I am just beginning to build my freezer "stash," though since we don't have a deep freezer it can't be very big. If you freeze pumped milk, how many oz are in your regular freezer?

I always had about 150-200 oz. It wasn't intentional, but it was nice to have!

@Weagle: that's awesome! i am psyched about my measly 8.5, but ya gotta start somewhere! did you still have space for food in there?

250. I can't wait to have more of my freezer back. We were tight on space!

@maybebaby: It takes a bit of time! We did have enough room for food. We don't keep that much in the freezer, mainly veggies and some pizzas. The gift bag method helped us keep it all organized.
ETA: I'm a SAHM, so it was pretty easy for me to pump extra when I needed to. I just had a conversation about this with some WOHM friends, and they said it's been harder to keep up a stash as time went on.

I have never counted but less then 100ozs for sure, maybe even just 50ozs. R wouldn't nap unless I held her during maternity leave, and was eating every 2.5 hours then, so I never got a chance to build up a stash. I can't imagine having too much more, it is already taking up a whole drawer in the freezer.

We don't have a deep freezer but we do have an extra fridge/freezer in the garage, which is where I keep it. I have all of 25oz....yay. ;p

@Bookworm: that's a great start!! i need to make pumping more of a priority.

@maybebaby: thanks it's so hard to fit in! The only time I'm able right now is while DH does her middle of the night formula feed. Other than that, I just can't find the time...I need to make it a priority too, though. I don't think my pumping is going to be able to keep up once I go back to work, so I really need to start stashing!!

@Smurfette: The little stash that I did have got tossed due to thrush . . . which took about 3 weeks to clear up, and then I went back to work.

@MsLipGloss: I can't imagine having to throw out all that milk

@maybebaby: before we bought a deep freezer I had 250+ oz. in the freezer. It was sad to not have any room for ice cream..

I probably have around 180oz. It's taking up a lot of room AND I'm storing some of it in the door like you're not supposed to. Oh well.

@highwire: Given all your struggles I would be darn proud of that 30oz. I think it is so great you are still pumping, I would have given up.

@Smurfette: Haha thanks! I am proud of that stash. Although we have been trying to cycle through it lately, and I have excess lipase or something because the thawed milk smells SO SOAPY!!! I have to cut it with fresh milk to convince her to drink it.

I have around 85 oz...taking up the top shelf of my freezer (side by side fridge/freezer). Not sure what I am going to need it for yet, though I am sure I will be glad when I do!
