How does your daycare handle solid meals? Does your LO sit with the other kids at the group table? Or do they put your LO in a separate highchair? I'm curious!

I guess it would depend on the severity of the allergy and the number of allergies. There is a child in E's class that is allergic to strawberries, so no one is allowed to have them. But if the child was allergic to say milk, I'm not sure how they would handle that. It would be sad for LO to sit all alone.

I'm curious about this! We are looking for day cares now and LO has an egg & milk allergy!

LO sat alone in a high chair until we were sure she outgrew all her intolerances. But for her that happened before she was a year... so it wasn't a big deal. I don't think you could do that with a two year old.

My LO sits in her own high chair for now. Daycare makes her food. She has had skin reactions to egg and avocado and we've been advised to wait on milk, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, and peanuts. Pretty much everything got pushed out 6 months. Daycare asked me if salmon was fish so I don't think they are too educated about allergens. If she were anaphylactic we would be providing the food.
