Ok he's been in his crib crying for about 10 min. He just had a bottle so I know he's not hungry ! PLEASE LET HIM GO TO SLEEP
I hate this. Someone tell me in the long run this is what's best for all of us

@coacheswife123: In the long run its what's best for you guys. seriously, though, you're doing great. And yay for your husband getting in on the nap training action.

Ahhhhh still crying. We are doing extinction. I don't think he would respond well to checks and he's been up almost 4.5 hrs now he's GOT to give up soon.
I'm pumping and sitting next to the running dishwasher trying to ignore. Torture

@coacheswife123: I just put L down at 8 (he fell asleep at 730 in my arms and I had to hold him for a half hour) and he woke up at 917. I let him cry. It took 7 minutes but he fell back asleep. I kept thinking, you can do this, @coacheswife is probably doing the same thing right now!
Then I called my mom and told her I was a bad mom, and she talked me through it.
ETA: ps, you're not a butt hole.

@coacheswife123: This IS what's best for us/them, I promise! We're teaching them to go the F to sleep! My dentist STILL has to lay in bed w/her 2yo every night until he falls asleep. For like 90 minutes!
Homey dont play dat. Moms needs to be hanging out w/DaDa, getting some QT!

@coacheswife123: You are not a big butt hole!! Teaching him to sleep by himself. My old boss told me she still has to sit in the room for her 10 year old to go to sleep! You don't want that!!!

@dagret: I'm right there with you girl !! He cried for 45 then went to sleep and hasn't moved. I'm praying for a really good night for all of us!!

@PrincessBaby: @Smurfette: exactly ! Today my boss was like " you arent going to be able to hold him and bounce him to sleep forever because he will be too big - then what are you going to do". So so true. I keep telling myself that it will get better each night until eventually there are little to no tears ! We stood strong tonight - going to try to keep them momentum going ! Thanks for the encouragement ladies !

@Mrs. Bee: ah I am so paranoid I'm heading down this road! Going to see how ds does tonight and the. Might try some form of sleep training soon. I'm barely making it through 1-2 wake ups anymore!

@coacheswife123: 2nd wake up- 27 minutes of hysterical crying. I'm doing checks at 10 minutes bc it seems to work for him. Dear god, that was awful.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@coacheswife123: he usually wakes at 330 too. I'm not sure if I'm going to feed him then or not - I think I will try smurfette's' finger trick. How's J hanging? By the way, I totally wouldn't have the guts to do this if it wasn't for you.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@dagret: he slept until just now (3:30) and DH is feeding him. I'm praying he just goes back to sleep because if not we will have to put him down and probably hear him cry. Give me an update on L !

@coacheswife123: Good luck! H has been screaming for 13 minutes since I just fed her. I am about to blow my brains out. I'm on the edge for sure. I'm doing this by myself and it's been 5 nights. I thought we'd be at no crying by now. I wasnt prepared for this. I dont know how much longer I can do it.

@PrincessBaby: stay strong! You've been doing awesome !!!! Praying H goes to sleep!
J sleeping again I think. Whew.

@coacheswife123: @dagret: How did the middle of the night wake ups go?
@PrincessBaby: Keep it up! I know it is hard, especially by yourself, but you can do it. There are going to be nights that are way harder but I promise you in the end it is worth it!!

@Smurfette: he woke at 3:30 so we gave him a bottle since he hadnt had once since 7 and he wiggles a bit when T put him down but I think he was mostly asleep. 6:00 here and he's still asleep !
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@Smurfette: He was hungry when he woke up at 1:30 (after I waited 10 minutes to go in there - it was escalating) and I fed him. The same thing happened at 430. He slept till 8 am!
I'm not sure what to do going forward.

Why don't you just try reducing the ounces in his middle of the night bottle? if you reduce slowly, eventually he won't wake up for just an ounce (hopefully)!!!
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@dagret: our little twinsies are so hungry ! I'm ok with giving him the bottle as long as he either goes to sleep after or can get to where he puts himself to sleep??? Is that bad ?
DH just text me. Less than 5 min crying for his first nap of the day!
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@coacheswife123: I know! And honestly. L goes right to sleep after he eats. Half the time I fall asleep bfing!
Maybe we will just nap train. Gah.
Yay J and DH!

@dagret: well j fell asleep taking his bottle - we will see how the wake up goes ! Good luck tonight friend !

Someone remind me why to do about a 4 a.m. Wake up? He just woke up and took a bottle (had been asleep for 9 hrs) and i put him back down but feel bad bc I don't think he's tired. He cried for less than a min and now is just laying there staring into space ? Should I let him lay or just get up for the day
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@coacheswife123: The 4/5am wakeup confuses me too!!! But I think that it's still considered "night sleep" and you want them to go back to sleep for a couple of more hours...A couple of mornings H didnt go right back to sleep so we just cuddled quietly in dimly lit room and she went back to sleep in like half hour after she nursed. Today she woke up at 5a (STTN!!!) and she nursed and passed out so hard that I coukdnt even get her to really wake up a little before putting her in the crib. So I couldn't get her "drowsy but awake" so I probably just totally ruined our sleep training bc I nursed her to sleep. Gah!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@coacheswife123: I always put back to sleep at 4/5. I bet he falls back asleep.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@coacheswife123: I bailed. I'm just not ready yet. And DH isn't on board yet.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@PrincessBaby: @Smurfette: I let him lay with us for about 15 min and he started rubbing his eyes so I went and laid him back down and he rolled over and went to sleep and is still out! No crying ! Wowwww ! Oh and J passed out hard after his bottle before bed last night but I don't care ! I don't think it's messing us up (hope not ?!)
@dagret: you know L better than anyone and when ( or if!) it's time you will know. And I totally would cave of T wasnt making me stay out of his nursery!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@coacheswife123: Awesome!!
@dagret: Nothing wrong with that. If you and LO aren't ready, that is ok.
grapefruit / 4235 posts
@coacheswife123: @Smurfette: Thanks for the support, ladies. We'll see what happens!
@coacheswife123: how'd it go last night?
pineapple / 12053 posts
@coacheswife123: definitely let him lay there at 4 am! that's not up for the day!!
and we tried to wait 10-15 minutes last night but she was hysterical for all 10 minutes. DH and i gave up. i can deal with 1-2 night wake ups for a while longer, especially because she goes right back to sleep if i put her in her crib.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
@dagret: last night went well! I put him down at 7:30 and he slept until 4:30 then took his bottle. He seemed awake so I pulled him in bed with us and after 15 mins he started rubbing his eyes so I put him back in his crib and he rolled over and went right to sleep! Hoping tonight goes well, too.
@birdofafeather: I hate to hear him cry. Luckily we only had one bad night so far and the rest have been little to no crying. THE WORST.
GOLD / grapefruit / 4007 posts
Less than 5 min of crying tonight ! He was pretty much asleep after his bottle but opened his eyes so I gave him a good burp and put him down ! So proud of him. Hope for another good night !
Thanks to everyone for the encouragement to hang with this !
