Would you spend $300 on a piece of furniture from IKEA? Set of drawers. Would you buy it there or trying to find something close elsewhere?

Yes! I bought a $300 dresser from Target and was not happy at all. I have preferred the Ikea furniture I bought way more.

I think since I'm not in a rush I will try to find something similar at a higher quality shop. Urban barn, or wherever. This is what I want. I really like how it looks. Sorry if it's huge. Posting from my phone.

We have the huge Hemnes dresser (solid wood) from Ikea and LOVE it. Have had it for 3 years and it still looks brand new. I think that you get much more for your money at Ikea. The Hemnes dresser was $250 and it's huge. At a furniture store, the same price would have gotten us a smaller dresser.

We love our Hemnes dressers...all three of them. I like ikea style.

I also have the Hemnes dresser. It was great but if you're moving put some wood glue to reinforce it. When we moved my dresser started to come apart and the bottom of the dresser needed to be glued together. If you're looking for something that will last year and year I would take my $300 and get it some where else. I had my dresser for about 4 years now

I've had one of the Hemnes dressers for over 10 years and have moved it 4 times. Haven't had any issues with it. I would say that it was $250-$300 well spent.

most of our furniture is Ikea, and from the more expensive lines--a lot of various Hemnes pieces, a big Besta media/shelf unit, Ektorp couch and chairs, etc. We just recently bought a buffet console that was like $350, if I remember correctly. I find that it's still cheaper than a lot of other furniture companies, and is durable (has survived many years and many moves) and stylish.

I say buy if it's wood versus particleboard. Also another Hemnes dresser lover here {it's our changing table}.

I really like the style of that dresser too and I highly doubt you will find something similar at that price point! We have Malm dressers (similar style) in our LO's room and they've held up great!

I just bought (well, my mom did, but I got to pick them out...and build them ) 2 Malm dressers from Ikean(they look a lot like the one posted above) and I like them. I got one for LO and one for DS. They match and are different sizes, so one day I might get another matching set once they have room for two dressers in their room. I'd get them for my room, too.
I really like the fact that they don't have knobs. Nothing to fall off and easier for DS to get open.

@babycanuck: Have you tried looking on craigslist and finding a cheaper used one?

We are thinking of getting the hemnes for the baby's room. Glad it's getting good reviews here!

Thanks, everyone! I like the Hemnes one, too, so that might be a better option. The white one is particleboard, which is too bad, but the dark stained pine is nice, so I think I might get that.
