Hellobee Boards

I'm not at the daycare, so I can't really say what they do all day, but I know they have a TON of toys for babies from swings, exersaucers, jumperoos, activity mats, and just toys to play with. I know that one of our teachers would go for walks with the babies and also do art projects with them! I have a bunch of Xander's "art" where the teacher would dip his hands or feet in paint and do hand prints/foot prints or help him hand paint things. I think a lot of time, Xander just spends his time watching the other children! His teachers have told me that when he gets his bottle, he's always turning his head to watch what all the other kids are doing. So I think just watching them is entertainment for him!

Our day care is education based, so there is a lesson plan for each day. They teach them sign language, read a book, sing a song, have life lessons (life hold their own spoon, put pacifier in their mouth), do arts and crafts. Then they just have a ton of toys for them to play with. They ride in the Bye Bye Buggy around the building/outside. They take them outside for "playtime"

@shopaholic: I will take a picture of her sheet for today, and it will give you an idea of the different lessons that she does each day.

@shopaholic: haha, yeah, his early prints aren't very good, haha. And the teacher would always tell me "we did his hand print today so if you find any red on him, that's why!" though they usually did a great job of cleaning him off!

@shopaholic: the teacher did something smart today. Put the paper with a drop of paint inside of a ziploc bag. Then closed and let them paint with the paint in the bag. Then just take the paper out and no messy hands to clean!

My LO is not really mobile yet, so I think a lot of her "activities" are just her being held by the teacher while the other kids do activities and joining in where she can. They do tummy time and play on activity mats inside in the morning, then do circle time, play outside (crawlers and cruisers explore and non-mobile babies get held and shown around the play area) and then they play with age appropriate toys inside. No arts and crafts yet. Her daycare is a small, home daycare, but I'm still impressed by how many activities they do every day.

Her daily reports crack me up - last week we were told she made a new friend, and when DH asked what that entailed, her teacher said she scooted over to another of the little babies and smooshed her hands on his face. So I generally assume the rest of her reports are similarly generous in their assessment of her activities.

@Elderberrygin: I get told that R loves hair. As in pulling everyone's hair!!

@Elderberrygin: well they write one and make copies! Then put smiley faces by what each kid did. Then the memorable moments. The other side has their feedings, naps, and diapers.

@Corduroy: @Alivoo01: Same here ladies! Just diaper changes, naps, and food!! They have this whole section too on the report for "What I did today..." but they never fill it out!

@Smurfette: Is your LO at a Goddard? I recognize the sheet:) Ours doesn't do the smiley faces though - that's a good idea. I always wonder which of the activities he actually did!
