We try to burp DS. It sucks when he wakes up, but he's likely to wake up crying later or spit up if we don't burp him.

I burp my son. He wakes up early crying cuz he got a huge burp. My daughter used to have a lot of spit up so I like to burp her although she doesn't burp much.

I usually burp her... my logic is that if she wakes up a little, she can practice falling asleep in her bed, rather that in my arms. Plus, she usually spits up if not burped and that wakes her up anyway.
ETA: However, if burping tended to totally wake her up (like changing her does), I'd probably skip it.

We burp him. If we don't the extra gas in his belly wakes him up and it's a lot harder to get him down afterwards

If I burp her, especially if she's super tired, she wakes up and wants to play! I avoid moving completely once she falls asleep! Haha!

I let him sleep like just now. I had in the past, but he fully wakes up and harder to go back asleep.

I would always burp her very gently and just a few pats on the back. Usually if she was asleep enough for me to move to put her down, burping her wouldn't wake her up. If she woke up during burping, she'd wake up during the transition to her bed anyway.

I'm always so tempted to skip the burp, but when I do I totally regret it because then he wakes up crying. Boo!

I skip it!! But my LO almost never spits up and doesn't have gas issues so he never wakes up if I don't burp him.

I always nursed to sleep, but then again she never needed to be burped.

I always felt like if she needed to be burped she would tell me and seem uncomfortable, so I let her be. DH didn't know this and made the mistake once of burping her, so she woke up screaming then couldn't get her back to sleep, he had to come get me. Never again.

I'll try, but mine usually won't wake up to burp! Once he's out, he is OUT.

DS usually burps on his own when I move him from cradle hold to on my shoulder so I can get up from our bed to put him in his; if he doesn't then I lightly pat his back on the way to his bed.

i do a pat and bounce on our bed when she fall asleep. DD will usually wake up because of the gas.

it depends on your baby. some are really burpy and some are not. charlie and olive were very burpy and if we didn't burp them, they'd usually wake up a short while later anyway so might as well burp them.

we used to, because she'd wake up with gas pains screaming. As soon as we picked her up she'd burp a HUGE burp and go right back to sleep. Now that she sleeps on her side or tummy we don't.
