyday - maybe 4 times a week), and I chose to wean because I started TTC, though i am not sure we would have kept going much longer. I do wonder sometimes how long it would have lasted if i let him self-wean.

We always supplemented with 1 bottle of formula but I weaned to FF at 9.5 months.

19 months. I was 4.5 months pregnant, and nursing her had started to hurt really badly. I got her down to once a day, but she didn't want to drop that session. She cried and cried and I felt awful. My 12 month old is still nursing 4x a day.

21 months. She decided she was done. It was still rough for a few weeks after that but she settled into the new routine.

@mediagirl: 26 months, same as you, he would have kept go8ing if i let him, but i was done. i really wanted to hit 2 years

14 months the first time, he did it himself.
At 14 months the second time around and I can't get this kid to wean!

I think around 14 months we cut back, but DS self weaned around 18 months because I was pregnant. We'll see what DD does as I have no intention of ending my supply with another pregnancy this time.

A week short of one year.. I had really crazy eczema and it was getting so bad I needed steroid cream. My husband could take one week off right before he turned one. So we planned for him to take care of our son for that week while I steroided it up and healed. So that was the decision maker for me.
