What would you choose?
I typically spend the same amount at both stores but I feel like I get a lot more and higher quality items at Costco. I love target runs but I spend a ton and come home feeling like I bought nothing! The budget doesn't have room for both

Target, no question. I feel like everything we buy at Costco is totally random.

Gah, what a hard choice. If I had to choose, I'd probably give up Target and stick with Costco. Costco has great produce for a lot cheaper than the grocery store.
I feel like any money I save by going to Target is nullified because I always end up with a cart full of stuff I really don't need when I only intend to buy deodorant or cleaning supplies.

I feel like Costco has higher quality merchandise, and it'd be soooo hard for me to give it up. But I hate how I end up wasting a lot of fresh food/produce I buy there. It's really hard for a family of three to finish a 5LB package of plums within a week!

@pinkcupcake: right? I wanted to buy string cheese yesterday at Costco but we can't freeze it so it just goes bad! But it's a great price for so many!

Target. They have more of my essentials. I try to not buy too much in bulk because it'll go bad before I get a chance to use them or I forget I have it.

Target- I feel like Costco is hit or miss with what they have- so my olay eye cream is def cheaper there but only if they have it in stock. Plus target is a lot closer to me where Costco used to feel like such an outing.
My target trips have gotten way cheaper since I started doing them with a cranky baby- now I'm just in and out as quick as possible!

Costco! !!
Unless I'm shopping for clothes or accessories for myself or LO. You can't get toddler hair bows or maternity dresses at Costco!
However, I love that Costco often has name brand clothing items, like Hanna Anderson sleepers, Levis jeans, designer perfume, etc.
Also love Costco over Target for electronics. Killer laptop deals!

I'd pick target. I get things that are more useful there and I can barely buy food at Costco because of it going bad.

Definitely Costco. The selection is smaller, but I feel like the quality is much better than at Target, and I don't get tempted to buy random things we don't need.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: exactly - we just bought a Hanna Andersen fleece top AND a pair of Levi's jeans there, plus 25 pounds of local, organic nectarines and peaches!

Target. Costco is great if you have a huge family/lots of room for bulk items. A lot of what we get at Costco goes to waste. Additionally, they don't carry everything we need. Our membership expired this month and I don't think we're going to renew it.

Same as @Mrs. Yoyo: if we're talking about "goods".
I don't buy any groceries/produce/meat at Target. So for that category, I'd have to choose Costco. But non-food items are better at Target overall.
I always end up with a handful of items at Costco randomly and shocked at the bill!

Both!! I couldn't live without either and go to both for different things. I don't even really consider them to be similar stores.

While I love both, I'd keep Target. Costco is great for toilet paper, paper towels, drinks, etc, but, most perishable items go bad before we can finish them. Target is my go-to for pretty much everything but groceries, but, in a pinch I can get some grocery items there too if needed.

Costco. I save $5-$7+ each time I fill up!
Not to mention savings on organic chicken, produce, organic eggs, etc. I do end up with some random stuff once in awhile though.

I love both (and dropped some serious cash at both TODAY... Whoops). But if I had to choose I'd keep Target. We go there way more often. Costco is very hit or miss for us.

@MrsMcD: I don't think they are similar - just in that I spend the same amount of money at each and I can't shop at both all the time!
Target has more random stuff (fun items that aren't really necessary) and Costco has more items in bulk that we use daily. DH thinks it's one or the other!

@HLK208: I totally know what you mean about Target and the little things. I used to buy a lot of clothes are target but haven't seen much there lately. I was just at Target today and texted my friend: "I wish I had unlimited money."

Target- I love the calm & "shopping" feeling when I shop at Target. We only go to Costco every couple of months for household supplies like paper towels, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper.
