I have about 400 oz that I haven't cycled through much since I wah and nurse whenever I can...
My friend at work purposely built a huge freezer during her maternity leave so she could stop nursing/bfing... and she did at 7 months or so.

I had 3000 oz and I used every last drop! I stopped pumping at 8 months

I probably have around 3-400 oz as well and do cycle through it. I WOH so I was wanting to stop pumping as much. DS2 is almost 9 months so I just started reducing my pumping sessions.

I'm following. Interested to hear what people have done. LO is 4 months old. Now that I am back to work I am pumping during the day, BF at night. I have built up quite a stash that I do not want to go to waste.

I exclusively pumped for my son's health reasons. I had 3000oz in the freezer at one point, probably around 6 months. But my supply started to decline around 9 months and it was used to supplement what I couldn't produce daily from then to 14 months when we stopped giving him breastmilk.

I stopped pumping at 9 months and went down to 1 nursing session a day --- he had breastmilk until 1 year thanks to my stash.
I still ended up donating about 300 ozs.

Used every ounce. I mixed it in with WCM after 12 months until we were out.

I'm expecting to move cross country before DD weans. I think it will be a PITA to transport the milk. I don't have a big stash at the moment because DD hates bottles. I've got about 200oz. I'm planning to donate it, but I have no clue how to do that. I need to research.

I forget how much I had stashed (it took up almost half our big freezer by a year!) but I was able to quit pumping at 12 months, quit nursing at 14 months, and DS still got breast milk until 15 months - 4- 5 oz bags / day.

@Mrs. Pickle: I just donated some through the Facebook page human milk for human babies. Great experience

One of my friends donated her extra stash to a milk bank in our state (affiliated with one of the nearby hospitals).
Here is more info too: http://www.nationalmilkbank.org/index.php/donor/i-m-ready-what-do-i-do

I just want to say that I'm impressed with some of these stashes! I have no stash at all right now, and am only pumping enough to make her bottles for the next day!

Donated it. Used the local Human Milk for Human Babies facebook page.

I reduced pumping at work at 10 months and stopped pumping at 12 months. I've also given some milk to a friend. My plan is to just keep giving her breastmilk bottles at daycare until it runs out, then switch to cow's milk. We still nurse at home.
(I had looked into donating to a milk bank with LO1 and I was not up for the tremendous paperwork. But the Human Milk for Human Babies facebook page looks intriguing! I'm going to see how much we have left after I get back from a week-long trip out of town.)

I would encourage anybody who's on the fence about freezer stash options to check out donating via the Human Milk Banking Association of North America: https://www.hmbana.org/donate-milk
I am in the process of getting screened to donate through a regional org associated with HMBANA, which is not-for-profit and donates milk to NICU preemies, to help with issues like:
-Prematurity
-Infants susceptible or recovering from necrotizing enterocolitis
-Failure to thrive
-Malabsorption syndromes
-Short-gut syndrome
-Trophic feeds/gut-priming
-Inborn errors of metabolism
-Pre and Post-operative nutrition
-Adoption
-Absent or insufficient lactation
-Illness requiring temporary interruption of breastfeeding
-Treatment for infectious diseases
-Immunodeficiency disorders
-Non-infectious intestinal disorders
I built up a stash of around 350 oz and cycled through it (one bag per day) to get rid of the older milk and replace it with new milk. I considered using the stash to give her breastmilk after I stop pumping at work, but I know she'll still benefit from nursing in the morning and at night, so I made the decision to use the freezer stash for donation. Hopefully I get approved.

DD refused bottles from 5 months - I regularly pumped once a day from 2 months to 11 months first thing in the morning and whenever I was away from DD for a feeding. When she was taking bottles I tried to cycle through the oldest milk.
I used some to make purees. By the time she was 11 months I had donated 2000oz. I also lost about 1000oz due to an unfortunate freezer situation.

I donated mine both times. One to a friend of a friend, and the second time to my best friend who wasn't producing enough.

I ditched about 100oz when we moved cross-country, after packing up ~250oz to bring with us packed in dry ice. DD2 was never a big bottle fan, though, so after my weekend away from her at 10.5mo, where she wanted nothing to do with thawed bm, I threw away almost 200oz. I would've loved to cycle through it and give her daily bm through 18m though!
I looked into donating to one of the milk banks, but tbh, it wasn't a very easy process for me living in a very rural area at the time. Plus, I know they need to cover their admin & health safety costs, but it rubbed me the wrong way that they charge parents for it.
I would've donated it directly if I had known anyone who needed it, but I wasn't comfortable with any of the options I had.

I donated a ton (via local human milk for human babies). Then I used the rest to send to daycare for milk after I stopped pumping at 12 mo until about 14 mo I think? Also used some to make pancakes for LO for breakfast, etc (if it was too old to drink directly).

With my first I pumped every morning and was only out of the house part time and pumped to replace all the bottles, so I had a huge stash. I donated it through human milkm 4 human babies.
Now with my second I'm home full time and he doesn't take a bottle. I've still been pumping every morning (in hopes I can use it with him) but have also donated to friends and I give glasses of it to my two year old.

@autumnlove: That's my plan! Did you do equal parts and then use less and less?

I donated over 400 oz. dd never took as much as I pumped so I just went ahead donated to the milk bank.

A gay couple on my parenting listserv posted requesting breastmilk and since Olive wasn't taking bottles I gave my frozen stash to them.

@simplyfelicity: I did equal parts for LO 1 but 3 parts BM to 1 WCM for LO 2 who had constipation issues after starting milk.
