Hmm...I think I have a full year left at this point so I doubt I'll be able to get it:( maybe ill be renewing my contract when the iphone 6 comes out---quite possibly!

I like some of the new features, but I would be happy with upgrading my iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S.
Then maybe when the iPhone 6 comes out, I'll get the 5.
I'm okay with waiting to get a better deal.
Also, getting an older phone hopefully will deter theft.

Yes, DH and I have been counting down... Pre-ordering on Fri for both of us! I turned down last year's 4s since I was still very happy with the iPhone 4, but now I am feeling the need to upgrade. So excited for 9/21!

@bluestriped bee: yeah I was just talking with DH and he says only one of us will get the iPhone 5 and the other can get the 4 or 4S. He said since he just bought me a new macbook pro he gets the newer phone. Boo.
But at least I still get an iPhone lol I'm excited anyway.

I've waited so freaking long. I have the iPhone 3
it is the slowest thing but it hasn't broken at least. @Coco Bee: from what I've read it's really fast and has a nice camera + it's a longer screen I was hoping for some really awesome physical changes but it still looks pretty much the same.

@Coco Bee: It's thinner, lighter, taller, better camera that even does panoramic shots, faster, internet is suppose to be faster than wifi, you can facetime over cellular network (instead of wifi only), siri is better and maps now speaks directions. Oh, brighter screen, but that's not a important to me.
I do like that if someone is calling and you don't want to talk to them you can push the 'reply with message' button.

I was so excited to hear it was coming out, but I now I don't know if I want the 5! The 4 for free is sounding pretty sweet!

Those that have iPhones but aren't upgrading to the 5, check out the new updates for iOS6. some of them are only on the 4S/5 but others will work on the 4.

I still have a "dumb phone" (aka- not a smart phone). I have been wanting an iPhone for over a year now, so I think this is the perfect time to finally get one. My contract isn't up until Feb, but I think they will let me upgrade to a smart phone at any time.

I was just looking on Nordstrom to see if they any cases yet. I love the Kate Spade ones. It says that it won't ship until 12/7/12, crazy town. I will have to buy a case before then!

I'm ordering mine tomorrow. I have a Droid X and while I do like the android platform...i hate the camera on it and it's gotten really sluggish, even though I don't use a ton of apps (my husband says I do but I know most people use a lot more!).

I'm due for an upgrade in December. I currently have an LG Android, but am switching to an iPhone because their cameras are better and also because I can use it with my iTunes. I probably won't go for the 5 just because I'm cheap. Right now with Verizon the 4 is $99 and the 4S is $199. If the 4S drops to $99 once the 5 comes out, I'll get that. Otherwise, I'll be getting the 4.

got the sIII since my phone crapped out. im not regretting it though. i heard on the news today that the sale of the new iphone could potentially move the gdp up .5 percent! the power of apple!
