Does anyone know if you can add photos to Instagram without having them show up to all your followers? I ask because I really want to do a bunch of 2x2 prints through Prinstagram, but a lot of the photos I want included aren't on my Instagram account... so I'll need to add them, but I really don't want to spam all my friends... advice??

Put your phone in airport mode and add them and then it shouldn't post them all I don't think.

Do you have an iPhone? Put it on airplane mode and then post the pictures... they won't show up on your timeline (it'll say upload failed), but it still saves them on your camera roll.

I have an android phone and after the photo processes it is added to the instagram folder on my memory card. Then I can either go through with posting it to instagram, or not. Either way it is still on my phone. I'm not sure if it works the same way for iphone.

@Adira: there is instagram direct now where you send to specific friends only. I don't know if you can send to yourself?

@Adira: I *think* you link to IG to print. So it will have to be on your IG feed. I printed over 8 months ago so I don't remember.

@locavore_mama: Hmm... so might not work if they're just saved and not shared? So the direct might not work... Maybe I'll do a couple tests and see if they show up with prinstagram and if they don't... I guess I'll just apologize to all my IG friends in advance and then spam them?? hahaha...

@Adira: Another alternative could me making a separate IG account, logging in with no followers and just posting a ton, just for print purposes. Might be just as easy as navigating the technical stuff....

@Adira: I have a Droid (I just assume everyone has an iPhone, haha) and if you apply the filter and move to the screen where you add a comment... you can cancel it and it'll still be in your instagram folder on your phone. At least that's how it works for my Galaxy Note.

@Adira: Ah, I just looked it up and it looks like they have to be on your actual IG account. I agree with @Mrs. Confetti: that making a second account may be a good idea for that kind of a project!

On an android you can do the same thing. You can put your phone on Airplane mode (so it's not connected to any network) and then put the photos on Instragram. It will tell you the upload failed but the photos will still appear in your phone's media gallery all cropped and filtered.

This isn't a very practical option, but its what I do: I put the pictures through the normal instagram process but then delete them immediately when they post to my account. No one sees them (hopefully), but they are saved in my phone.

I had to open up a new IG account when I printed through Printstagram.

I did a prinstagram garland for Bs birthday, you should be able to find the pic on Instagram. I didn't realize it was a thing. It turned out great

@Adira: no, it wasn't so bad and made the ordering process easier since I only uploaded pictures I wanted to print.

I've ordered from there before and I could use pics that were saved to my phone. I haven't recently (I did within the last 5 months, though).
