@ShootingStar: Do you live in the MA area? And did you send/fax your Rx to them?
ETA: I see you are in the boston area. I'm in pa and called several DME here and cannot get a freestyle but the PISA equivalent (I have a PISA so wanted to upgrade as insurance said I have no limitations on pump). I have a script on hand from my doctor so I wasn't sure if I could use Cambridge and fax it to them?

@anbanan15: I do live in the Boston area. I called them to order it, and emailed them the rx because it was easier than faxing. I ended up living it up in person, but they would've shipped it. They were very nice.

@ShootingStar: Thanks! I will have to call and see what they say and great idea about emailing it!

where are you delivering? I was able to get mine at the hospital. My doctor wrote the rx after I delivered and then they brought me the pump. I delivered at Brigham. For what it's worth my insurance told me I would have to pick it up but my doc told me that they come to the hospital. Maybe ask your doctor?

@ShootingStar: I called and they do not ship out of state
@StrawberryBee: Great! I'll check it out!
@brady80: I already delivered I asked for the script the day after I delivered, but my midwife wasn't able to write me one on the spot and mailed it out the following week.

@StrawberryBee: I just called and they don't take my insurance.
I'm not sure why this is so difficult...I called several local, in network DME and they don't even carry pumps/breastfeeding supplies, let alone the freestyle (and yes a free pump is a free pump, but I already have a PISA and if insurance is going to cover a freestyle why not upgrade?).

@anbanan15: Boo, sorry to hear it! FYI, my insurance made me pay an upgrade amount for the Freestyle (I think maybe $120?). I could have gotten the PISA equivalent for free.

@anbanan15: what insurance do you have? When I called bcbs they gave me a list if places. I think there is a medical supply place across the street from children's.

@brady80: BCBS. I already called the local DME list they gave me and they don't offer pumps but one which only has the PISA equivilant. It's also confusing when I call these places because we have BCBS MI but live in PA. Did BCBS cover your freestyle in full? When I asked before they said their was no limitations on the type of pump I got and that it would be covered, just that it had to come from a DME with Rx.

@anbanan15: sorry, I thought you were in mass. I have the medela advanced double pump. Give your doctor a call, maybe they can be helpful.

@anbanan15: FYI, I have used both and had a lot of issues with the Freestyle, I honestly thought the PISA was the better pump. The lactation consultant we worked with also highly recommended the PISA over the F. I understand wanting to get something new and nicer but if you can't make it work to get ahold of one, don't be too disappointed

@shellio: Oh that's good to know...I actually wonder if I would even respond to it? We rented a Symphony briefly with DS and I didn't respond to it at all. I got better results from my PISA.
