It doesn't seem necessary. I like the size of my iPad.

DH has been talking about it for months but wasn't so impressed with the specs once it was announced. His phone is too small and the iPad is too big. Mini size is perfect but the specs are not.

@Sweet T: I actually don't think Apple will make more money on this roll out. They are just losing sales on the iPad or the iPhone. No one is going to buy all three.

@MamaMoose: except my husband... We have an iPad and just bought our first iPhones. He was ready to buy a mini if the specs were right.

Ugh, I guess it's slightly less annoying to see people take pictures with this compared to a full size iPad.

I have been waiting to buy an iPad until the mini comes out (for over a year). The regular iPad is too big for me to use at work without looking ridiculous, and the iPhone is too small to use as an e-reader. I am hoping they release the 4G one soon, because that is what I have been waiting for.

nope! i have the kindle fire. it's so small! hard to use the keys....

We just got the google nexus a few months ago, which I think is about the same size. The Ipad was too big for my to stick in his coat pocket during work but the phone is way too small to read off of (and we still don't do data plans). Would have considered this one if it'd been out.

I bought the Kindle Fire in May and I would have waiting for this to come out if I had known. I didn't want to double my budget for the ipad but I would have spent a little extra on this. However, I just bought my first iphone and am in love. So maybe in May things would have been different because I would have never used an apple product before (well, except for in college like 8 years ago).

I may consider the mini! I have an iPad 1 (which seems SO. SLOW), so maybe I'll get the mini next summer when my iPad turns 3, haha. Since mine is first gen, it's heavier and feels bulk especially with my leather case.

It's definitely attractive , will have to see it in person
