We are headed to IKEA for the first time tomorrow. Plan to get a crib for LO2 and the activity table for LO1. Do you have any recommendations for toys or feeding gear to check out? LO1 is 15 months and I heard ikea has a good train set. Also is there any must buy food there?

We love getting the cheap soft serve and the cinnabuns! I actually really like their chocolate bars too, haha. Everytime I go I pick up something new food wise to try!
Ikea has really cheap kids utensils. Maybe their cheap art smocks that double as food smocks? I also like their stuffed animals... So soft!

I'm a fan of the Swedish meatballs and ligonberries! They have a chocolate cake that's also pretty good.
Does your LO already have a play kitchen? The Ikea one is so cute & compact.

They also have an app that you can make a shopping list and set the store you're going to and they'll tell you what isle things are at to save time!

They have great finger puppets and fabric food. Also chalk/markers and big rolls of paper.

I love IKEA kids stuff. We have their plastic plates/bowls that we use everday. Their smocks are great. All of their toys/stuffed animals have been a hit. I LOVE their finger puppets they are the cutest. We just lost the shark yesterday at the store and I'm feeling really sad about it lol. Oh and they have a bunch of new fun dress up/costume stuff!
I would just prepare yourself to be patient because everyone is always on their own program and not very considerate of others, and prepare yourself to be a little overwhelmed. Just take it all in, it's fun

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: he does not have a play kitchen yet. Hopefully they have one set up so we can see if he's interested. If we end up there around lunch I think I'll have to try the meatballs

We have the train set from IKEA and bought an add on set, but unfortunately they don't fit well with the Thomas trains. The IKEA set comes with some plain colored ones, but of course my LO prefers Thomas and all his buddies
Definitely recommend their long sleeved smocks for art projects and messier food like spaghetti. We have a green plastic round table and two small blue stools that fit underneath in his playroom. Super easy to put together and I don't mind if he draws on the table since it was cheap.
We also LOVE the shelving units that you can get all the boxes or bins for - http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50278482/. We have two that we use the opposite way from how it's shown in the picture. Great for a changing table on top - one is used to store all the extra sheets, towels, stuffed animals and books in LO's room and the other is used in his playroom to store toys.

We have a small IKEA kids table with two chairs and it was probably one of our best purchases ever. Very inexpensive and easy to wipe clean. LO 1 uses it every single day multiple times. I thought it would just be an art and/or train table, but he loves to eat all of his meals at it!
