Ok, so after my summer of fun I'm finally starting to job search and interview again. I have an interview tomorrow - and last night I tried on my suit pants and they don't fit! Wah! I'm a week post miscarriage/D&C and I put on about 5 lbs (rough first trimester, had to stop working out).

I feel like I have three options:

1) Go out and buy new suit pants. Its a Theory suit so I'm betting I can take the jacket with me to Bloomingdales and find a new pair of pants to match. BUT I might have to get an emergency hem job - and the interview is at 10am tomorrow!

2) Wear another professional outfit - I have other pants that fit, a blouse, professional shoes, etc. It would definitely be polished (my last job was at one of the Big Four so it was a step above business casual).

3) Buy an entirely new, less expensive suit (i.e. Banana, J Crew, etc)

How important is a suit? My headhunter said it really is preferred but if I must its OK to not wear one. I've never NOT worn a suit for a professional, office-job interview. What would you do? Have you ever not worn a suit? If you interview people regularly, what would you think of someone showed up in professional, polished attire but not a suit?

*Not sure if this makes a difference, but the interview is with a lifestyle/fashion/entertainment brand.
