Definitely! he trusts me to get what we both like but I still ask his opinion.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
Yep. We buy those together. He likes to have input on all decor choices. Thankfully our taste is similar.
watermelon / 14206 posts
Yep. I have to strike a balance between my whimsy and his dullness, lol
papaya / 10343 posts
I would only because it would be sort of a big purchase. I don't usually spent 100+ without talking to him.
grapefruit / 4817 posts
I'm in the market for one now, but I don't ask his opinion unless I'm really torn. And then I go with the opposite of what he chooses. It's our thing.
That said, he always likes how the end product turns out and compliments me regularly on how nice things look when I change them. I repainted our bedroom this weekend, and he rolled his eyes at the color, but now that it's done, he insists it looks so much better in person and done than what he thought it would.

@BananaPancakes: Haha. There's been a few times where I did the opposite of what he wanted. That's when I get the 'Why do you ask my opinion, if you already made up your mind?' LOL! Because I can say I, at least, asked you.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
No, i wouldn't, actually! He just doesn't care and has no input
grapefruit / 4311 posts
@Dandelion: haha!! I love your description, sounds like how I do things.
grapefruit / 4817 posts
@bluestriped bee: Ha ha, he says the same thing about why do I even asked him if I'm just going to do the opposite! I like to keep him on his toes.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
Nah, he trusts me, and if he really dislikes it I exchange it!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@runnerd: It's tricky! I have to find something that's not too fun, and not too boring, lol. Usually I find something in navy or charcoal that has a fun print on it.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
Well, as long as I don't buy something overly floral or girly (which I'm not into anyways) he doesn't care what I use as our bedspread. That being said, a bedding set would be more than our set limit we can spend w/o checking with each other so, my answer is yes I would check with him.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Yep! I figure it is our room, he needs to have input as well.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
Yes he has strong opinions on it. It's really annoying! We have been looking for a new duvet since April, finally agreed on one at Christmas, and now we are still unsure about it.
@Dandelion: your description is so perfect.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
I show him everything. If he doesn't have a visceral reaction, then that means he likes it.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
We picked the last one out together, he wants to make sure our bedroom is gender neutral, he was very clear about no flowers on the bedspread
bananas / 9118 posts
The only thing he cares about is the price, so I always have a budget in mind. I doubt be would be a fan of anything super flowery or girly, but I would hate that anyway so our tastes match up well.
If it were up to him, we would still be using the same bedding he had when we were dating over a decade ago.
coconut / 8483 posts
Nope he wouldn't care! When we built our house we decided on a budget for the bedroom furniture/decor and my BFF and I went shopping for it all - it was great! lol
bananas / 9899 posts
Yeah we usually pick that stuff together. I think he lets me choose the style for the most part since he doesn't have an eye for that really, but he still OKs it.
bananas / 9628 posts
I would probably pick a few I thought he'd be okay with and ask him which he liked. I know it can be very colorful, busy or cutesy.
pear / 1609 posts
yep. we are looking for a duvet cover now. We have agreed on a color but not an actual cover yet.
nectarine / 2878 posts
We have very similar taste and I never pick anything too girly. Most of the time we buy it together but I am pretty confident he wouldn't care if I would just go get it myself
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
Definitely...most home decor items he doesn't care about but he was worried about our new bedding being too girly. Luckily I found something that combined my love for romance-inspired pieces with his desire for simplicity.
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
My mom's bought all of our comforters for us. DH likes them all.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
Style, no. He doesn't care about that. He cares about the money aspect though, so we would talk about that for sure.
pomelo / 5509 posts
I would discuss the purchase with him because of the fact that I'd be spending a decent chunk of change, but not necessarily for his decor opinion...he is completely, totally color blind. It's bad.
nectarine / 2886 posts
Yes, we just bought a new duvet cover, which took forever because DH was emphatic about not having a floral pattern! He's usually pretty easygoing about home decor but he was very specific about that!
nectarine / 2220 posts
We both like a very soft, plain white duvet cover. It's like sleeping in a cloud, and makes the room look so relaxing to me. So... it doesn't take much thought when it needs to be replaced, so no. But in general I don't pass decor decisions past him. He trusts my taste/doesn't care.
pomegranate / 3729 posts
I would check with him for money purposes, but I think he could give a crap what it looks like.
