My 6 month old refuses to take a decent afternoon nap so by 6 pm he is beat! Is it too early though?

I'm no expert but I would say that's fine especially since he took a bad final nap. Usually my 6 month old is sleeping between 6:30 and 7.

nope. olive had an early bedtime until she was around 8-9 months and was able to stay awake longer and sleeping better. she regularly had bedtimes even earlier than 6pm on bad nap days.

Our 6th month old had a bad nap and has been in bed since 7:30pm. This is early for him. We're working on getting an early bedtime after our peds got on us about LO's sleep and lack of STTN.

Nope. Our LO had a 5:30 pm bedtime from about two and a half months on, and would sleep 12 hours through the night. Now at 8 months, she's just started staying up until about 6:30 and still sleeps brilliantly. I don't think there's a right or wrong time for bed - if it's working well for you and your LO, then I say go with it!

Nope, I don't think so. My LO has had a 6PM bedtime since she was around 6-7 months old.

With everyone else... We start bedtime routine by around 530 and they are in bed by around 630...
