Hellobee Boards

We have never read more than one book! He can't talk yet (13 mo) but I hope he understands the process and doesn't think he can get more than one! We read, then he gets his lovey, then we cuddle, then the crib.

We just tell him 2 more than 1 more then 'night night'. I think he understands now but he'll still protest to read more books. we'll just repeating several times that this is the 'last one' then 'night night'. Then we just pick him up, sing a song, and put him to bed. He's whimper a bit but usually settles within 30 seconds. Lately he's been wanting to bring stuff into bed with him, like a book or one of his Thomas trains - it seems to help the transition. He also likes to turn off the lights himself. It just gives him a sense of control I think.

We do two books at each nap and bedtime. Does he pick out the books he wants read to him? I would think if he sees the two books and you tell him it is these books and bed, he should be able to understand the concept of "2."
