Talk to me about it. E's been in a small in home for 2.5 years. I found a preschool to send her to in January (she turns 3 in April). It just seems like such a big, school-y setting. So how'd it go for your LO?

Good luck! I'll be watching to see how it goes because we intend to do the same next year

Following b/c we're doing that on Monday! I've been talking up the new school like crazy. I can report back.

We will find out in September! We put M on a wait list for a preschool and thought it would take awhile but a spot opened up for the fall. She will only be going there 2 days per week though, and staying at her in home the other 3. I'm hoping it goes well, but we will see!

Hi everyone! Here's the update. Our 3 yo has been at the new school for a week. It has probably been harder for me and DH to adapt to the new place since it means that I now have to make lunch, have breakfast at home, we both have to drive farther to get there, and there are more rules than what we were used to at the home daycare.
That said, I think our son has LOVED it. He is busy all day with new activities every 10-30 min. all day. I have noticed that he has been exceptionally cranky in the evenings, and they have been telling us that he slept well at school. When I asked about it, they said that his naps have been 1-1.5 hours long instead of the usual 2-2.5 at the other place. Ah ha! He still very much needs naps, so now that I know that, we're going to try and put him down earlier for bed. Also, since he outgrew and was bored at daycare, I think he is extra tired in the evenings because he is much more stimulated all day long.
He is only allowed to bring a toy or stuffed animal on Fridays now for show and tell, so he was really excited when he got to bring one today. I can't wait to hear how it went today.
He has had a couple minor behavioral issues, such as throwing sand at a friend and throwing one of his lunch items that he didn't want to eat. I think they're both minor, though, and it's him testing his boundaries in a new environment. He has also been stubborn at home, so I think he's testing us more at home, too. Not surprised.
If you'd all like, I can update again at the end of next week. Have a great weekend!
