We did the transition to almond milk (and trials with coconut, wcm, hemp) two weeks ago. at first we just replaced the water we gave him at meal times with milk. then we started offering it whenever throughout the day as well.

I still nursed in the AM/PM for a few weeks, then to just AM, and now he's 100% on almond milk with a lil bit of freezer stash left.

He drinks 18oz+ a day usually throughout the day from a cup or sippy cup.

Transition away from bottles wasn't too hard. We sorta went cold turkey.

We started introducing WCM at 9.5 months with our pediatrician's blessing. DD had previously had yogurt and cheese with no adverse reaction, so I wasn't worried about milk. I put cold WCM in a sippy/straw cup and offer it all meals. Sometimes she drinks it, sometimes not. DD still nurses or gets BM in a bottle as well.

I have read that the best way to transition is to start making bottles 25/75 WCM:BM/Formula, then 50/50, then 75/25, then 100/0. I am not sure we will do that because I don't want DD to take her WCM warm or in a bottle.
