ugh. no. she tolerates the swing IF she is out cold when I put her in it. she really does NOT like the rock n play. she likes her bouncer/vibrating seat, but really..it's k'tan or bust when late afternoon hits.

Nope. DD hated to be put down for the first 3-4 months. The only thing that saved me was my Boba wrap carrier. Eventually she got used to the bouncy chair.

There's no gear that really does it for H. The Baby Ktan and Moby wraps have been lifesavers for me. He is a totally happy baby when he's held, and very displeased when he's not. I have a toddler as well (who, like your first, was not a cuddly newborn) so I do have to put H in the RnP or swing for brief periods a few times each day while I tend to him, but other than that it's easier and happier to wrap him up!

Just now at 3.5 months she will chill in the swing for a bit. Now that she is more interactive she is ok with being laid on a blanket on the floor oddly enough, we just have to keep singing and making faces at her! Grand total though she might give me sixty minutes a day so I can commiserate! My husband jokes that her evolutionary survival skills are a bit too honed- she will never be left alone long enough to be eaten by a wild animal!

Nope. The only thing that saved me was the Baby K'tan and wearing her other than actually holding her all the time.

Baby wearing was my life saver.

Nothing but the carrier worked for DD1. DD2 is 3 weeks old and starting to act the same way. I've already had to put her in the carrier just to get things done.

My daughter loved the swing but hated to be put down anywhere else.

I have a 7 week old who is exactly the same way. We even have to co sleep because that's the only way he will sleep. I wear him in my ring sling to get things done. He hates the swing and will only sometimes tolerate the rnp for like 5-10 minutes.

DS really disliked being put down for about the first 2 months or so. I just had to do stuff while he was sleeping or when DH was around to hold him. He is now 4.5 months and I can put him in his little chair in the same room as me for maybe 20 min or so before he starts to get agitated. It's difficult to replace loving arms with an inanimate object I can no longer do much while he's sleeping as he takes very short naps and it's not worth attempting to put him down.
