Did you with your next baby? I tore so bad with A, it's my biggest fear this time around. Granted her head was coming out sideways so maybe that was part of the problem but I'm still dreading it happening again.

I had a 2nd degree tear with my 1st, but none with my 2nd. Recovery was amaziiing the 2nd time around... I was up and about in the hospital and going to the bathroom was painless! People couldn't believe I had just pushed a baby out.

My MW had a mom that had a 4th degree tear with her first (only 4th degree tear she's seen in her 20 years) that went on the have BIGGER babies & not tear at all!
I would really try to stay upright & try a different pushing position (I delivered on my side & didn't tear).
That and tell yourself "I'm going to get huge" until you believe it! I'm pretty sure that REALLY helped me! Lol

I tore with my first, and tore with my 2nd. 2nd wasn't as bad as the first though.
Pain and recovery wasn't bad at all either.
I was driving myself around 3 days pp.

I'm nervous about this too, also not pregnant with #2. Sounds like it's better the second time around.

My neighbor tore with # 1 and not with # 2! My mom tore with me and then not with my brother or sister, and I was the smallest and oldest.

I had an episiotomy and still tore a lot with my first. My second and third I had a tiny little "road rash", but no need for stitches. I tried different pushing positions in each of my labors, but ended up on my back for delivery with all of them (I actually preferred this position), so for me position didn't really impact anything.
