...and the manager of the restaurant/store wherever you were, told you that you needed to leave, would you? I most definitely would not! I would tell them to call the cops and I'll wait there patiently for them. We live in one of the few states where there is no law protecting us nursing moms, but you better bet I would not leave without a fight.

I don't know. On principle I'd want to stay put, but I really doubt I'd have a good nursing session feeling so uncomfortable.

I definitely would leave immediately and would never return. I would not stay in a restaurant that didnt want me.

@Bao: I agree. I think I would make more of a scene about it then I was if they had just left me alone. We do have laws protecting nursing but they aren't all well known.

@Mrsbells: Yeah I think that way too. I just feel like since I feel so strongly about it, I'd want to make my point and see who backs me up. Only because I want something to change. Then I would most definitely never return and make sure everyone knew what happened.

How tragic for your state. I wouldn't leave without a huge fuss, and if it really came to that, I'd make a huge issue out of it. I'd set up a nurse in, call the media. It'd be huge.

I think I would start crying. Seriously! I would be so embarrassed that someone told me I had to leave the restaurant for feeding my child that I wouldn't know what else to do. I'd probably sit there, cry and continue to feed my child. Then, I would get up and leave, but not before not paying my bill.

I would totally make a big fuss about it but I would eventually leave. I recently nursed my DD at a food court in the mall and nobody said anything to me. I actually got a few smiles from strangers. And the couple that was sitting next to us kept staring at me and smiling at me. Kinda creepy actually but I know they meant it in a nice way.

We have laws protecting us in my state, but I don't know that if when it came down to it I would really have the balls to speak up! (Or the boobs...?)

Oy, I don't know what I'd do. I'd love to say I'd make a stink but I am super emotional and would probably be so sad and embarrassed!
I did nurse her in target at the little cafe and my friend was like, "what about if people say something?" (I think *she* was a little thrown off herself) and I said I'd just tell them I was feeding my baby and they were free to look elsewhere. But that's another random person, not a *manager*!

Do people really get upset about public nursing? I nurse my baby everywhere with a overup, even at church. No one even bats a eye.

I'd like to say I'd stay and make a scene, but I would probably just leave in a huff. If there were laws that protected my rights as a nursing mother though I would probably call a lawyer or report the establishment to the police.
