How did you decide?
I feel like there are pros and cons to all the ones we are considering! Then there's also the ones we're friendly with and don't want to offend.
ETA: I mean I don't want to offend them if we don't end up asking them.

@travellingbee: oh oops. To clarify, if we decide not to ask them.

How would that offend them if you didn't ask them? You can only choose one.
I chose the daycare worker at our old daycare because she was reliable and I felt she was trustworthy.

@junebugsmama: hahhaa I know!!! I have 6 I'm good with. It's DH that needs to make up his mind! But seriously, I'm so indecisive when it comes to shit like this.
@Mamaof2: oh, that's good.

So - at our daycare a lot of the girls already have many families who call on them - it can be hard to get "perferred" status if you will from some of the great ones.
We started using one of the younger/newer girls who's personality I liked and whom I knew DD liked. It worked well. But she was only 20 - so when it came time for our first overnight job I asked one of the older women (not old by any means - just 40 compared to mostly 20's) who I felt more comfortable with such a long stay. Since then we have developed a close relationship with her and she is my lifesaver many days! I hope one day she'll be pour part time nanny when my girls are in pre-school!
She has become our go-to now and we fill in with the younger girls as needed.
Bottom line - go with who you are comfortable with. Dont make a scene about it at the daycare and I bet it will go largely un-noticed. We had an experience where a younger girl was our fill-in (the older one was unavailable) and she did some snarky talking about it at school - like bragging. Needless to say we dont use her anymore!

@Mrs D: haha in my dream world we will grow to like / trust one enough and ask one to be a PT nanny/sitter when my older is in school. That would be an idea scenario!
My daycare is mainly younger girls. All under 30. And they are all for the most part friends! And we are very friendly with a lot of them. It's funny because they all talk to DH like he's their buddy. When they have issues putting together a big toy, they'll ask DH for help, etc. He doesn't mind. So, anyway, there's a very slim chance it'll go unnoticed, whom ever we ask.
But thank you for that long and helpful response!
I tend to overthink situations too much!

@regberadaisy: If you like them all equally - maybe go with the one you notice has less parents they sit for. Thats how we got our first one - she was new to the center and didnt have a steady inflow of sitting opportunities. It was great and we loved her - we only stopped using her because she started nannying ft and had pretty tight schedules!

We just started asking people. DS had 2 main teachers so we started with one of them. She and the other teacher are good friends, so of course she told her, and by the next morning the entire school had heard she babysat for us, lol. We ended up asking the other teacher a different time when the first one was busy. A lot of the teachers at our old school have second jobs and lots of commitments besides work, so if you have multiple options, that's good because you might need them.

LO's daycare is in home run by one woman. She has two part time employees and one has two daughters that also help. I asked the owner if either of her helpers babysit. Turns out she wanted to do it herself.

Start with whoever you/LO likes best, and you can obviously have your favorites, but it's awesome that you potentially have 6 options! Backups are good! I like to have at least 3 in my rotation at any one time.

I asked LO's current teacher who was the primary one in the infant room and when we needed a babysitter after he was in the toddler room we asked her again.
