We didn't get a ton, but some - and I just held on to them in case I needed them... Then, ended up giving them to a friend!

We gave away some to friends and donated the rest to the local food bank. They were really excited to get the formula.

The moms FB group I'm on has people swap/give away them occasionally too.

I ended up with TONS of samples (maybe 10 cans, 12 single packs and some pre mixed ones), I put them on Craigslist and FB to give away to those in need.

I only got a few samples so I kept them for emergencies. If I had a ton I would give to friends.

I listed formula samples and coupons on Craigslist and gave them away for free.

I donated most but kept a few in case of an absolute emergency.

Donate it to a women's shelter. That's what I did with the samples of brands we couldn't use.

Do you belong to a moms Facebook group in your area? I would post on something like that!

I was absolutely dead set on EBF, but decided to keep the free samples I got in the mail, just in case. I was happy I did, because I was later diagnosed with chronic low supply and nothing I did would increase it, much. The free samples were a lifesaver and helped to buffer the costs our first few weeks of supplementing. DD is on sensitive formula, so all the full-lactose samples were donated to a friend.

I put them in my garage, because I didn't want to just throw them away. Eventually a friend stopped breastfeeding and needed them, so I happily gave them to her. If not for that, I'd have given them to a food bank.

I formula feed, but had to switch my daughter to a sensitive version so I googled "baby formula donation" and my city to see what came up. They were SO thankful to get the donation.
