I hope to still be breastfeeding when I get pregnant & hope that P continues through pregnancy, even if I dry up, for comfort nursing... or atleast picks it back up.
I've known moms that weaned in their first trimester b/c they had major aversions to it & others that nursed all the way through never fully losing their supply.

I'm nursing at 12-1/2 weeks but I'm starting to feel fairly annoyed by it. My milk is starting to decrease so LO is also annoyed. She's almost 2 so it wouldn't be a big deal for her to stop.

@runsyellowlites: I currently have a crazy over supply again and am 8.5 weeks pregnant! Yesterday I pumped almost 11 oz.....it is like early pregnancy hormones have increased my milk supply. Is that possible?

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Wow I hope I do that! I had oversupply to begin with so maybe that attributes? If nothing else you could pump & have a stash so W can still have breastmilk even if you dry up/wean!

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I've gone in spurts so far, sometimes I feel like I have a fine supply, but this is the second time where I've felt like my supply has taken a hit. I'm not sure why it fluctuates so much.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: it slowly dropped until it was gone. DS1 nursed until then, mostly for comfort I think, but gave up on it when there was nothing left.

@runsyellowlites: have you heard of more milk two? It is designed for pregnAncy + breastfeeding. I have it, but haven't needed to take it yet.

DS was 22 months old when he weaned and I was about 2.5 months pregnant. The latch was painful and I imagine I didn't have as much milk, but I'm not really sure. If he'd been younger I think I would have made more of an effort to stick it out, but I felt like he was ready to be done anyway. It just sort of worked out naturally.
Interestingly, I have felt letdowns since the middle of my second trimester and definitely have colustrum if I hand express. I just started my third tri.

My milk production was one of the first indicators to me that I might be pregnant. I was only about 6-8 weeks in when my milk production dropped dramatically- we only nursed a few more times after that.

I kept nursing until baby 2 arrived.
I dried up at around 3 months pregnant, but I think my DD still got colostrum? It was mostly for comfort.

My son self-weaned about halfway through, then jumped back on the boob once the baby was born. He had not forgotten how after 5+ months!!
