DD was diagnosed at 2 weeks old because she had mucousy poop and the Dr did a blood test. She told me to go on dairy and soy free diet and I went back in 2 weeks later and tested DD's poop again and there was no more! So it took 2 weeks for us. But eliminating soy is really hard since it's in almost all processed quick food. I would suggest eliminating soy and see if that makes a difference.

@gilmoregirl: It took a really long time for my LO to totally clear up and I drove myself nuts looking at the poops and going crazy about my diet, so I understand! I hate to ask, but are you absolutely sure you haven't eaten any hidden dairy? In my case, we figured out that LO was MSPI in November, and I ended up eating a small amount of dairy at both Thanksgiving and Christmas because my family members thought they were making things dairy-free but they messed up. In one case, it was gravy that had whey in it, which my dad didn't even realize was dairy. My LO is super sensitive, so those little exposures really got her sick. Once I basically started bringing my own food everywhere and not eating out anymore (sigh), it took 3-4 weeks for her to seem better. If you are absolutely certain you've been dairy free, then I agree with the previous posters who suggested trying to take soy out too.

@gilmoregirl: That happened to me at Christmas, I ate something with butter and only figured it out later. You could try "re-starting" the clock at the wedding date and then see if your LO gets well again within 3-4 weeks of then. Good luck! It's promising that you were able to get him clear once after just eliminating dairy.
