My treatment was based on my cycle (not batched) and I was on BCP for one cycle, stopped taking them at CD 21, got a a period, and started stims on CD 3. I imagine if they're batching you they'd just have you take the BCP continuously for longer to line up with their schedule. Good luck!

My clinic does a cycle each month and everyone is in a batch. Well, starts off that way at least. Of course everyone gets on their own schedule once they're being monitored. Because of this, though, I was on BCP for about 5 weeks before we got going with IVF. I'm a good responder, though, so I needed a lot of suppression. I also did a lot of Lupron before stims to suppress. I started stims on CD 5.

@FliegepilzHut: I am! I'm actually in a TWW right now though (only 1 DPO). If I don't get a then it's right into the FET cycle.

@FliegepilzHut: I didn't, but that was because I did an antagonist cycle for DOR and if they suppressed me any further I would have had basically no follicles.

My clinic didn't batch...this is actually the first time I'd heard of batching. I started on bcp's but can't remember what day stims started.

I did a genetic panel bc of ancestry also (French Canadian) and did an HSG prior to starting IUIs .... I never did an SHG.

@FliegepilzHut: I didn't do an SHS or genetic testing. I did have an HSG about a year prior to IVF.

@FliegepilzHut: That would be great Are you participating in the sock swap some of the IF ladies are doing?

ETA: I just had the saline hysteroscopy done, was similar to the HSG no real pain other than the resident couldn't get past my cervix so the RE stepped in to do it instead

Also, the only genetic testing we did was blood work for Cystic Fibrosis. DH is a carrier (and it's the cause of our infertility), but mine came back negative.

I did do a saline hysterosonogram as well - everyone had one - they called it a "mock transfer" - they wanted to make sure on the day of the transfer they didn't have issues accessing your cervix!

Mine was based on my cycle, but they did have me take BC until all test results were in. I had an initial phone consultation in June (then took at 2 week vacation). I had my first appointment in early July and immediately went on BC. I then had to do tons of blood tests. I started stimming early August.

A SHS was required, but I had one done already through my regular doctor.

@FliegepilzHut: I just did my saline sono last week. If you're on BC pills it can be done at any time I believe. I had to be on doxycycline for 5 days - one day before, one day of the sono and the rest after the sono. My first one was very messy but this one was great.

July 31st was probably around CD 1 or 2. I can't remember exactly. But it took me typically 1 or 2 days after stopping BC to get my period. They weren't really concerned about what CD it was. I went in for a baseline ultra sound on the 30th so that they could make sure that everything was quiet and then I was given the ok to start the shots.

I'm just starting with IVF. They do not batch at our clinic. I should be starting BCP this week (once AF gets here). I am scheduled for an SHS (or mock transfer) on 05/12, which is required at my clinic. I don't think she based that appointment on my cycle (possibly since I am starting BCP?), it seemed to be based around RE's schedule to be honest. I did not have to update my HSG (which was done 04/2013). I needed an updated PAP, which I just did, and I need to update my day 3 blood work once AF gets here.

DH does not need to update his SA, but our doctor recommends that he provides a sample to freeze to take some of the pressure off. Apparently our RE has had some patients who have been unable to provide a sample the day of due to stress, and didn't have frozen back up. He also needs to be tested for HIV and Hep B & C I believe (I'd have to look at the paperwork).

We have to take the class on injections as well, which we are going to talk about scheduling at our 05/12 appointment, and then we will go from there.

It's kind of overwhelming, and I still have a bunch of questions, but I am sure I will get some more answers at our next appointment. Best of luck to you!

Thanks! I am excited for you too! I hope things go smoothly. My monitoring is all happening at the clinic, and then we have to go to a hospital that is a couple hours away from us for the retrieval/transfer. I hope you will keep us updated as well!
