So I can't answer your question because I never had a cervical check until 40+1. The reason I never had one, though, is because my midwives said that dilation is really no indication of when you'll go into labor. You could be 1 cm and go that night, you could be 3cm and go another 3 weeks. So in their opinion the only outcome of a cervical check is making women nervous that they'll go too soon or never at all.

That being said, I was 1cm and 50% effaced at 40+1 and at 41+1 I was still 1cm and 50% effaced.

I was 2-3 cm dilated and 60% effaced at 38 weeks and it was the same at 40 weeks... I gave birth at 40wk3d I don't think it means anything unless you are in labor... when I was checked in I was in labor and 5-6cm dilated.

I was a couple of Cm dilated and almost fully effaced by 37 weeks. Was exact same at 40+2

I think I was 0 at 37 weeks. At 39+1 I was 1/2 cm dilated. I had my daughter at 39+4.

36w no dilation but cervix was softenin up. 37+6 was 1-2 cm 90%, was told it could be days or weeks. Delivered at 38+1. Baby will come when he is ready! Totally different for everyone. Good luck, the end is in sight! Even though it doesn't feel like it.

3cm dilated with #2 and delivered 39+3

I was 4cm at 37 weeks and delivered at 38+1.

First baby, 0 cm and not effaced on a Friday afternoon-Saturday morning I was 9 cm and fully effaced (this was at 37 weeks)

Second baby, 3-4 cm and partially effaced at 36 weeks, baby born at 39 weeks!

40+5

I walked around 3 CM from 37 weeks til almost 42 when I was induced.

I was at 1-2cm at 36 weeks for LOs #2 and #3 and went into labor naturally at 39+5 and 40+1, respectively.

I was 2cm at 36 weeks with LO1 and he was born at 39+4.
With LO2 I wasn't dilated at all at 36 weeks and she was born at 37+2!
