And you got an epidural, did it stop working/not work at all? Reading the back labor thread it seems like there were a lot of failed epidurals!

Mine failed twice, once right at the onset of transition and the second time before pushing. I'm still glad I got it because it gave me a much needed chance to rest (I'd been up for 20 hours when I got the first one)...I firmly believe had I not had that I would have ended up with a c-sec.

I read somewhere that if you have back labor with one baby you're more likely to have it a second time. I was completely unprepared for it...if I have a second baby I'm going to focus more on learning pain management techniques. I was in so much pain all I could do was focus on breathing...I couldn't even open my eyes during a contraction! I labored sitting up in bed, hunched over, useless bloody epidural tube hanging out of my back. Probably not the most efficient way to handle it, lol.
