I'm just curious what the breakdown is. We are starting the daycare search and one of the huge requirements for me is that they allow us to supply all of LO's food. I have no clue what the norm is.

They will supply snacks, but we supply everything because of his egg allergy!

We supply everything. In the infant/toddler room we even supplied his snack. Now in the 2's room they supply the snack but we still supply everything else.

They supply snacks and offer lunch for a price. So we ordered lunch directly from the company that caters. Her new center everything is provided.

We supply lunch but they provide snacks - if there is an allergy you can bring your own snacks

I supply zero food, only formula &/or breast milk.
I suppose she would let me supply my own if I wanted though

The school provides everything once he starts solids. If it's purees, we bring it in.

DD's not on solids yet, but daycare supplies food for the older kids. When she first starts solids, we will bring her food but she'll gradually transition to daycare's food over the next few months. I'm fine with the menu (assuming LO doesn't end up with any food intolerances or allergies) and it's one less thing to worry about. But the food thing wasn't a make-or-break issue for us, as long as they don't serve crap.

Daycare provides food but we provided her food until about 20 months when she started asking for what all the other kids wanted. Then I gave up.

They supply all food other than for infants. I love it! They do all organic so I feel like he eats better there than at home sometimes. I don't think they allow external food unless there is an allergy.

we pack lunch. most of the daycares here don't provide food. they do provide a snack though that either the daycare provides or that parents bring in on a rotating basis.

Both places provide food....daycare (DD) and preschool (DS). It makes things SOOOO much easier for me. I pack my son a morning snack every day that he can munches on between breakfast and lunch but it's super quick and easy to pack.

They provide the food and don't allow parents to bring in their own lunches. It is all made from scratch on site though, and they do offer dietary modifications for children with allergies.

We have done it both ways at two different in home day cares. The one that provides food makes a hot lunch from scratch that is at least as healthy as what I have been packing for LO. She even made special egg and dairy free food for LO. I don't think that's the norm and it's a big selling point for me at this daycare. Plus it's $200 less per month than the place where we had to pack food.

Once she is on solid food, they supply breakfast, lunch, and 2 snacks/day. Although we COULD provide food if we wanted to.

They provide everything and cater to various allergies. LO's daycare is part of an elementary school, so they have access to the school's kitchen staff.

We provide BM/formula for LO #2 and they provide all meals/snacks/milk for LO #1.

They supply but brought everything for the longest time. Right now we are down to just bringing in lunch. She's 2.

They supply since its all organic I'm fine with that. And so glad it takes some stress out for me since I'm solo parenting during the week.

We supply the milk and they supply the food!
But I suspect when he's eating more table foods, I'll need to supply them because Xander's dairy free and a lot of their foods have dairy!

We supply everything but breakfast - they give him breakfast. But we send in lunch, snack, milk, and water.

They supply everything but I bring in whole milk (they serve 2% and his ped wants him on whole until 2) and I keep a few veggie/fruit pouches in his bag just in case he doesn't eat well at a meal.

Same as @Applesandbananas. They provide everything, but we take milk for the same reason.

They supply breakfast, lunch and a snack. They would allow me to bring in food for him if there was an allergy or dietary issue, but otherwise they really don't allow outside food. I'm overall happy with their meal choices, though (lots of whole wheat, fruits, veggies and lean proteins) so it doesn't bother me.
We briefly looked at one place that served Pop Tarts for breakfast twice a week, and then on random days the snack would just be water and cucumber slices. I was not impressed, and it was a deal breaker.
