This is a spin-off of the blog post. I like the idea of a diaper liner to ease poop clean up. I've hears horror stories about different liners, though--any suggestions? What did you use?

Though we cloth diaper, we've never used disposable liners. We use a diaper sprayer to rinse off poop.

@pelikila: What do you do when you're out somewhere? I've always wondered that.
We use bumkins flushable liners.

@artbee: We don't spray it until we get home. For example, our daycare just gently folds them and puts them in the wetbag. When I get home, I take them out and spray those that need it. When we are travelling I do the same. If we stay for an overnight, I use the toilet water and do a dunk and swirl kind of thing to get the poop off.

@pelikila: Since you're pre-rinsing, do you still have to do an extra rinse through the washer to get the diapers clean? Or is one standard run through enough?

We use a brand from the grocery store, nothing fancy.
We don't flush them though, they get disposed like a diaper once the poop is scraped off.

@Mrs. D: We are only spraying to get poop off the pocket diaper so all inserts (and fitteds since we use them at night) will still need a rinse in the washer before doing a wash with detergent. The first rinse in the washer is to get all the urine out of the diaper. The extra rinse many people do after the wash with detergent is to get any possible remaining detergent out of the diaper to prevent repelling.

thanks for the replies! I saw a blog post (I think - or maybe on WB) about a cloth-diapering mama who instead of using a diaper sprayer, purchased a shower head that comes down (to use on a pet, child, etc) and used that.
with that logic - wouldn't running it under the bathtub faucet work?
just curious - I wish I could post pictures here on hellobee, but our bathroom is such a bad set up (old house, remodeled bathroom). The toilet is NOWHERE near where the changing table is going to be. Literally the opposite side of the room, behind the tub. However, the tub is 2 feet from the changing table.

Our toilet doesn't have an external connection, so we couldn't do a diaper sprayer. I just use the hand held shower head in the bath, and rinse into a bucket, that I then dump into the toilet. Not the most efficient, but I make do.
I use a wet pail, so my liners are always soaking.

@sorrycharlie: Our changing table is in my son's nursery and we take his diapers into the guest bath down the hall. It's not that bad but it isn't for everyone.
