How long do you expect they will stay in the next size?
Our daughter just moved up to 8/8.5 and I'm curious if I could buy her sandals for the summer yet or if I should wait. Their feet don't grow THAT fast...right?

My son's feet seem to grow slowly. We've had reasonable luck with shoes lasting a year if I buy a half size up.

She is just moving into a 7 and I am afraid that 8s will be huge but I want them to last all summer. She seems to go up every 3-4 months......but she can wear sandals till October here.

@Smurfette: yeah, that's my worry. I don't want to buy a size 8 sandal now and have her grow out of it by July when she can wear them through October!

C's feet have grown VERY slowly since she turned 2. She's been in a 9 for a year now. She's still wearing the sneakers I bought last spring. (She'll be 3 in like 2 weeks)

I'm anticipating her to be a size 10 by summer
She'll be 3. That'll be 4 whole sizes since last year! Eta: I never buy half sizes, I buy 2 whole sizes up in winter/rainboots. But I buy in her current size for sneakers (worn during the summer).

My kid's feet must be small... Xander just moved to size 6 shoes at age 2, so I feel safe he'll be in size 6 all summer!

I buy true to size, which I realize is kind of oddball behaviour on these boards, but I notice my son trips a lot when his shoes are too large.
If he outrgows shoes, I buy the next half size, usually. I noticed that this last year we bought new sneakers in September and a new pair in February. -
I feel like my kid's feet grow very slow... they usually stay in the same size for a long while before switching sizes. I've only really had to size up like once a year.
@Adira: J is also still only in size 6-6.5. I haven't bought him any new shoes since he started walking at 13 months. I'll probably size up to 7 for summer though cuz I think he'll outgrow the 6's soon.

Ds just moved up to size 8s a month ago and I bought his summer shoes in 9s. They came in yesterday and I'm so glad I sized up. He's gone up in shoe sizes every three months consistently thus far even when he stalls in wt and ht growth his feet just keep going!

He just went from 6 to 7.5. Hopefully a whole because all I buy for him are new balances for the extra width!

A sales lady told me that you can expect a kid's size to go up every 3 months... but surely as they get into bigger sizes, their feet grow more slowly?!

my boys' feet grow like weeds, so I just try and buy one per size, exactly when they need them. I tried buying ahead previously and would usually regret it :). the almost 3 year old is currently transitioning into 11's and my 18m old is in 7/8's. yikessss!!!

DS has grown a full size in the last 6 months. I'm in Boston so I'd probably wait until we were closer to sandals season and then get some.
She'll be 3. That'll be 4 whole sizes since last year!
